  1. He's been goin strong for a solid 6 weeks. Needs to keep it up, but is a ray of hope to watch in the 2nd half.
  2. Assuming Kyle Gibson is up till his innings limit (whatever it is). Pelfrey & Correia are both trade candidates. Scot Diamond is walking a fine line with getting demoted. What is the list of next to get shots??(could be a few for sure) Many assume Andrew Albers is next. Already 27yrs old, he has been very consistent but isnt on 40 man roster (not a big deal). I would like to see Liam Hendriks get another shot. The organization isnt very high on him (quote from Tom Kelly), & I dont believe he'll be back next yr in any capacity. He's been very solid in his last 3 ROC starts after his arm injury. Vance Worley has got to be really high on list as MN wants to see a return on the Revere trade, but he's been really inconsistent in AAA and his pure ROC numbers dont scream promotion. Pedro Hernandez will probably get another shot, but I think we've seen what he's got as a starter & bullpen has 3 lefties already. I absolutely believe Nick Blackburn is gonna get another shot this year as MN will get some return on that horrible contract. How soon tho. Trevor May is another, I think, that will get to make his debut but that will be in Sept for his first cup of coffee. Finally, Logan Darnell is on the list IF he can handle AAA. He's even more of a surprise to me than Albers, but is behind him/others in experience. Cole DeVries is not gonna get another shot this year despite bein the Twins best RH starter last year. Got a bad feeling his elbow sprain DL isnt gonna end well (TJ surgery??).
  3. Both deserved it. Not for trading Perk at all. Build your pen around him.
  4. Curt Smith was also released by New Brit
  5. Diamond again bombed after he reached 75 pitches!!
  6. Morneau becomes a 10 & 5 guy IF MN resigns him 4 days into the 2014 season. Do you want to hamstring yourself by giving him this option.
  7. 5-17 w/5runs in 5 games since recall w/double 7K & 2bb Keep it up Last 22gms (may 22nd) 21-77 (.273) 12runs 4doubles triple 3HR (.468slgg) 4rbi 23k 4bb (.309 OBP) .777OPS......solid
  8. He defintately can hold his own hitting righthanded, but Ill be more impressed when he gets his lefthanded batting average over .200
  9. Talking about Vance Worley What are the reports down there on him? Fair. He pitched one real good game. He got the win yesterday (Tuesday). His line wasn't impressive, but he pitched better than the line. He did get the win, which I care about. We just have to get him to figure out how to get the ball down. His stuff is ok. He's a competitive guy. I haven't talked to him since he's gone down there. So its more important to get a meaningless AAA win than to actually pitch well? This is the problem with Ryan as he hasnt adjusted to the new age style of baseball. Who cares if you get a AAA win....it should be about HOW you pitched. Obviously wins are important but a pitcher cannot control getting the win, so Im in the crew that doesnt evaluate a pitcher by wins anymore.
  10. Not a fan of Ryan these days and giving him credit for our minor league progress is short sighted as Bill Smith reign had a lot to do with it also Ryan's value is evaluating minor league talent but I believe MLB duties for a GM have passed him by in this new era. We thought it was the Dome, but Ryan as a GM is cheap at heart and prefers to bargain basement shop than acquire legit talent My belief is that he is the problem in the organization
  11. if he doesnt, he should be fired as they would have 95 losses. If he does get it, it'll be a nice send off to him & his 12 yrs....he shouldnt be back in any situation that doesnt include making the playoffs. Thought he was a 10 yr man, not finishing his 12th
  12. welcome to the realization Mr Souhan
  13. Most thought he was a reach last summer & a year later, he's barely pitched. That pick 'could' be one that is complained about in the years ahead.
  14. Butera's last 10 game stretch SCREAM promotion and Im NOT bein sarcastic, but rather a way the front office can at least sell this to media/fans. 12 or last 35 (.343) w/ .457slgg. If there is EVER gonna be a Butera recall this year, its now!!
  15. Albers will only use that spot IF Diamond is sent down. If Pelrey continues to suck, he would take Mike's spot. Not a Deduno or Walters fan since they joined the organization, but Im coming around on Deduno as a stopgap as he's actually performed. Walters has been horrible for 2 seasons but kept getting chances.
  16. Dozier has actually been really good with the bat since May 28th. Since then... 34gms 31 starts 30-108 (.278BAve)18runs 6doubles 6HR 17rbi (.500slgg) 17k 19bb 2hbp (.395OBP) Dont think he's one of the problems...BUT he needs to keep this up Also hitting lefties really well for a .300/.410/.520 clip in 62PAs
  17. to make room for Mike Pelfrey's start on SAT.
  18. Dozier can be seen as disappointing & not get an arguement BUT he's one of the top rated 2B UZR-wise & is on pace for a 14 HR 14 SB rate. May be the best 2B in the past several years.
  19. 81 games in the books 36-45....still on pace for another 90 loss season. Get some good guesses on year end stat lines..... who's impressed & who's hasnt??
  20. If PJ pitches well Wed, it could still be Gibson despite how absurd that is due to Twins loyalty to its retreads
  21. Play Hicks vs LHP to start w/Clete vs RHP in CF
  22. They are severely lacking in RHH OFs, so Hicks is actually needed as is (esp if Ramirez is done for awhile). I think they will keep him in ROC as they dont have a transaction that they want to make. I have no problem with keeping him down as long as its not to get his 20 days in to get a 7th yr of service time as there is gonna be no way that Hicks is w/MN when that 7th year comes but shouldnt affect his arbitration time.
  23. what was the setback that WRamirez had? Just basic concussion issues??
  24. was looking him up earlier today. He is having a typical Coors Field type production w/ 1.089 OPS, but still productive on road with .864OPS. His big jump has been vs RHP as he's having a career year that way w/.935 OPS as well as 1.052 vs LHP (which he's always crushed)
