  1. Credit to some other guy on some other forum, no guarantees as to accuracy. Joe Mauer's last 15 plate appearances against tonight's White Sox starter Gavin Floyd have played out as follows: Single Intentional Walk Intentional Walk Double Single Homerun Single Intentional Walk Homerun Double Single Hit by pitch Single Walk Intentional Walk
  2. Against a pitcher like Sale would be the perfect time to yank Morneausie in favor of any right-handed hitting warm body. *cough* Valenshia *cough*
  3. You weren't the only one, I had to go check the official roster to be sure.
  4. Beautiful.
  5. As per my previous posts, I never advocated a full platoon, merely that having Valencia on the bench getting the occasional at-bat against lefties makes considerably more sense than Parmelee rotting on the bench doing absolutely nothing. Basically it boils down to this for me. Parmelee potential future + not rotting + getting full-time ab's in AAA >>>>> Valencia potential future + rotting + getting some ab's vs lefties
  6. Is there a better option right now? There's nothing stopping you from sending him back down later when/if one becomes available. And as DPJ pointed out, he's not some young kid anymore, the amount of improvement is likely to be very minimal, almost certainly less than the improvement you would hope to expect from Parmelee.
  7. Naked batting practice guy?
  8. I can't put together more than a handful of coherent sentences at any one time, otherwise I would. Besides, snark is best served short and sweet.
  9. Pretty much, get what value out of him while you can, the chances are pretty good there isn't a huge future ahead of him.
  10. Or the inspiration for my avatar, Delmonatello.
  11. That about sums it up. Parmelee's roster spot is basically unused at this point and he would be better served playing every day. They don't need to go full platoon with Morneau, but it wouldn't hurt to give him a few breaks against them either.
  12. Alright, back on topic, the sudden and tragic death of BYTO.
  13. Having Valencia around to hit lefties occasionally makes more sense than having Parmelee rot on the bench.
  14. RIP a Gold Glove second baseman with a .300 average.
  15. They're not just 7.5 back, they're also 7 back, and 5.5 back, and 2.5 back. Being in 2nd at 7.5 back is one thing, but they have to lap every other team in the division as well.
  16. A very large part of me hopes that those plate appearances come in a different uniform.
  17. He literally isn't too far off. The joys of BaseballReference.... Since 1901, position players with more than 450 career plate appearances, Drew is tied for the 8th worst OPS+. And he's within spitting distance of sole possession of 3rd place.
  18. If everyone else does their job it doesn't matter how abysmal he is.
  19. Dick, "Morneau used to be equally good against lefties." Nevermind the nearly .200 point OPS difference in his career splits. It's crap like this that leads to the "un"education of the average fan watching the game.
  20. You mean besides being one of the worst baseball players in the entire league?
  21. That wasn't a wild pitch, that was a lazy job of catching.
