  1. > Rochester Red Wings OF James Ramsey to Elizabethton I assume this is some kind of injury situation, but even so, why Elizabethton? They don't start games there for a while yet. Is this just another way of saying "extended spring training in Ft Myers", and why that, in preference to the DL? He was an off-season signing, age 28 this season, so Rookie ball clearly isn't his actual destination.
  2. I'm unconvinced. It's said that x-rays of Berra's head revealed nothing.
  3. If it became a permanent difference between the majors and minors, it could harm the perception by local fans that the games are being played competitively. That's already a problem IMO, with obvious strategic moves (lefty-vs-righty pinch hitters for example) not being employed in critical situations, and pitching moves or non-moves made with apparent orders from higher up to allow a certain number of pitches to a starter no matter what. Gimmicky extra-innings rules won't by themselves cause fans to tune out and not show up at the ball park, unless they happened to be the tipping point on top of everything else.
  4. There is an Adopt-A-Prospect page on Ben maintained by yours truly. You're hardly alone in having high hopes for the young fellow.
  5. Indeed. Here's why: For purposes of calculating earned runs under Rule 9.16, the runner who begins an inning on second base pursuant to this rule shall be deemed to be a runner who has reached second base because of a fielding error, but no error shall be charged to the opposing team or to any player. https://www.milb.com/drillers/news/minor-league-baseball-announces-pace-of-play-regulations-for-2018/c-268703358
  6. Let me introduce you to TD's friendly moderation team. / Seriously, that one's just ... no.
  7. Azimuth? Arc? http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/la-dee-da.gif
  8. In honor of Chief's dizzying intellect, I offer this for dinner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnj2ClF5C_s
  9. C'mon, Moya-zie, show us why you have a major league roster spot.
  10. I think that punchline in that format likely would have gotten me banned.
  11. "A one-hopper into the shift." "What is, things I'm tired of hearing when Logan Morrison is up, Alex?"
  12. I am disappointed at having not noticed any reaction from you regarding my recent change in signature line. Think Seinfeld might pay me some royalties to use it in his standup act?
  13. I was over at White Sox Daily mingling with the denizens there, instead of posting here, thus raising the average IQ for a time at both sites.
  14. Now is that any way to talk to someone who apparently just brought our team a little luck???
  15. I arrived late and see now that I needed to look around first before co-opting Fernando's special formula.
  16. Buckle up and strap in. It's the Aaron Bummer Experience.
  17. I hate to take away anything from "my" guy, but I don't see an RBI for Rortvedt in yesterday's box score or game log.
  18. I suppose it bears mentioning that Rortvedt is my Adopt-A-Prospect, and you can follow his progress this season here.
  19. Why, so that Grossman can fight through it instead? He's 1-for-10 with no walks and 5 SOs to start this season.
  20. I doubt if Seth is the right guy to pose the question to. Try asking in the Questions About MinnCentric and see if a useful discussion occurs. I don't want to derail this minor league thread, except to say that perhaps the intent of the site designers was to focus more on the positive. If you find something that actually violates site posting standards, feel free to click the Report button on that post. Otherwise, if you simply disagree with a poster's opinion, I suggest either just moving on, and let the poster infer from the lack of support, or else post a constructive rebuttal if you feel strongly enough about it.
