Is there a major league play by play guy that does a worse job of describing what's happening on the field than Dan Gladden?
For the love of all that's good in the game of baseball, keep him away from PbP duties. His performance at the end of the game was beyond atrocious.
The league ERA for starters in 2009 was 4.62, his was over a half run lower. Even if his ERA had been closer to his FIP, he still would have been an above average starter. He may be abysmal now, but he hasn't always "sucked."
Gladden is an incredibly lousy play-by-play guy. The broadcast quality immediately goes down the crapper when he takes over the pbp duties.
They really, really need to keep him in his color role at all times.
