yes and yes Go into next year with co-closers. AND get another set up guy ready, so Gardy can figure out how to use Perkins/Burton besides the 9th inning after some slug has blown the close game open.

Manship? Really? Nick Blackburn PT 2 Has been a tough year in the bigs. I don't think the Twins need to use innings to determine him as a viable starter. They already have enough 5/6/7 starters in the rotation without adding another.
  3. Mr. Ed
I thought TField was spacious as well. When your BAA is over .300, there is no field that is spacious enough.
  4. Mr. Ed
I think he's done. Arm worn out. Cut losses, tell him to go home. Gain nothing by him returning at this point.
  5. Mr. Ed
And neither are the Twins if they continue to retain players that are this bad.
  6. Mr. Ed
Walters has been getting about 3 innings per outing, as was the case Sunday night. Must be on a pitch count.
  7. Mr. Ed
Because the Twins are stubborn, not liking to give up on too many guys and still have to pay them? I don't know. There can be no other explanation. Just lousy.

#26 for Sano Sunday. Error #41 Saturday night.
  9. Mr. Ed
Plouffe has to get it figured out. Twins threw all their eggs into that basket. Now he can't get hits since coming off the DL. And Gray Stinks. Again. The Blackburn of the bullpen.

    http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120817&content_id=36873984&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_milb Story on 11K outing Friday 8/17

Tosoni outrighted to AA to make room for Carson

18 games left Call up Parmelee Hendriks Vasquez Hernandez Escobar Dozier and from AA Hicks Arcia
  13. Mr. Ed
Vasquez will have to take someone's spot on the 40 man roster. Could be a tough decision, seeing all the talent that is on this loaded roster.
  14. Mr. Ed
Pedro Hernandez, too. Might be the next Scott Diamond

Twins have made an effort to make Roch better. Glynn, Bruno and Cuellar have done a pretty good job making chicken salad out of this, having them in playoff contention. SOME talent coming thru the org. Should get better at least offensively next 2 years. Pitching? Anyone's guess. Pedro Hernandez has had a couple good outings in a row, Esmerling Vasquez now flourishing as a starter. Hendriks does well at AAA Cuellar is a guy I've felt should be given a shot at ML pitching coach. Not sure why that's never happened.
  16. Mr. Ed
Parmelee is apparently not trusted, and perhaps rightfully so, to log a lot of outfield innings in RF. Unless they move some guys in the off-season, there will be no room for him in Gardy's lineup.
  17. Mr. Ed
Vasquez has really come on as a starter, after numerous bullpen years.
  18. Mr. Ed
Add another HR to the total thanks to meatball DeVries
  19. Mr. Ed
Absolutely. Same applies to pitching. They've done quite lousy overall of late.
  20. Mr. Ed
yet no mention on Carroll's D last night in the postgame stuff. He's no longer a SS, but will likely command too many innings there. Lowered expectations with this team. Slug hitters in the middle is ok as long as they can play D. Shows what happens when the talent pool is thin.
  21. Mr. Ed
Romero also has 70 rbi's, can play either corner infield spot(tho not his specialty) Keep him if possible, bump to AAA next year, invite to ST
  22. Mr. Ed
Given what I read this morning, it's not terribly surprising. Why rush him back? May as well be careful with him. Don't rush him back. Just DL him. Get another bat for this extremely thin bench.
  23. Mr. Ed
Span out another game. Give them about 4 or 5 more before they decide to DL him.
  24. Mr. Ed
It's a testament to the catching awesome-ness of Doumit. Drew is on the team why? Oh yeah, team cheerleader.
  25. Mr. Ed
If only that were true. 2 of the most secure jobs in baseball.
