  1. They don't take on a bad contract (Knight), which was a condition of the Houston trade. The Wolves have been lucky if any of the Houston picks landed the caliber of the player of Saric; and Covington is pretty good 3 and D guy. I'm really interested to see how Markkanen's and Saric's careers compare.
  2. Although acknowledging the suspect way people may have (not) received their mail-in ballot, I hope the same people casted provisional ballots. Except Chief, I'm not that confident in his oval-filling.
  3. There were people who couldn't even cast a provisional ballot? (And really I'm no Ducey fan.)
  4. I didn't vote for him, but it's not hard to understand why he won AZ by a huge margin. I think this is part of his path to the AZ Senate.
  5. And what take money from the military industrial complex? For shame.
  6. My sincere thanks, Veterans. Now if you could all just get together and storm the Whitehouse. That'd be great.
  7. Wrap that woman in bubble wrap!
  8. And another one.
  9. Well, my optimism was ill-founded. But the Dems will get the House, but surprising how bad some Senate Democrats are doing.
  10. In Florida, Nelson and Gillum with substantial leads with nearly four million votes counted.
  11. I have a number of friends who were told they were sent ballots they didn't get and had to vote provisionally. One of them researched what was going on, and learned that his voter registration was connected to an old address, even though he believed he updated everything at the DMV recently. There may be a problem with the DMV communicating to the Secretary of State and county recorders on updated addresses and such.
  12. Scott Walker. He's had an absurd level of longevity for far too long. So shamelessly bought and paid for.
  13. Yup. Everything has to go right in AZ, FL, IN, MO, MT, NV and then they need to win one of ND, TN, TX (which are polling at Republican victories by more than six percent, though a favorable poll now and again). My personal take is that young people turn out in spades and turn out is overwhelming across all demographics; so the polls are wrong, even if pretty favorable.
  14. Certainly worth exploring, but the Twins have had bad luck in retaining players from Asia. I believe there was turn-over in the scouting department in the last year, so the fact the Twins recruited him in the past may not have much bearing today, with the new regime. For my part, if they like him, this is the kind of high-risk, high-reward the Twins need to make if they ever hope to be competitive.
  15. I know you have an opinion how things will turn out tomorrow. Have any predictions?
  16. Time for a new thread. Here's some (overtly optimistic) predictions and things to look for tomorrow. Gillum wins by double digits for FL GovernorKemp wins in GA by narrow margin, as new voter suppression stories emergeBeto wins in recount triggering fashion for Texas Senate seat.Democrats win Senate seats in close victories in AZ, FL, IN, MO, MT, NV.Republicans manage victories in TN and ND, but if my math is right, the Democrats still gain control (it may not be). Democrats gain control of the house by more than two dozen. Tomorrow, there will be stories of violence, arrest, fraud, and suppression. Some will be true, many will not be.
  17. Rose drops 50. WTF?
  18. If they don't feel he's a fit, I'm glad they are moving on, rather than staying married to a bad decision.
  19. SCOTUS is still bound by precedence, and won't want to create a precedence that will work against their political interests in the future. Imagine if a liberal president could use an EO to overturn Citizens United; they won't want to give the executive that kind of unbridled power. And if the SCOTUS should start applying different jurisprudence to different presidents depending on the party, we'd have a true constitutional crisis, that would result in a total loss of faith in the courts. I don't think the conservative justices would risk that.
  20. He can't over turn the 14th amendment with an Executive Order. This is bluster. And SCOTUS won't help him here. It would essentially nullify the constitution. Here's a link that provides some counter arguments. But it's thin gruel.
  21. Proud of you, buddy. Hang in there!

  23. Death penalty for both!
