  1. Syrcause in the final 4 really rubs me the wrong way, they never should have been in the tournament to begin with, and then got a cake walk of matchups up to the elite 8, beating Virginia is nice no doubt but that was more of a meltdown on the Cavaliers part then Syracuse winning. With that said, as a Sooner fan (heading to Houston for the final four) I am hoping Syracuse wins so the Sooners can kick their asses in the championship
  2. I still have OU and UNC alive. Boomer Sooner!
  3. Buddy Hield is a good basketball player.
  4. Yes he did, but again that is when he was performing poorly on the field, and is actually the point I was making early in this thread. If Sano struggles and dips below where he should be (hell even if he dips below .900 OPS) then by all means you can write this stuff if you want (I think it remains garbage but at least it makes a little sense at that time) But to write this stuff now? Ridiculous, that would be like the Yankees complaining about CC when he was a perennial top 5 Cy Young performer for them.
  5. Yeah I have heard this "Hilary is a war lover" meme amongst the Sanders crowd a lot lately. Give me a freaking break, she isn't the one saying we need to goto War with Iran and everyone else. She isn't pro-war in the least.
  6. Spring Training stats are pointless, no he shouldn't have "lost it" Let's look at the numbers that actually count: Major League regular season (and post season if the Twins ever get there) numbers: Duffey: 3.10 ERA, 8.2 k/9, 2.1 BB/9, 3.24 FIP all as a starter. No Duffey didn't "lose it" the Twins let Nolasco "steal it"
  7. Oh and Miguel Sano is built like a tank that would make the Germans jealous. Perhaps he isn't able to "lose" weight at this stage and is continuing to grow? I hear a lot of crazy things in NYC, but I have yet to hear one Yankee fan complain about how Babe Ruth or even David Wells looked.
  8. I saw this flick today and I was actually pretty impressed, it had it's issues, but then again so does every super hero movie (sans Guardians and Deadpool) I'd rather watch this then the terribly boring Avengers flicks or another X-Men snoozefest.
  9. As of now his natural position is 3rd base, he has handled 3rd just fine in the minors the last 5 years and in his cup of coffee at the position for the Twins last year he looked the part.
  10. If I was Sano I would be pretty mad about this article. He patiently waited for his turn to make the majors (never speaking out when he was in the minors) and when he was called up all he did was completely destroy the ball and put up some of the best raw power numbers for a 21 year old rookie in the history of baseball. The team "anointed" him the 2016 RF and he didn't publicly complain (or privately complain) one bit whatsoever. Every quote his teammates have given in regards to him have been nothing but glowing, how he tapped the veterans for advice on how to face specific pitchers etc Meanwhile it was merely suggested that Nolasco MIGHT start the season in the bullpen and he throws a tantrum and says he will seek a trade. But he is a veteran so I guess the Twins brass and media will let that one slide. Then to top it off he is given crap about switching agencies (something that a lot of players do) and a passive aggressive jab on him capitalizing, during the off-season on improving his brand. God forbid he makes a few bucks signing autographs/building his brand in the same season when the Twins are paying him the major league minimum, oh the humanity! Oh, and because he does this, he suddenly has to deal with rumors that he is "broke" because he was so foolish that his family and friends milked him out of all his money (even though there has not been a SHRED of evidence that is the case) So let's refresh: All Sano has done is hit the absolute cover off the ball, be a good teammate, kept his nose clean and hasn't complained once about this stupid position change the Twins are forcing on him (Make no mistake about it, moving Sano to the OF is a very, very dumb mistake, something that extremely few other franchises would do) and how does he get repaid? A bunch of passive aggressive and a couple non passive aggressive jabs at him from the Twins brain-trust/anonymous sources and Reusse. Seriously what is with Minnesotans (and their media) and their constant need to crap on their own star players? Mauer, Sano, Parise, Rubio, Love, Ortiz. Just gives more proof that Minnesota Nice is actually Minnesota passive aggressive. Of course if he was a 39 year old paid 10.5 million to put up the 2nd worst numbers amongst all active OF he would be treated with kid gloves (even after making a bunch of comments re: gay marriage, Dominicans not being "real blacks" etc and even taking punches at teammates you know "the Twins way")
  11. Or the Twins could play him at his natural position (3B) for a few years, and then cross the 1B/DH road when they need to...of course that would force them to decide what to do with an average player who is getting more expensive who currently occupies the 3rd base position, decisions, decisions...
  12. Yes, 21 one year olds often continue to grow/put on weight as t hey go through their early twenty's. The minute he stops hitting .900 then by all means go ahead and focus on his weights or some negatives, until then it's just cheap.
  13. Hrbek was a HUGE reason why the Twins won two world series, frankly I am quite satisfied with his career and career choices. I'm sure David Ortiz could have been in better shape as well, but I am pretty sure Red Sox fans are pretty happy with the career he has put forth for them.
  14. Yankees should pick him up.
  15. Duffey vs Nolasco That's like asking if I prefer steak over spam.
  16. Well said. Could you imagine if the Red Sox tried to move Ortiz (back in the day) to the OF? The fans would have torn the front office to shreds, but for whatever reason in Minnesota the fans and especially the media seem to constantly give ownership, front office etc the benefit of the doubt, and continue to blame the players (i.e. Parise, Mauer, Sano, Garza, Ortiz, Liriano) hit pieces.
  17. TTW of course!!! (The Twins Way)
  18. But still 500,000 votes is a lot to make up/find missing etc Yeah it probably would have taken some time, but that's fine, it already did take some time and essentially the supreme court were the ones who chose/picked Bush as the winner that year.
  19. Pitchers already adjusted to him in 2015, he made the adjustments needed then and did just fine, I trust 2016 will see more of the same.
  20. How so? Gore had over 500,000 more votes than Bush overall, while it certainly was "close" it was a full half percentage point.
  21. Fair enough, but Sano up until this point has done NOTHING wrong. Going home and visiting your family during the winter break is not wrong, switching agencies is not wrong, doing an autograph session during your own time is not wrong. Molitor is talking down on him when he hasn't done anything wrong. The minute Sano gets in off the field trouble or doesn't get along with his teammates then by all means bring this up. The minute Sano stops hitting bombs at a 35+ HR pace as a 22 year old with a .900+ OPS then feel free to bring up his weight. Until that time, Molitor/Reusse need to stop with the jabs when there is frankly nothing there. This just reeks of Sano not being the "Twins way", we finally get a player who shows a little attitude (while still loving the game), is knowledgeable enough to capitalize on his own brand (by signing with Roc Nation) and we start seeing these comments and articles. Let's go down a list of the other guys who weren't the "Twins way" and we saw these type of articles come out: David Ortiz Matt Garza Francisco Lirinao hmmm....
  22. It's almost like, I didn't imply that at all, but good work putting words into my mouth! If he was/is a bad teammate, gets in off the field trouble or was failing to show up for REQUIRED work/days, then by all means he should be held accountable. But switching agencies? Visiting friends and family in his home country during the off-season? Seems cheap.
  23. I and many others would argue that neither is acceptable, plunking someone in the ass can often lead to them "accidentally" plunking them somewhere else on the body where you can actually do some damage to a player. Violence/assault frankly has no place in baseball.
  24. Does he actually have any proof of this? Or is he just "guessing"? I would guess the latter.
  25. He was 16 when he was a SS at no point did anyone actually think he had a shot to stick at SS. He actually went from a SS to a 3B in 5 years, and he still should be a third baseman, how is he a 1B/DH type again? The Twins seem ok running him out to the OF every game...
