  1. That's a lot of hard contact May has allowed so far.
  2. Arraez is no Buck, clearly, but he is not terribly slow and he did a great job sliding there. On the replay I would say it was safe but unfortunately the ump said he was out and the situation not clear enough to overturn the call.
  3. Why would you release him straight away, he is valuable as backup outfielder. But it would be nice to give Wade a shot.
  4. But not sharp enough for Nellie. Yes!
  5. Good to know that I'm not the only one thinking that. It was particularly noticeable in that Carlos Santana at bat in the first inning. Kenta threw three borderline pitches of whom none was called a strike. And then several Twins hitters got called out on borderline pitches. That said, Civale definitely looks sharp.
  6. Way to make up for it though. If only Miguel had been able to build on it.
  7. I don't know, I didn't start watching until now. But if he doesn't get double plays it can only be due to no runners being on base. The amount of ground balls he gets is insane.
  8. Randy Dobnak, king of double plays...
  9. Maeda doesn't pitch Sunday, it was just announced that he starts on Monday. Edit: Sorry for the double post.
  10. But at least it was only that solo homer. Hopefully that was all the Brewers are getting tonight.
  11. Oh of course, should have noticed that. Stupid of me.
  12. Very encouraging to see Jose hitting the edges of the zone constantly after his control was so off in his last starts.
  13. I am super excited to see Jeffers in the Majors, too. Maybe we'll see Duran yet. I could imagine that the Twins would like to give Maeda an extra day of rest after he threw that many pitches. Maybe then, instead of another bullpen game? Edit: Apparently, Maeda will indeed get an extra day of rest. Could still mean another bullpen game, though.
  14. Okay, didn't know Lutz was born in the US. I only knew he was the only other real German to play in the Majors. But apparently that means "grew up in Germany".
  15. Probably. You will have to check if that ever happened to Donald Lutz...
  16. I don't understand why Rocco had to put in Rogers who has been so shaky lately and not Duffey who has been lights out. Even if Rogers is nominally the closer.
  17. This game is so worth watching even if I have to stay up the entire night for it. (I live in Europe.)
  18. Excellent pitching on both sides. There hasn't been a hit yet.
  19. Wow, that was a quick inning by Maeda.
  20. I am all for respecting the game and some of the unwritten rules have their merits but I don't understand this one. Tatis gets a good pitch and is supposed to take it because it's a 3-0 count? Hitting a home run when you're given the chance (in a game that isn't entirely out of reach) isn't what I would call showing up your opponent.
  21. I'm speechless. If you don't want a 3-0 pitch hit for a grand slam, pitch better. Instead of letting a fastball hang in the zone like an invitation. Rangers just sound like bad losers. And I sincerely hope that Tatis doesn't "learn" from this.
