  1. Kiersey gets instant credibility to hit against lefties? More likely Martin not a suitable defensive replacement.
  2. OK, someone fess up to changing the title. And when you fess up, add your bonifidies that qualify you to make such pronouncements from distance. The qualification to say someone you have probably never met has "no idea how to understand human beings" actually doesn't exist but I'd be curious to see what you came up with.
  3. Was doing more reading in the rulebook than in the thread. I see it now, lol.
  4. Except he doesn't get third for a one base award. Award is from last legally touched base. They were thinking about keeping him at first. Rule 5.06(b)(3)(C)
  5. Umpires have to do it all the time.
  6. The difficulty is if it's a one base vs two base award. It comes down to a determination of intent of the fielder. If momentum carries the fielder out of play, one base. If they could deem he assisted the ball going out of play in any way, two bases. Obviously to us Wallner had no chance of stopping there but that's what they were looking at.
  7. Was just going to say that. No justification to award 3rd base. Should be easy as with a proper fence there would be a play at 2nd. Feeling we might get the Rocco explosion shortly.
  8. Holy jump on a pitch Julien.
  9. But other than that, how was the play Mrs Lincoln? What would be the good traits to balance all that out? Something has actually been working.
  10. Correa was also on the injured list in April. I was told no math. I’m all for criticisms of Rocco, I have several of my own as well, but please be realistic. If you are really going with the line that if Rocco was presented a healthy unicorn, set and forget lineup option he would platoon it or something is just nuts. That Judge and Witt are remarkably healthy is actually a factor. Don’t forget how he suddenly morphed into the TwinsDaily ideal magically for the playoffs last year. They have different priorities than you do. You don’t have to like it.
  11. Common ****ing sense. Uncommon, I know. Why would you assume otherwise? Like keeping one of the best 5 players in the game on the bench is actually something Rocco would do? You came up with those game numbers pretty quickly-now do Correa when he's not on the IL.
  12. Call me crazy, and I'm not here to cape up for Rocco, but if he had a Witt or Judge he would be doing that same thing.
  13. If Kiersey has indeed made it to the park on time he needs to be in the 9 hole for Martin against the righty. Someone catch the damn ball please.
  14. Hit another fan! How do you even find them to hit in the first place?
  15. Interesting Helman is in right field right out of the gate. He might be a step up from Martin day one. Current throws excepted.
  16. I can't let this double winner go unrecognized. Bet Siri wants that swing back.
  17. My bad, no math in the game thread! LMAO.
  18. Justin is learning. Spin is a major variable. The video is the good stuff,
  19. Certainly, the ball at rest doesn't change the exit spin effect on the flying ball but it mostly likely changes how the ball reacts when hit. A 2200 rpm exit acts the same on a golf ball and a baseball...with the slight difference of seams and dimples. A baseball is more likely to have side spin with hitting a moving target. Seems like its still a relatively new field for the nerds but the data is there. I'm sure the teams would be using it. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/more-fun-with-batted-ball-spin-data/
  20. I just don't think any of the SRBr guys must be golfers. The statcast average distance for 99 mph and 28 degree launch angle is 376 ft for 65 events. No telling what the Twins use. If we can measure slider spin rates the exit spin rates should be available too. Almost every golfer knows what spin does to distance on a driver.
  21. Was just looking at the numbers on Lee. His swing did not look like it should have been a homer, especially a 409ft one. It looked like a short swat swing, 69.3 with 99.1 ev. 409 seems like a long way for 99.1. Would love to see some spin data, Lee seems to get optimum carry on his ball.
