    First of all, the WBC is a small sample size. He got pretty lucky IMO. The USA chased a log of balls out of the zone and helped him get out of trouble. I'm disappointed by the poor AB's of the USA in the WBC. For all the hate MN fans give Joe Mauer, he's taken the best AB's and delivered in some tough spots.

    Good to hear that Gibson is going to Rochester. I wish the same could be said about Hicks... but it looks like he will be the opening day CF unfortunately. I hope it is worth it for the Twins.

    Suggestion: the forum topic page TD icons would look great for thread topic icons. Not sure how you would incorporate the threads posted on, new items and things like that though. I liked the previous icons we had too.

    I like it a lot better. The colors of the envelopes looks kinda weird. The layout is much easier on the eyes. As for the red/blue. I'm not sure why it is hard to look at. Just seems too contrasting. I understand the desire to use the red and blue so I'm not sure how you can tweak it to make it better.

    Brock, I'm not a fan of the new format. I feel like the letters are too big, too close together and there isn't enough variation to make reading easy. I'm trying to be constructive and not just complaining. The main page feels cluttered with too many things going on. I think a little more space between the tool bars and the rest of the page would help. The forum index page is good The blog index page is good On the actual forum I feel like there isn't enough contract between thread tittles and authors or enough space between threads threads. They kinda run together. I'm also not a fan of the new color scheme. The red and blue are hard on the eyes because they are very contrasting. That's all for now. Not sure if everyone feels this way, just wanted to give you some feedback Brock.

    I don't mind it if they are direct descendants of a country. When it is their great grandparent that is the only link... I think that is pushing it a little.

    I was on the Grienke boat... just sayin. Not that I think it would matter too much this season, but add Grienke to this team and 2014 on should be competitive years.

    I guess when you hate on the Twins you have to fall into a category. Put me in the category that has paid attention to how other teams have been winning and criticize the Twins are making blatantly obvious poor decisions. Its pieces like this I can't stand. The Twins deserve to get blasted when they finish with over 90 losses in back-to-back season, they deserve to get blasted for their complete disregard of the FA while slashing payroll to almost metrodome level. When writers like Reusse put things like this up it makes fans think they don't have a right to be critical, which is completely wrong. Right now Twins fans shouldn't be happy, their team sucks after a decade of mild success.

    LOL ok buddy. That's why baseball scouts are far more important to teams than saber guys... and I'd consider myself a pretty stat heavy guy. I'm done with this thread.

    Reading box scores from 20 Spring Training AB's tells you he is the best player out of the 3? Have you even seen Hicks play? If you actually think this, then why start his clock before it needs to be? This is insane. Its like you and others think this is a playoff team and the slight upgrade that Hicks would provide for 6 weeks outweighs the future payroll. Again, only an idiot would say saving a few million doesn't matter. It does, and if Hicks does turn out to be pretty good it will be more than a few million. I'm getting sick of this discussion. Hicks hasn't seen an MLB AB and people are already voting him into the All-Star game.

    Parmelee will never hit 2nd. Gardy is much too old school for that. He wants a #2 hitter that can bunt and move runners. Personally, I'd bat Joe Mauer lead-off. Why wouldn't you want the guy that gets on base the most in the league receiving the most AB's on the team? Stubbornness is the answer, in case anyone was asking that question to themselves for a fraction of a second.

    Han Joelo, BJ Upton OPS'd .915 at 19 years old between AA and AAA. Hicks, OPS'd .735 in low A at 19. Different players, different developments. Also, BJ Upton is a great example of a prospect with an extremely high ceiling that has not lived up to it. He is still a pretty good player, but his career OPS in the minors is .844 and majors is .758. Everyone beating down the door for Hicks needs some perspective on this. He has a chance to be a good player. Everyone that is sold on him and want him in CF for years to come should want another year he doesn't get paid 15 million dollars too then. I don't really expect him to hit very well so my expectations for him are much lower. Still, a good option for CF in the long run since he will play elite defense. These arguments to see him come north are emotional arguments. They make no sense. Baseball is a business, and if I was running the team I'd make sure to be clear to JR that Hicks will not see the MLB until May at the earliest. "Saving a couple million" is a pretty big deal. People with that kind of money make smart decisions with money not emotional ones.
