  1. True, but maybe it helps get you pieces that you can turn around and trade for a SS/C?
  2. Rosario or Hicks absolutely should NOT be traded in order to dump Nolasco. The Twins have plenty of payroll flexibility and while it sucks having Nolasco's money on the books the Twins can easily just eat it instead of giving up a stud OF like Hicks or Rosario.
  3. C can be temporarily fixed by grabbing AJ for next to nothing. C/SS can be fixed next season by trading Plouffe. Sano to 3B Arcia/Hunter type for a DH platoon.
  4. Chuck Knoblauch Tries a home remedy to fix the yips http://40.media.tumblr.com/6ec407306a1be6ef45fb06fbee07ae48/tumblr_nnronv6quv1sgw7hlo1_500.jpg
  5. More troubling news for former Twin Ron Washington http://40.media.tumblr.com/7b45d9d2471ffd03b0d0720aa204ea3f/tumblr_nkaywkp6P01s5tlmxo1_250.png
  6. Max Kepler gets called up to AAA and quickly finds himself being influenced by his teammate Arcia. http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/simpsons/images/5/5f/Tapped_Out_Uter_Unlock_Artwork.png
  7. the Mets would be foolish to give up wheeler for Bruce. Also the Mets have no room to take on any payroll, they wanted The Brewers to kick in to help pay for Gomez and his meager 9 mil next year.
  8. 1. I would let him pitch out of the bullpen in 2015, then I would sign him to a 5 year 80 million dollar deal (avoid arbitration) I would then test him as a SP in spring training, if he can't pitch like an ace or a high end #2, then slot him back in the bullpen and you have a shutdown guy for 5 years. 2. Walker and it isn't even close.
  9. papelbon has another year control. Chapman is better no doubt, but Kepler is significantly better than what Washington gave up
  10. Looking at the other RP traded this year, I don't think Berrios would be needed to get Chapman. Maybe you toss in a guy like Hu or Gonsalves instead of a PTNBL
  11. Kepler+Harrison+Milone+PTBNL for Aroldis Chapman+Jay Bruce Why it makes sense for the Twins: Chapman is on the short list for best RP in the game, over his last 4 seasons he has a 16.1 k/9 ratio, 1.93 ERA, 1.65 FIP. He instantly gives Minnesota one of the top 1/2 bullpen punches in the league along with Perkins. (Who closes is irrelevant) and is under team control next year as well. (The Twins would get a comp pick if he were to depart via free agency in 2017) Bruce adds some much needed left handed hitting with pop to the lineup, he should hit 25+ HR this year, and currrently sports a .827 OPS. He is only 28 and has posted an OPS+ of 118 or higher in every year dating back to 2010 with the exception of 2014 which is a clear outlier. He has hit 30+ HR 3 times, Additionally he isn't a black hole against LHP hitting .737 against them for his career, so he could be an everyday option, his fielding in RF is pretty solid and gives the Twins a good option in RF or DH if need be. His contract is reasonable and is owed 12.5 million in 2016 with a 13 mil team option in 2017. If the Twins ultimately prove to not need his services sometime in 2016, he can easily be flipped. Why it makes sense for the Reds: The Reds are in a full rebuild, Kepler gives them a high impact bat who could help them in the corner OF as early as next year, Milone is a cheap option that slots into the rotation and should be a solid NL #4 type. Thoughts?
  12. no, Rosario also has a very strong minor league record which indicates this is no fluke.
  13. The Mariners are also by far the biggest underachievers in the MLB this year and have a manager who isn't super highly regarded, I wouldn't read too much into it as he will be fired shortly anyways.
  14. LHP vs LHB, you play the percentages!!!11111!!!!1!!!1!1!!1!1!!!1!!!one!!
  15. Could TR sound anymore like a swarmy jerk with those quotes? Acting like everyone else is so stupid and he is so much smarter. There are PLENTY of upgrades that won't cost much more than a PTNBL: AJ Benoit Or 60 other RP who are better than what we have.
  16. I think he will be a key part for the next 2-4 years, not so much 6-7. It was more about the youngsters (and Dozier who has came into his own very recently)
  17. I think you gotta keep Polanco up and give him a shot at SS everyday. Perfect time to cut Robinson? Make Santana the temp 4th OF/Super util guy? Or you could send Santana down to AAA of course.
  18. Rosario and hicks both hitting .300 more or less, Sano a stud, dozier a stud, buxton is almost can't miss. Solid solid solid core for the next 6-7 years. Regardless of what happens this year, it's gonna be a fun next several years. Rosario hitting LHP the past couple games might be the most encouraging thing of all.
  19. Yeah, because when I think of truthful and non corrupt governments, poor African countries come to my top of mind.
  20. The original trade actually makes a good amount of sense, Gibson is a ground ball pitcher and relatively affordable for the next several years, both are important for the Yankees due to stadium, and ridiculous payroll (they can't add as much as some people think) Probably not an option for now, but prior to 2016 I think its a real possibility, wouldn't mind them tossing in Heathcott as well as a buy low type guy.
  21. "Mr. Ryan, 5-13 5.19 ERA starting pitchers don't grow on trees, 11 million over two years is an absolute STEAL for a pitcher of Mike Pelfrey's talent"- Scott Boras
