  1. I've heard the population is very dense, as well. Must be more blondes there than I realized.
  2. LS/MFT might also meet your needs.
  3. "It's hard to throw with both hands around your neck." -- Gary Gaetti
  4. Sometimes great minds think alike. And then, there's me and Chief. / The low road. We both took it.
  5. I have the same problem when driving through the red light district.
  6. They have DQs in America too. You should try one.
  7. Carnac: Jamey Carroll. Ed: Jamey Carroll. Fine player. Gritty. Solid. A gamer. Carnac: (double take) Thank you for the insights, Vin Scully. Ed: I appreciate the game played the right way, Your Magnificence. Carnac: May the fleas of a thousand reindeer infest your Christmas tree. Ed: (But Johnny, it's not Christm... never mind.) Hey yo! And the envelope? Carnac: Who is the oldest major leaguer to achieve his 1000th hit? Ed: That's not a Carnac question. Carnac: I know. I just wanted to throw that out there for consideration.
  8. Interesting. Ryan has Gardy listed the same way. / Jim Pohlad has Ryan listed as minute to minute.
  9. Bi-lateral bone bruise. Those can be tricky.
  10. Outfield bleachers, sipping a soda? I'd be fine with that.
  11. To be fair, the umpires are kind of rigging this game to make it look lopsided. All the Indians batters have 3 PA while the Twins batters have only 2. How is a team supposed to accumulate hits (and maybe even runs) with so few chances?
  12. Anyone who tells me September numbers don't mean anything when a club is out of contention, has this game (and the past several) as my counter-example. Playing against a contender that is hungry means something.
  13. Right. The book on him has always been... eerily similar.
  14. The direct object. After the verb, put it. Every now and then.
  15. If the Twins pitching coaches have spotted something in his arsenal that the BoSox pitching coaches missed when they converted him from starter to reliever a year or so ago, then I'd be all for it.
  16. Yeah, an assumption of a tasty ERA of 10 or 12 is a great setup for a humorous look at an actual game-in-progress ERA of 21.
  17. I think Gardy and Ryan are just trying to demonstrate, for the SABR crowd, the area around which replacement level exists for starting pitching. Or, some level below.
  18. I'm thinking that in the off-season Terry Ryan needs to acquire a few more pretty darn good starting pitchers.
  19. She would raise the average IQ of both groups by doing so.
  20. I was going to say sashaying, but sauntering is probably more correct.
  21. Carnac: One thousand wins Ed: One thousand wins. That could mean anything. Carnac: But according to this hermetically sealed envelope, tonight it will mean only one thing. Ed: What? Carnac: (Pst, Ed, you're supposed to do the whole Your Magnificence and Hey-Yo thing.) Ed: (Oh.) One thousand wins. Hey-yo, Your Magnificence. Carnac: May the fleas of a thousand lineup cards infest your cellar. Ed: The contents, please? Carnac: What didn't save Charlie Manuel either?
  22. I'm having trouble getting over that Norman conquest of the Anglo-Saxons, as well.
  23. I could be wrong but I think they are trying to use sex to sell automobiles.
  24. I'm sure if wore cleats I would give my all after hearing this.
