  1. They did indeed. And so the net result for me is that the acquisition of Kevin Jepsen solidifies our bullpen so much that... that... he replaces nobody. No pitcher is seen as instantly expendable as a result of him joining. We gave up Hu and Tapia for that. Groovy.
  2. I could do better next time by writing a better-thought-out post than my previous. Ya done good, SampleSize.
  3. Like betting on red or green at the roulette wheel? Except when zero/black comes up.
  4. I thought you and I among others put in an acceptable showing.
  5. Disappointment or worse, unfortunately., if 9-7 is the threshold
  6. Eric Fryer: "How bad do I suck as a batter? I just got pinch hit for, by the hot hitting... Danny Santana."
  7. And I bet the trade deadline feels just horrible about letting everyone down.
  8. Does Walker get a chance at the complete game? I'm thinking yes.
  9. Not really. The sloth doesn't lick its fingers about six times between moves.
  10. Walker makes Mauer look like a rookie with that two-strike curveball.
  11. No inherited runners score, while improving one's own ERA? Who are you and what have you done with Blaine Boyer?
  12. Well then let me try it a different way. Is it like having too much whiskey on your ice cubes: impossible?
  13. Sounds painful. You should make a point of not doing that in the future.
  14. This just in: Blaine Boyer is still on the 25-man roster.
  15. Brock would be aware of all our complaining, except he can't get enough bandwidth to log in, so he doesn't know there's a problem.
  16. What is your opinion on the optimum amount of balsamic vinegar on your Lucky Charms?
  17. Any score updates lately? I think it's 3-1 Mariners after 5, but my MLB.tv is balky too.
  18. A few words from Mrs Chief should adjust its attitude PDQ.
  19. I wonder if Miguel Sano has heard of the Rawlings Glove Company. / nah, I think he'll be all right
  20. "A remarkable steak, the Brown Shoeleather. Not to worry, it's just pining for the Pecos River."
  21. Another low throw from Polanco for the third out. Yes, first basemen are supposed to execute the scoop, but the SS is still putting his fate in another man's hands^H^H^H^H^H^H glove when he does it too much. I watched Polanco during spring training but evidently not enough because I don't recall this happening then. Now I understand the reserve about him sticking at short. Crossing fingers, maybe it's coachable and correctable.
  22. That 7-5 outcome suggested earlier, is starting to look like a best case scenario, all of a sudden.
  23. Couple of misplays by Sano, according to Bremer. I was going to post something snarky about the first one, but the second occurred so quickly that it would seem like piling on.
  24. While I disagree with the strategy, my guess is that the front office thought a month's worth of starts would establish some trade value for him. And the plan was to re-assess after July 31, either because they traded him or the attempt was over. It's July 31 now, so we'll see if this is right.
  25. Sounds like the voice of experience, there.
