  1. Does Palka take his spot in ROC? Looks like the Red Wings have only Schafer and Walker in the OF now.
  2. I would also be curious to know how you arrive at that figure. Don't get me wrong, I want to believe you, but last year at this time we had a similar discussion about the "true talent" of the 2015 Twins, and how that value should guide their offseason plans. I definitely thought this team was on the upswing but in retrospect, shouldn't have put such blind confidence in youth to pull the "true talent" value upwards. Or at least, shouldn't have been confident that the upward pull of youth would overpower the downward pull of vets like Plouffe, Hughes, Perkins, etc.
  3. I will never fault TR for the Park signing and I hope he or whoever is in charge when the next big Korean is ready to make the jump, pulls the trigger on that guy again. Also, 3.5 years left on the deal, still plenty of time to turn into an asset.
  4. Not so fast, we gave up Sam Fuld to get this guy.
  5. Yeah but what fancy stats like ERA and K/9 don't tell you is how much the rest of the rotation benefits from having a lefthander like him in it.
  6. Suzuki's face after finally making a perfectly accurate, on time throw on a steal attempt... only to be dropped by Dozier. http://video.foxnews.com/thumbnails/i/100912/0/0/100912_grumpy_cat_640.jpg
  7. This is a special ball club, what else can you say?

  9. OK but I want full credit for a win, k?
  10. Game thread, top of 2nd edition. Twins and Sox are tied 0-0 with Tommy Milone on the hill. Carlos "call me 'Carl-aws'" Rodon for the Sox. Mauer sits and Grossman DH's. For the Sox, something called Matt Davidson has been recalled to DH. Weather: hot and greasy, with some wind blowing out to left center. Twins Tommy Milone (L) 1. Eduardo Nunez ® 3B 2. Eduardo Escobar (S) SS 3. Robbie Grossman (S) DH 4. Brian Dozier ® 2B 5. Trevor Plouffe ® 1B 6. Kurt Suzuki ® C 7. Max Kepler (L) RF 8. Danny Santana (S) LF 9. Byron Buxton ® CF White Sox Carlos Rodon (L) 1. Tim Anderson ® SS 2. Adam Eaton (L) RF 3. Jose Abreu ® 1B 4. Todd Frazier ® 3B 5. Brett Lawrie ® 2B 6. Dioner Navarro (S) C 7. Avisail Garcia ® LF 8. Matt Davidson ® DH 9. J.B. Shuck (L) CF
  11. Clearly you guys bailed on the MI movies before the 4th and 5th ones. They're awesommmmmme.
  12. Don't think he's assigning blame per se, just responding to the assertion that Doug M. wouldn't stand for the poor fundamentals that we see from Twins players. Well, Dougie coached many of these players already... as has Jake Mauer, etc. and even Molitor as a roving minor league instructor,.
  13. Sigh, where's this ump when we need him? http://cdn-s3.si.com/s3fs-public/2016/03/24/cespedes.gif
  14. I have no idea what Molitor's doing about the poor fundamentals, if anything. It does seem like something that wouldn't have happened under Gardy or TK but then again, maybe the minor leagues were in better shape during those years. Wouldn't be surprised if there were a bit of both going on.
  15. Molitor has said a few times "you expect most of the developing to happen in the minor leagues... before they get here." And he has a pt I think. Total. System...
  16. http://www.ikea.com/PIAimages/0269840_PE407647_S5.JPG You know you want it.
  17. Ash, did you get the phone voice recording app yet? If so, do the game thread a solid and call the Twins auction line plz. "I'd be willing to pay up to $490 dollars for a Metrodome memories bag," etc.
  18. $500 for a Metrodome memories bag lol Hard. pass..
  19. Fair enough. Its safe to say Mauer's best days are behind him. It still seems premature to me to say that his new mean is a .730 batter. The concussion recovery being a big wildcard here. I still hold out hope that he can settle in at the high .700s despite the last 15 months. YMMV.
