  1. Maybe Molitor should wander over to the opposing dugout, and ask, "if you guys happen to score in the top of the inning, would you mind if I ran Jepsen out there to pitch the bottom?"
  2. In extra innings at home, I'll be a little surprised if anyone gets such opportunity.
  3. Welp, the Kevin Jepsen Era appears to be over. Just another bullpen arm tonight.
  4. Nice job on the bunt, by Kintzler.
  5. Odds just went way down in the bottom of the eighth. Wait and see....
  6. I mentioned that after watching runners take liberties with him in Oakland. I could not definitely say that his arm is lacking, but indeed the runners were reaching second by a hair, when normally they would have been content with a single to left. Clearly the book on him is to challenge him.
  7. Careful. We've already got the "Chief is so old that" bit. You're courting "SwainZag is so young that". / and probably those who clicked Like, too
  8. I once wrote a Unix script to construct corporate mission statements solely with phrases like these.
  9. FWIW Molitor is on record as saying "slow down, slow down". http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/06/al-notes-angels-bosox-twins-rays.html “It’s a slippery slope as far as projecting a guy into [an everyday] role who has played well for a couple months..." I suppose it's fun to throw shade, that Ryan might sign a utility guy to multi years, but that's all it is.
  10. A sufficient condition, but hardly necessary.
  11. Them, and the po-po too. "Somebody's targeting vulnerable black women? Well, let's make sure and keep an eye on this. No sense in alarming the public."
  12. Maybe you looked at Brian's writeup in the forums rather than the article. It's documented right there in the photo.
  13. An LA jury just convicted the Grim Sleeper.
  14. And trousers. Don't forget the trousers.
  15. This article presents the case BMCACAL makes. It wasn't a mistake. It was a cost of doing business. One that this team is better able to pay than most. And it was done to acquire a player who would not have been nearly as valuable to most other teams. The recent DFA action comes at a point the team feels they have wrung out of Crawford all the value they will get, but it was always secondary, apparently.
  16. The word that comes to mind is not so much presumptive as presumptuous. I'm not a Bernie Bro, but let this play out. Potentially it's only another day or two, anyway. There is this quiet narrative that superdelegates who have expressed support for a candidate are held to "no backsies". And that is clearly not how the process is defined, and Bernie has had no success is getting this across to people. He may be mistaken in how his strategy will play out, but it's simply a lie that his viable path to victory is now, ahem, "foreclosed".
  17. Until a guy fails two games in a row. Then it's "bring me someone NEW!" / I think you were being satirical, so I am just piling on
  18. Is there something magical about this ballpark that brings in money when empty?
  19. Oliver, Stewart and Colbert straddle a very strange but brilliant line between social satire and performance art, not simply comedy.
  20. None of the runner's business, then?
  21. The batter calling the sac bunt? Did he first flash the sign to the runner on first base?
  22. Macbeth was a thane, not a fortuneteller.
