  1. Way too much is made of Ben's arm strength (or lack thereof) and even though I agree it is his greatest weakness I don't think it counts him out as a big league outfielder. The Twins mentality is fundamental baseball, and all Ben needs to do is use his vast range to make up for the weak arm, and be as accurate as he can when hitting the cut off. People!! There is a reason teams take infield/outfield practice everyday, there is a reason the cutoff man exists... This guy is a premier player, a great asset to our team, and just flat out fun to watch. I think the signing of Buxton last night may show us all that the Twins do think highly of Revere, because the may be setting themselves up for an outfield like this in a few years: Revere (LF) Buxton (CF) Hicks (RF).
  2. Read this article a see his quote after he was drafted. He is a young guy who is clearly not used to that much attention. I have think we made a killing on this pick!
  3. Great outing by P.J., first complete game all year for a twins SP! Justin's homer is a nice sign, he really seems to be swinging with authority since he came back.
  4. Slowey has a 5.14 ERA and is 3/3 in for the Indian's AAA club... Who knows where he would even be in the Twins organization right now if he were still here. We ran him out of town because he was refusing to be a "team guy" and pitch in the pen. At least Marquis basically told everyone including the media that he sucks after his latest start. I'm not a Marquis apologist, but don't think that Kevin Slowey would be a more viable option, it was time for him to go somewhere else and pout.
  5. Get him up here! hopefully after that awful performance by Gray last night, we are able to move in Oliveros and DFA Gray all together!
  6. I think with the group of FA pitchers on the market after this year Greinke is nice but the Twins have lots of options right now. Here is a list of guys I just pulled off mlbtraderumors.com http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/04/2013-mlb-free-agents.html They are quite a few big name guys that we can go after and while Greinke is an attractive option, he's not the end all be all.
  7. I can vouch for that theory... I am a season ticket holder have been since 2006 and absolutely hate watching the Twins lose. To say that at this point in the season one would have mixed feelings about winning more because we end up with worse picks in the draft is ridiculous. We are 39 games into the season and just won three in a row with the big guns coming back into the line up. I can appreciate being hesitant to give them too much credit, but I just enjoy watching the boys hitting the ball around and actually competing. ESPECIALLY with the young guys in the lineup! GO BULL DOZIER!
  8. This is meant to be a joke right?...
  9. I say get rid of Capps right now, and shift Perk into the closer role... Duensing/Franky/Burton/Burnett are your team of set up guys. I know Capps worked on this great new pitch and has had decent success this year, but I am tired of watching the end of a game where we have a one run lead and just waiting for Capps to give it up. I was in AZ last year and went to the back to back games he blew saves in, never have I been more sure of a pitcher not being our closer. Matt Crapps needs to go blow saves somewhere else... not here!
  10. I agree that he was not very good anywhere else, especially in the middle infield... however I would trust Cuddy making a throw from short to 1st any day before I'd trust Plouffe with it. Either way, if Mauer needs rest and you don't feel ready to play Morneau at first tonight because of his wrist, somebody has to fill in at first. I would bet that you see Plouffe there before Willingham, Plouffe is our "role player" this year and Josh already made it very clear that he is most comfortable in LF. MLB.com has Josh only playing in 3 games (4 total innings) in his career at first...
  11. And if Doumit can't go because he is still suffering from his celebration related injury, you shift drew in to catch, and the lineup looks like this... Span (CF) Dozier (SS) Morneau (1b) Willignham (lf) Ploufe (rf) Cassilla (2b) Butera © Carrol (3b) Diamond (P)
  12. This is an interesting dilemma for the Twins to have... In my opinion it all falls on whether or not Morny can play in the field for sure tonight, if not all three games. If you are looking to give Joe a much needed break, and also can't put Morneau in the field yet, then who will play first? Jamey Carrol, Doumit, Dozier? Man I miss the good ole' days when Cuddy could just slide from one position to the next on a days notice... I would like to see the lineup like this tonight: Span (CF) Dozier (SS) Morneau (1b) Willignham (lf) Doumit © Ploufe (rf) Cassilla (2b) Carrol (3b) Diamond (P)
  13. With his double last night maybe Gardy thought it was too important to keep Drew in the lineup.... NOT!!!
  14. I truly think we will see Frankie have a mental breakdown tonight... 2 bombs back to back. Right into the fire!
