  1. Swarzak is in, unless Doyle makes the team (which, as the Rule 5 Draft, he kind of sort of has to.)
  2. Chris Parmalee is another option for one of the corner outfield spots. As far as center field goes, Ben Revere is the only one that can fill that hole on a consistent basis.
  3. I bought two new hats (Buy one get one half off) last week. I'm not wearing any of my Twins' hats from last year. Except for my all black with white lettering, but that is only for softball.
  4. I thought it was just that everyone enjoyed "Final Countdown" as his Bullpen Entrance song, and wanted to hear it again in 2012.
  5. Why risk it? If Morneau's bat is there, he's most valuable as the team's MVP. His last concussion came in the field diving for a ball hit down the line. I know he's only 30, and if he hadn't gotten the concussion, talking this early in his career about moving him to DH would be unheard of (unless there was a Doug Mientkiewicz-style glove waiting in Triple-A with a 2006-Morneau-bat to boot) but I think taking away one area of focus of his game (the glove) would allow him to focus on an area the Twins need him to bounce back in more than the other (his bat.) Gardy, Morneau, the team, everyone should have learned from last year that bringing him back too soon is just going to make him frustrated, and that is not good for a concussed brain either.
  6. I agree Kirbydink that Span can be the one to supply the Twins with some veteran leadership. It was taught to him by Hunter, who learned it from Puckett. And, unfortunately for Span, the other two "veterans" of the Twins- Mauer and Morneau- have not done much leading in the past few years, despite their MVP and All-Star status. Both are too quiet, and neither seems willing to grasp the concept that they are the two best, so they need to lead and act like it. (I'm thinking to Souhan's article from the StarTrib this last weekend, when he called-out Mauer for not wanting to be the team-leader and wanting to be treated like a "utility player" on the team.)
