  1. Let's play charades. I'll go first.
  2. Rain delay. I really hope my early game doesn't turn into a late game. That would suck.
  3. Well, I do subscribe to mlb.tv, but I'm on Central European Standard Time, so when I do watch, it's hardly ever live. Which means I miss out on the game threads. And no, nothing's disappointing so far!
  4. Looks weird to see Heyward in a Cardinals uni...
  5. Was Mauer ahead of that changeup? I'm not exactly getting HD resolution here.
  6. Woo! Early game! Seems like I haven't been on a game thread in forever.
  7. The math has to be different here, because these values assume free agency. Dozier's contract was only over the cost-controlled part of his career with the Twins anyway. That's probably secondary to your point, though, which I wholeheartedly agree with. Dozier is entering elite territory this year. Let's hope he keeps it up for at least the next four.
  8. You should have struck this bargain with the devil before the Twins signed him. Now we don't even get a ring!
  9. I thought about this for a bit, but I think that knowing your team would win would take away all the fun. I prefer the non-Faustian system we've got now, even if it means waiting a lot longer.
  10. Or.... maybe he hurt his elbow? Sometimes Occam's razor is your friend.
  11. Also, he'll apparently wear #25. Should we retire it now or wait a few weeks?
  12. Sweet Baby Jesus II. Hopefully better than Electric Boogaloo.
  13. Also, what number does he wear? 17? 77?
  14. 6-5, 4 home runs, 3 triples, 5 stolen bases, 1.200 fielding percentage. But no pressure.
  15. Well, there ya go.
  16. I find the ABW fanboys on this site irritating, as I'm sure most do, but it is true that he produces and has done at every stop. That gets pointed out several times per thread. Even if the thread is about other players. That said, it's also true that he has glaring flaws in his game. There's a reason he's polarizing. (And it's not just because his parents post here several times a day, with random words in bold, about how awesome he is.) He swings and misses a lot. He swings at bad pitches a lot. But somehow he still has pretty good numbers. I'm about as in-the-middle on him as you can get. I think you go slow with him. Probably nothing more than a single level a year. I think if he makes it and has an opportunity to get consistent at bats, he could do good things in the MLB. I also think that he may never figure out off speed pitches and get killed by crafty pitchers as early as AAA. But I do think it's nice that he's produced well so far, and I hope sincerely that he will continue to do so.
  17. This is well-received news. I think it was time for Santana to head back to the minors to work on things without the pressure of trying to live up to last year's BABIP-driven success. Frankly, I wasn't quite sure why Vargas got sent down in the first place, but I'm not a stat expert nor privy to the discussions that team brass are having on their players. In any case, from where I'm sitting, this is good news, and a smart move to make.
  18. Contracts are guaranteed. Also, did you type that on a mobile device?
  19. Awesome. Mine usually just talks to me about girls.
  20. This is absolutely, 100% correct.
  21. Boom. Escobar the power hitter. Somebody should make him DH.
  22. Mauer pinch hitting. I assume Escobar slides back to LF, and Plouffe to 3B?
  23. I'm looking at the stats and trying to get caught up. Hughes looked like he threw a ton of strikes but allowed a lot of hard contact. Correct? Twins bats haven't shown up yet? Maybe now that there's a reliever.
