    Raise your hand if you thought Trevor Plouffe would be leading the team in homeruns 63 games into the season.

    This is probably the most reasonable explanation. Having him play sparingly for a week or so isn't going to kill his development, and it's nice to have a capable left-handed hitter available on the bench while the schedule allows them to go with a 4 man rotation. Also, I think there was some uncertainty surrounding Mauer's thumb (and possibly Morneau's wrist) when Parmalee was called up, so it wasn't a bad idea to have an extra first basemen around just in case those two were going to miss a few games.

    Yeah, there's no way that's correct. A 0.0% chance would mean that even if the Twins won the rest of their games and teams ahead of them lost the rest of their games, they still wouldn't make the playoffs. As it stands now, the Twins are only 8.5 games out of first with 102 games remaining....far from impossible.

    That's true. But trying to be too aggressive on the basebaths is somewhat forgivable.....those decisions by Gardy aren't.

    This is easily Gardenhire's worst performance of the year. If the Twins lose, it is 100% on him.

    Bad baserunning has cost the Twins a couple of runs tonight. It's a good thing Dozier came up with that clutch 2-out rbi though.
