  1. Ump now screwed Correa on both sides of the plate. An equal sided thief.
  2. This is an eerie feeling these last two games at the end as they tank a lead.
  3. That's lame, Castro. If you are going to run to first on a dropped third strike, which you definitely should, at least really run. Sheesh. What else have you got to do? Go sit on the bench?
  4. Over 12 ERA the last 5 games coming into today.... Worse now.
  5. Yes. I was finishing the comment in an edit...... as you posted.
  6. Yep. More than a little scary. Last outing he loaded the bases, too.
  7. If you finish an inning, you don't have to pitch to 3. You don't have to start the next inning, but if you do, you have to pitch to 2 more in that case.
  8. Tons of contact off Jax lately....... a little scary
  9. not the white box on tv, the pitch f/x system. the box is just a representation of it. nevermind. like I said.........
  10. the box/robot/pitch f/x..... whatever it is called, it is what is used to grade umpires. May as well have it call them if they are the grader.
  11. all great ones! James Cool Papa Bell Walter Claude Steel Arm Dickey Dizzy Dean Spaceman Bill Lee The Human Rain Delay Mike Hargrove Toy Cannon Jimmy Wynn Biscuit Pants Lou Gehrig Crime Dog Fred McGriff
  12. You don't think the pitch f/x is accurate anyway. Not really worth a conversation about that with any level umpire. Like talking to a pitcher about what an error is.
  13. 4 inches off the plate for Paddack. Strike. I hate bad calls no matter who they go to.
  14. Nelson Cruz's regal robe was fine! I don't think they gave themselves Bomba Squad. I can't remember which player called a homer a bomba, but the press started it after they heard the clip or something. I liked the Bomba Squad. The fishing jacket and rod and reel was tired from the get go. Thankfully it is over.
  15. I was responding to the comment on the last Correa at bat.
  16. Miranda didn't look like he would make it home after he came around third. Gassed already.
  17. I always wonder what the ump is thinking in a 3-0 count, where the pitcher wasn't close at all on any of the pitches, and the guy gets closer, but still outside by a couple inches --- "well alright. that's better. close enough I guess" or something? I think he just gets tired of calling balls or something. It's a pisser, though.
  18. If only Martin would have jumped higher and caught that Raleigh fly ball in the 7th....... it was just a little thing...... “Obviously, we've played the last two weeks of really clean, really good baseball,” Okert said. “So I feel like after watching that for the last two weeks, it looks even worse. We've just got to clean up those little things and move on to tomorrow.” Funny how when Lewis hits a grand slam he is the stud and hero, but when the other team does it to the Twins, it is just our pitchers fault, and not the batter's glory. The 3-2 slider is a strikeout if the batter swings through the ball, ala Devers a couple of days ago (albeit, that one was low midde and just below the zone and this one was a middle middle hanger, but many batters miss, just the same).
  19. KC and Cleveland both winners already today. Time for the boys to get rid of the sausage and selfies and rely on focus and skill instead of superstition and narcissism. After a rough start to the year, Kirby is on his usual roll, with a 0.50 ERA his last 3 starts. Margot in left. Ouch. Well, that is the handicap, I guess, (like we need to be handicapped).
  20. Yet, 3 errors already this season. And some that weren't called errors only because official scorers are charity workers. Sure, there are some plays he has made that are very fine, as most first baseman should. Reputation doesn't make his fielding better this year.
  21. I love it when people say "I was there" at the game in person, inferring that because of that they have a better take on what happened. That they can see the nuances of the pitcher better. That that makes their opinion more valid. Ha. When I go to games, I have a single view, no close up replays from multiple angles, and am seeing the game, even if close up in great seats, from a distance. There is no way I can fool myself and pretend I get to see the game better if I am in the stadium. I go to be there, in the community of baseball, enjoying the ballpark and the game, sure. I love to go to games. But there is no way I see the game better or with more acuteness. In fact, just the opposite.
  22. Margot should never have been acquired. Cut him NOW! Jackson, Margot, Santana, Olkert. Strangers for a year, or in Margot and probably Jackson’s case, until they are cut and have caused even more loses. They don’t have to play every game. Innings eater at 6 ERA is foolish. Jeffers losing that 2nd out pop up in the 7th sure didn’t help. Baldelli said he had a well rested bullpen in the post game. When can Ober pitch in the 90s for pitch count?
