  1. Why 5? Just nominate one moderate. If the GOP blocks it, it completely loses them the Independent vote overall, not only for the POTUS but for the senate as well. (Personally I prefer a liberal court overall, but think it's important we get a lot of moderates on as well)
  2. I think Elliot has the best shot (though I think it takes him some time) Larson could have a nice year as well IMO. The Dillon bros need some more work I think. Austin finishing top 20 overall this year would be a nice win for him. 3 years down the road I am looking fwd to Cole Custer
  3. some would agure the rights he tried to deny women, homosexuals and minorities were more disgusting then anything that was said in this thread...
  4. Sprint unlimited was fun to watch tonight. Other notes: Much is being made about the charter rule and lowering to 40 cars per race. I love it, along with the new overtime rules. Predictions: Keselowski and junior both have nice bounce back years and end up in the top 4 end of year. Truex continues to shine. Elliot struggles in the full time series in year one. Danica has her best year by far, makes the chase. Penske both drivers in the last 4.
  5. Recording it, just finished watching a pretty awesome NASCAR "exhibition race".
  6. Yeah agreed pretty much 100% on this. I disgareed with him on almost everything, but I respect him wholly, that's a hell of an accompolishment. (I don't have that respect for a lot of former presidents or VP bush....cough....Cheney.....Reagan cough)
  7. "Good timing"-mike Yeo
  8. (This is what Trump and Cruz want you to believe)
  9. Depends on who he nominates: moderate? Maybe. Liberal: no way.
  10. Supreme Court justice Scalia passes away at 79, not a big fan, but I still give a lot of respect to anyone who has enough of a background to be a Supreme Court Judge. This is going to be very interesting in terms of the election as well....
  11. That's actually false. Another false hood is "oh criminals just steal guns" when in fact only 10% of guns used in a crime were "stolen" the majority of which were either purchased legally, or in a straw sale.
  12. Yup, appalling really.
  13. Things take time, if it decreases mass shootings 5% over 1 year, and 10% over 5 years that is a great start. It took airlines a long time to become as safe as they are today, 30+ years of hard word, and lots of solutions/fixes. That's how we need to view gun control. Nothing is going to "fix" the problem tomorrow, but you gotta start somewhere, then ideally in 30-40 years the numbers can be cut by 50%+ overall.
  14. Um, there is a huge loop hole called the gun show loop hole and numerous private sales of guns that skate around the background checks. So, basically, those don't work at all. If you are a felon you can easily buy a gun without getting a background check from a gun show or from some dude out of the trunk of his car and the seller can't get in any trouble. Yes, Reagan, literally one GOP guy actually EVENTUALLY support some form of Gun Control. However like everything else when it came to Reagan it was 110% political, ah yes, Reagan, the man who loved American's so much that he actively worked against getting the Iranian hostage crisis American's released back to America some 90 days earlier...so that he could have the "win" when he had his inauguration. Always kind of amazing how he didn't get more **** (or impeached) for that nonsense.
  15. I think holding a document that is 250 years old as an end all be all for guidance is a terrible idea..... So yes I would love to take a match to parts of the constitution and start anew personally.
  16. I don't think people have a problem with calling up minor league journey men, people have a problem with the Twins Continuing to roster MAJOR league journey men.
  17. It would be if the Twins went to a 26 man roster, without a doubt.
  18. Wow, just wow. I imagine you would change your tune pretty quickly if someone you knew was killed in a shooting. As far as planes go: there have been like dozens of mass shootings since the last US airline crash. Also every time an airplane crashes the FAA, Govt etc more or less spend tons of time and effort to fix the problem and make planes more safe moving fwd, aviation has come along ways in the last 30-40 years because when "**** happens" airlines and the FAA don't say "oh well a sacrifice has to be made" they say "we can't allow this to happen again, period!" They goto work and they make airlines safer then they ever have been before! Also go ahead and check out the stats of American based airline deaths and shooting deaths over the last twenty years (even toss in 9/11 for good measure) it doesn't come close. Imagine if we tried to actually "fix" a mass shooting problem after it happened instead of just throwing our hands up in the air.
  19. I love people who say gun control would never work. Literally look at NYC as 100% proof that gun control lowers the murder and violent crime rates significantly.
  20. He wouldn't benefit from it on this team. The twins fascination with carrying 3 catchers and 13 pitchers will prevent that even if they get to 26 total
  21. It should be noted that a lot of the food/lodging/travel are all paid for the 50% of the time the players are on the road anyways. Often times guys in the low minors are set up with a host family as well, eliminating housing costs and food costs once again. I mean it's still a small amount of money, but expenses aren't crazy.
  22. I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic....or at least I hope he/she was... :-/
  23. Yeah, have heard of a few, and actually I think I'm going to buy a cow "share" this spring. My thing is, I am a big fan of the butchering process itself, so I would want to do all the cleaning/carving etc it's weirdly therapeutic I find. But that's next to impossible here in the city. Will just have to stick to sausage making for now buying the venison at a local butcher. Also this is way off topic, but I reccomend sausage making to anyone.
  24. I actually don't think it's a bad thing at all! Finding a true #2 in MLB is not easy, and those type of pitchers end up getting 55-80 million dollars on the free agent market! I hope he puts up Garza like production, however people that assume he will be an "ace" may end up dissapointed (when they shouldn't be) Agreed, Law doesn't "hate him" he just simply states he isn't some shut down top tier ace (which are super rare anyways)
  25. This is why I always find it annoying when people complain about how guys like Mauer, Grienke etc get paid the big bucks, they earned it plain and simple and by them taking max value they are estentially helping out all the lower paid major league players as well. As far as minor league pay: it sorta is what it is. The minor league teams aren't exactly raking in the money. I would like to see them increase it a bit, but I don't see it happening.
