  1. Nobody, and I mean nobody, craves self-pity like a Minnesota sports fan.
  2. The hesitation step was 5 strides into the play and pretty obvious. Looked to me like he thought he could play it behind the bag and just mis read it a tiny bit. It was absolutely not a laziness miss.
  3. He was a long, long way from the baseline and made one hesitation step. A ball that hits the bag sucks but it was a slight misread at worst, not lack of aggression.
  4. Did it work? I can't really remember. I do remember the freak out.
  5. Very standard obstruction call. Very poor reaction by Cora.
  6. Do I have this right that many want Rocco to act like that? No thanks. Good call.
  7. Was referring to the Padres "eff this" period as described in the quoted post. But, doesn't it just come down to people wanting the Twins to Leeeeeroy Jenkins? That's all I can see in most of these posts.
  8. Fascinating listen to be lectured on how the world works by someone who brags they can't tie their own shoes.
  9. I can't think of a single team less comparable to the Twins than the Padres. The premise of this article is a collection of words that will get me banned. I hate what we've let this site become. So much of what they are doing is scrambling to get the organization back to steady after the "eff this" period. With a couple major stars signed long term they couldn't just tear it down. While I see you've been corrected and acknowledged those corrections (thanks for that) I have to point a couple things out. The fanatic mindset makes it really easy to get carried away with hyperbole and not apply a minimum level of critical thinking. It's the curse of the social media era. Here, we somehow didn't think a billionaire knew he was sick before we did? The most basic, simple explanation is that anyone, billionaire or not, knows they are dying long before they announce it publicly. It's just one of those things that once it becomes public explains so many things in hindsight. But nope, lets go with the least sensible path because it fits our priors. And being comfortable with accusing Carl of something like that which was debunked with a simple search.... Let's just say if it were me I'd back off a bit and rethink my positions but that's just me. I wish it were many more than just me.
  10. This really cheered me up, I’m legit laughing out loud. You’ve used your last straw approximately 47 times that I know of.
  11. You guys are such a pleasure to read watching a game. It destroys my faith in humanity.
  12. You got that special Bally feed?
  13. Varland for the 8th, Caleb for the 9th against the lefty top of the order. Need the whole roster to get into the barn.
  14. OK, I went and watched all the first base plays for Santander in the film vault. He can play there, especially with an off season of work. Color me intrigued.
  15. What's the Dollar Tree version of this? I wonder how he would look given an offseason to learn 1st base, small 12 game tester with the O's last year so it's been discussed. I can't see them taking on $80-100m for a hitter but if they did that hitter would need this kind of versatility to give it a chance to work. A switch hitting masher that can play the corner OF and 1st base at a decent level would be a fantastic fit for this roster.
  16. It was always going to be tight. The next two will be tight as well. And of all the people to throw random stray shots at, you chose Jose Ramirez? On his birthday, for 1-run-Peter sakes? For the crime of…signing a contract? Weak sauce. Act like you’ve been here before.
  17. Just off the top of my head roster construction, his spot will probably need to be filled by someone that can functionally hold a glove in left field. Julien and Miranda platoon with some flexibility. If the new guy can play both left field and 1st base and switch hit, then watch out. Right up Twins baseball alley. They will also have enough option and defensive flexibility with Helman, Castro and Kiersey it may work to get a DH only. I'd hate to lockup the spot so I'd be looking for a Thome level guy and I don't know who that is.
  18. You wouldn't like Jax when he was angry. Winnah!
  19. It was never not going to be a sweat. Jax closes it out to get back on track.
