Yes, Wilson, and no, no quarrel with the glove. I failed to find a way to state that "center field" involves coming to bat against major league pitchers. You don't simply look to see if someone has CF next to his name and say, "OK, we're good then".

Putting CF next to a player's name does not make him a candidate for center field.

Lineup tba, because, you know, a team's required to list someone for each of the 9 positions in the field. / edited "8" to "9" for clarity and to keep others from having to add verbiage as a courtesy to me.

Hey, Darin can play a little centerfield. If that happens, we should grab him. And then I can re-adopt him in the Adopt-A-Prospect forum until he someday gets called up.

Hell hath no fury like a Toronto GM, scorned or not.

Dozier's the guy on the team right now who will find a way to beat the other team. Kind of an attribute of playing 2B, many times.

An essay worthy of Brian Dozier's mane, not just Trevor's.

Kenny is currently OPSing .595 for New Britain. Stay tuned as to whether he remains with the club.

Yes, he might even have been in the back of my mind as I wrote that, and a player like that is a reasonably valuable commodity. It was only when Punto was pressed into everyday use that we came to hate him. If you hold onto a guy like that until he becomes expensive, it saves you from signing the Jamey Carrolls (or late career Nick Puntos) of the world. A small but satisfying market inefficiency, maybe.

Came here to say both of these, find I don't need to. Santana won't be 24 until after the season ends, his batting resume in the minors is better than Florimon's at every step, he's not ready and should not be sniped at by his boss, but if he's up he should be playing. Not with DSantana on the roster. I like Escobar a lot, but as a utility guy. Right now he's batting over his head, but even apart from that I worry he will wear down with everyday use. If not for Santana, I'd say sure, let's find out about that worry, maybe I'm wrong. But, it seems like there is fan pressure to move guys out of roles they are succeeding at into more demanding roles (Dozier to SS?), and instead I'd like to see the guys prove themselves in roles they'll fill on the good teams we believe are on the way. Utility Infielder isn't exactly a difficult slot to fill, but still it seems like we've got a good one right now and can take satisfaction in it, rather than push him to be a mediocre starter.

You left out 11. Listen attentively... I shouldn't have to repeat things. / edit - recognition to sampleSize for beating me to the punch

Your journey to the dark side is complete.

Who are the Angels dropping from their 40-man that we get?

    Sure hope so.

Kenny Wilson? He's my Adopt-a-Prospect and I'm obliged to speak up for him, but he's OPSing .595 at AA, with lots of strikeouts. and would get chewed up by major league pitching on a Butera/Florimon scale, and could contribute defensively.
  19. ashbury
I don't think Esme was raised by the DuPonts either.
  20. ashbury
True, we win 3-0 without your mistake.
  21. ashbury
    Florimon does.
  22. ashbury
Every scorer in the league will call it the same way. It's as written in the rulebook and the scorekeeping guidelines. Unfortunately.
  23. ashbury
Yeah, that was my thought too - who else available makes that play, except the one guy they have in center?

"Apart from that, Mrs Lincoln..." / from a thread a few days ago, look it up if need be

Is Esne Murphy still on teevee?
