  1. I think the arb clock is sort of an afterthought with Gibson at this point.
  2. Who doesn't like a good faceplant? http://i.imgur.com/0aWWKJP.gif
  3. I understand its probably down on your list of tweaks Brock but I'm with smerf 100% on the new red and blue. Maybe the way they contrast with the background, or something. A tiny bit painful too look at IMO.
  4. I'm going to bring a ball back from Cedar Rapids at some point this summer so I can compare it to the MLB one I have on my desk (Ben Sisko style) to answer that very question. I have no idea.
  5. I suspect its more about park effects. I find any projection system amusing enough, but when you zero in on wildcards like Hamilton they really shine.
  6. Q&A: Vance Worley, Deceptively-Diverse Twin | FanGraphs Baseball Worley says he has 6 pitches in his armory but his best 2ndary pitch is a cutter
  7. Mike Cuddyer = Josh Hamilton?
  8. How many blown plays are we talking? The ultimate currency here is runs right, either saved or created? I don't think one counts more than the other. Maybe Trevor Plouffe is the best SS option.
  9. What a tease
  10. He's been losing weight ever since Dark Star died. Might be he has a whole new rosy outlook on life now.
  11. You have a self-selecting sample, Seth. Only the charged fans will visit Twinsdaily and moreso, bother to login and post. Same goes for the Startribune comments for that matter. But that is stat speak, I apologize. As for me, I fall into category 1
  12. Laughing by Pere Ubu on CD1 - 1975-1977 - Free Music Streaming, Online Music, Videos - Grooveshark
  13. Walters goes 2 scoreless. Plouffe finishes 6th with an erratic throw to first.
  14. Uehara shuts down the Twins in bottom of inning. still 8-4
  15. I stepped away and the Twins scored 4 in the bottom of the 4th. 8-4 Boston. .Walters pitching the top of 5
  16. 0-2 pitch to Napoli, home run scores 3. Bases weren't full? I can't keep it straight anymore. 8-0 Sox
  17. Thielbar hits someone in the head. Bases full, 2 outs, Thielbar's done edit: Check that, Thielbar stays in
  18. Pedroia bangs a double off the wall. Thielbar still pitching. 4-0 Sox, runners on 2 and 3rd
  19. Olmeda strikes out looking, Benson strikes out on a curveball. End of 3
  20. Benson nails Napoli at third, BOS scored on the play. 3-0 sox. 2 outs in the 3rd, Thielbar pitching
  21. Benson loses a ball in the sun. Sounds like a pretty tough angle out there
  22. A while back I went through the hitting results for teams based on position in the order, trying to find a relationship to the scoring that teams did. I'm not totally sure how to interpret the data. The strongest correlation between lineup production and team scoring is at the 1st and 4th spots in the order. My theory is that, because the 1st spot will lead off at least once per game, and the 4th spot is guranteed to leadoff the 2nd inning in about 1/3 of all games (and then more or less randomly for the rest of the game), production in those two spots is more critical than elsewhere in the lineup. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5pIzP28qdp-WTZ5aHBJWHRRQ3c/edit?usp=sharing
  23. Is there any example where a starting pitcher has succeeded with two different landing spots? Maybe if Hendriks stayed closed against LHB, but opened up against RHBs, he could have the best of both worlds.
  24. I am pretty high on the Sox. Very solid pitching top to bottom, and a lineup that is built to play in the Cell. I could flip a coin between the Sox and the Tigers for the Division.
