  1. i agree but its solid numbers for Angel & he's still only 23 all season. He'll get on the 40 man this offseason as a 6yr FA
  2. if its Clete, he's out of options. If he doesnt do anything quick, what happens when Plouffe/Ramirez are activated as Herrmann is stickin around?
  3. Sano .337/.431/..637 Rosario .339/.379/.522 Vargas .287/.362/.544 Morales .292/.361/.514 Looking back over past 7 yrs of FSL stats, these guys stack up with anybody in the league. To be fair, most guys are promoted throughout the year & dont accumulate the 389 plate appearances to qualify.....but just for comparison/arguement sakes in the notorious pitchers league 2013....as of today 10 w/.300BAve 2 w/.400 OBP 11 w/.500Slgg 2012 5 w/.300BAve 3 w/.400OBP 1 w/.500 Slgg Chris Yelich (MIA) .330/.404/.519 2011 10 w/.300 BAve 5 w/.400 OBP 3 w/.500 Slgg 2010 4 w/.300 BAve 1 w/.400 OBP 1 w/.500 Slgg Eric Komatsu .323/.414/.442 2009 3 w/.300 BAve (Logan Schaeffer .313/BRevere .311/Starlin Castro .302) 0 w/.400 OBP 0 w/.500 Slgg 2008 6 w/.300 BAve 1 w/.400 OBP 3 w/.500 Slgg Logan Morrison .332./402/.494 2007 8 w/.300 BAve 2 w/.400 OBP 3 w/.500 Slgg Allen Craig .312/.370/.530 2006 5 w/.300 BAve 2 w/.400 OBP 1 w/.500 Slgg 2005 8 w/.300 BAve 0 w/.400 OBP 4 w/.500 Slgg Matt Kemp .306/.349/.569 Adam Lind .313/.375/.487 Just shows that not many players put up these types of numbers
  4. So would Butera or Robertson (no need for a 4th lefty anymore) and I believe MN wouldnt be disappointed at all if someone claimed Hendriks, DeVries or Hermsen. Could see Colabello up/down several times this year, so it would surprise me. Gonna be Arcia. Like ScottyB said, his 10 days arent up till TUE & that's why they wont announce it. He's spent enough time in minors to get a 7th yr of service time now (only reason he was sent down to begin with).
  5. Twins have announced its not Ramirez, who wont go on the roadtrip due to concussion
  6. Any of these means losing a player off the 40 man & none of these are worth it, but.... First thing.....play Colabello in the OF (or where Kevin Gorg says his original position is) & let Jeff Clement play 1b. More OF he can play, the better his value. Clete Thomas IS what he is. Not any better. 9-44 since coming off DL, so promoting him shows performance doesnt matter. Richardson is hitting .302 for ROC in 19gms w/.476OBP (.413slgg also)...playing FAR better than Thomas. Romero is an option due to need, but needs to show he can handle AAA first. Beresford & Olmedo are not major leaguers IMO. Olmedo has played in majors but is same as Escobar/Carroll & Beresford has played 6 career gms @ 3B. Dont need another middle infielder with Dozier/Florimon playing well. If its anything other than Ramirez, I dont see why they wouldnt keep Colabello. Again, they should add 2 position guys & drop a P. Gotta be re-activating Ramirez, or Arcia (whose ABs would be limited w/Doumit playing everyday & Parm finally hitting good).
  7. 25-29 record which plays out to a 75-87 finish. Better than I thought was possible, esp 10 days ago. Optimist says they've won 7 of last 9 Pessimist says they've lost 12 of last 19 It evens out Only Mauer over .800 in OPS Only 2 guys (M&M boys) w/BAve over .256 Mauer on pace for career high in HRs (if ya exclude his abomitnation yr) & to score 100runs for first time Closer leads team in K's by 4 Fien on pace for 81 games /Burton & Duensing for 78 Only Correia on pace for over 180IPs
  8. Last 12gms 12-43 (.279) w/.605slgg again, baby steps Did anyone catch Berts postgame comments that if Aaron keeps playing how he's playing, he's a rookie of the year candidate!!!
  9. Isnt it about time to get rid of a 13th pitcher (Casey Fien)??? Knowing the Twins medical history, smart for Colabello to keep his bags packed.
  10. What I was saying, First rounders are the only 'true' pick where you're getting a 'sure?' thing, so dont skimp on the money...take BPA, everyone should take that approach. Im not saying skip the rest of the draft as you obviously need to fill levels......but if anyone in latter rounds WAS a sure thing, they'ld be picked earlier.
  11. 4 runs in 6.2IP is not fantastic.....as was Pelfrey's 4er in 5.2IP 2 outings ago which was argued in another thread. Kevin immediately got the team behind & then again lost the lead back as soon as MN fought to tie it. Gardy woulda blasted other pitchers for this. Gets frustrating for some that this is the level we take as 'fantastic'/'good enough' these days. Save the accolades for the truly good games. You can still compliment a player without goin overboard.
  12. Both of ya kind of make my arguement.......you can find a great HOF player in way later rounds than worrying about saving money to spend it on a 4th rounder. 2nd rounders also have solid value, but spend your money there & dont fret so much about 8th/9th/10th rounders if money is an issue. Just wont like it under any circumstance if they go 'cheap' & dont take BPA.....esp for a defensive minded C w/limited offensive ability (according to scouts). We have enough Lehmans/Rohlfings in the organization
  13. There is alot of talk about MN saving money to help later in the draft. If so, that is ONLY to help out minor league depth as the Twins have shown over this century that they absolutely fail after the first round in developing major leaguers. First Rounders since 2000 with double digit games w/MN Joe Mauer, Denard Span, Kyle Waldrop, Glen Perkins, Trevor Plouffe, Matt Garza, Chris Parmelee, Ben Revere, Aaron Hicks w/Kyle Gibson on the doorstep & Byron Buxton/Jose Barrios in A ball Second Round:more than 25 gms in majors since 2000 Jessie Crain, Scot Baker, Anthony Swarzak, Kevin Slowey.....none since 05 Third Round: Jose Morales, Tyler Robertson, Brian Duensing Fourth Round: 4gms from 2000s Jason Miller Fifth Round: No picks that actually appearred directly with MN after signing Sixth Round: Pat Neshek, Chris Hermann Seventh Round: Nobody since 1996s Chad Moeller's made the majors Eighth Round: Brian Dozier/Dinkelman are only to sign/appear with MN Ninth Round: Nobody since 1998 Tenth Round: one player(Marty Cordova) since 1989 (Kyle Phillips who never played for MN) Will you be upset if MN doesnt take the best player to save money
  14. Ill give Correia credit for what he has done.....pitched 70 innings in 11 starts over first 53gms. If he gives 210 over the year, he fills a need for sure. But, he never has done a deuce & has only gotten over 171 once (198). He was good for 5 starts, bad for 6 starts.....best Twins have seen in awhile from a righty.
  15. Part of my negativity of Correia's signing/excitement is his history this decade 2010 April ..........5 starts 4W 1L 3.86ERA-- 28 IP 25h 12er 26k 10bb 2010 Rest of Yr 21starts 6W 9L 5.93ERA 112.1IP 123h 74ER 85k 52bb 2011 April ...........6starts 4W 2L 2.90 ERA --40.1IP 35h 13er 18k 9bb 2011 Rest of Yr 20starts 8W 9L 5.46ERA 113.2IP 140h 69er 59k 30bb 2012 April ....4starts 1W 1L 2.42ERA 22.1IP 15h 6er 9k 8bb 2012 Next 17 starts 8W 6L 5.13ERA 100IP 111h 57er 51k 27bb Moved to pen after Wandy Rodriguez trade (did get 5 Sept starts that were good). Correia tricks ya into believing in him in April but is well below league average after that. This is a reason he wears out his welcome quickly IMO. He's already hypnotized many Twins fans/media/manager but their will be a drastic fall that is already happenning.
  16. Got a couple of friends who know Caleb really well, so that is cool. Way better that he looks like a guy who's gonna stick & be effective.....to Casey Fien's detriment!!!
  17. says the manager, who obviously has found his new favorite. However, since May 1st (6 starts) 34IP 46h 23er 11hr 14k 7bb.......6.09ERA??? Given up 3 er in all 6 starts Only gone 6IP in 3 of last 6 starts Hillarious how low the standards have become for a Twins starter. Will Correia see an under 4 ERA the rest of the season or is it downhill to a 5+ ERA where he continues to 'throw the ball great' & 'battle his tail off'!!!
  18. again my arguement on official scoring, game winning triple where the winning run scores ending the game & Doumit is NOT halfway to third on the play.
  19. Gardy's never gonna let Correia go over 100 pitches again
  20. While Im usually very aggressive in promoting, Berrios to Ft Myers may not prove to be useful. No doubt, he starts in Ft Myers next year...so unless he absolutey starts dominating in Cedar Rapids, his time in FLA this yr wont speed up his progress thru the organization. If he's in New Brit by next July at age 20...it would be tough to not be impressed, with spring 2015 making a legit shot @ rotation.
  21. Did Kevin Gorg just say that Colabello is primarily an OF but comfortable @ 1B?? He is the WORST broadcaster in the Twin Cities & that is saying something.
  22. Ive been as hard on Florimon as anyone as I dont think he's a legit major leaguer on a good team, but he's FAR exceeded my expectations. 2 good months dont make you a real player tho. Want to see it continue.
  23. Bremer says that Harrang/Correia both had good outings last time out, so expect a low scoring pitchers duel......with their combined 10+ ERAs. Such a tool
  24. Ortiz has been a tough one to judge IMO. After that killer April in Beloit in 2011, he was on the fast track. 4 Horrendous months followed & he was an afterthought. He was solid in 2012 at both A ball levels but unspectacular. He's been really solid for 2 months but after that 2011 debacle, its hard to not want to see more consistency.
