  1. Or the "do the Phillies have a competent Front Office?" question can be put to rest.... Just because Barry Zito got 100 million several years ago doesn't mean that was his "value"
  2. Revere for Worley straight up would have been a good trade. Revere for May straight up would have been a great trade. I can't believe we got both of these guys. Face it, Revere had maybe one year where he would be our best CF option. There is a good chance that by June he would have been back to a 4th OF anyways due to Hicks.
  3. Wow, amazing trade. The TR haters should be eating a lot of Crow these days. Also, Philly fans will looooooovvveeeeee Revere...haha.
  4. I know that I was talking about who the twins got in that trade to help them win it all in 91
  5. It should be noted that dickey is coming off a Cy Young winning season, I'm pretty sure guys like that don't get traded for peanuts.... Just ask frank viola and the 1991 World Series champion Minnesota Twins
  6. I would only do it if the Twins could bring in A-Rod as well, to help give competition for Plouffe at 3B, also maybe a veteran guy like Vernon Wells could help stabilize the FO
  7. you have to create competition for these jobs Brock1978 joke.
  8. Makes you wonder if the option years become guaranteed if he gets traded... Why would that happen?
  9. So because he had 76 bad games last year he suddenly is a bust? He was a top 100 guy pre 2011 and pre 2012. His stock has dropped no doubt, but still has the potential to hit for a .800 OPS and has 20-25 HR power. Way to early to write the kid off yet.
  10. I'm thinking no way. Meyer isn't "to far" off, but he still has to work on a few things before he is major league ready. 1. He needs to fix his mechanics, hopefully this doesn't take to long, but it will take some time. 2. He needs to work on his accuracy. 3. He needs to continue to develop his change up. The good news is he has already shown quite a bit of progression in regards to #2 and #3 Also, the Twins have zero real need to try to rush him.
  11. Dodgers are apparently shopping him. Get it done TR!
  12. Not even close to enough "eaten" 10 mil for one year of a guy who has pitched like 117 IP in the past two season is to much. Especially if you are giving up a legit prospect in Benson.
  13. Are you advocating the Twins taking on most of the $30 million still owed to him? (1 year+buy out) Absolutely not. There is a good chance Johan fails to pitch 120 innings again, and who knows how "quality" those would be anyways. If the Mets want to pick up $25 mil of the 30 owed then I would toss them a prospect back...maybe but it wouldn't be anyone in the top 15, that is for sure.
  14. Couldn't like any team in the league have gotten Guerra for free recently? Why on earth would they want him in any sort of trade?
  15. Gomez+Humber+Guerra+the Corpse of Kevin Mulvey for Johan. Get it done JR!
  16. The chances of JJ Hardy coming back to Minnesota are about the same as my chances to hook up with Kate Upton: About 50/50.
  17. What a refreshing and new take that I haven't read before! Please tell me more!
  18. Can we please stop talking about that worthless sack of **** Nishioka? I hope that guy gets thrown out of Japan for terrible play, not before he makes the WBC though, and gets beaned in the back by Berrios.
  19. Im pretty sure Nolan Ryan knowns Derek Holland isnt an ACE. Maybe he thinks he is a low end #2. His stats definitely indicate he is not an ace. Just like the poster above, I think getting him out of Texas would be great for him. Ryan obviously knows he's not an ace, thats why he's pushing for Greinke to replace him. That doesn't mean he's not going to use his age and team friendly(ish) deal to ask for an ace's expected return. I don't know how the Twins could get him without losing at least one of their big name prospects. Yeah, it could be argued that Holland has quite a bit more "value" then Span...and look at what Washington had to send back in order to get him. We are looking at a minimum of one of Rosario/Hicks/Arcia most likely.
  20. lmao, Holland is not an ace and he won't be a Cy Young candidate. With that said I would take him in a heartbeat, and would give up Revere+Morneau in a heartbeat for him. But I doubt the Rangers would bite on a 4th OF and an expensive injured 1st baseman. I'm not sure why people want to trade Doumit, we finally get a really nice back up C and we want to dump him? Ummm, no thanks to 200+ at bats from Drew ****ing Butera.
  21. The time to trade for Tillman was last year when the org was sorta down on him, now I think his price will be a bit to high. (Certainly not worth Morneau straight up)
  22. With trading Span, and now shopping both Revere and Morneau I think it means Ryan thinks the Twins have some in house replacements who can take over very soon (at about 28x less money wise then Morneau in this case) If the Twins trade Morneau, they suddenly have the payroll flexibility to sign two top tier free agent pitchers. Color me intrigued.
  23. ****ing Obama! The players Union was founded in 53. It gained strength in the early 70's. What does Obama have yo do with that? Nixon and Ford were president then. Whoa! No way? Thanks for clearing that up for me!
  24. Hicks is certainly ready defensively, the question is, is his bat ready. He hit well in AA last year so it isn't crazy to think he could at least hold his own in the majors, my issue is starting his clock early, but at the end of the day if you can trade Revere for anything of value you do it.
  25. Do you understand how unions work? Honest question.
