  1. Considering the Twins share a partnership with InBev they do pretty well with their craft beer selection. More taps would be nice but they have pretty decent presence overall. If they only had Surly Furious I'd have no complaint at all.
  2. Well, Twins lost but so did the Canadiens so I'm about 50/50 on the downer/happiness meter. Nice to see another solid effort by KG, a couple pokes by big Kennys and Hicks making something happen.
  3. Whew! When I came in to check things out I was afraid people would be overreacting. Very relieved that's not the case.
  4. We learned none of us know anything about skipping generational transfer taxes.....or transferring generational skipping taxes......or generating taxable skip transfers. Or something to that effect. Except Glunn apparently, but then again what doesn't a Beverly Hills Lawyer know?
  5. Pfffft! Like that sounds hard......
  6. Rosario called up, I like that part of the plan.
  7. I seem to recall Baseball America and Prospectus labeling him a solid contact hitter with a good ability to get on base and obviously high power grades, but being down on him for anything defensively.
  8. He absolutely crushed the ball last year with minimal movement, I remember being at that Angels series last September when he mashed that HR 450 feet and only stopped because that's where the stadium ended. He also hit a rope to left centre that series that must have been going 120mph! Not sure why he's gone away from that but the sooner the Twins can get him back into that rhythm the better.
  9. I can't believe Hunter hasn't mentored more wins, I simply can't......
  10. Wonder what Rick Anderson is up to?
  11. My thoughts exactly, what kind of pitcher can we expect Santana to be sans steroids?
  12. I didn't see a lot in May's performance in late Aug-Sept to indicate he can't be the most effective 5th starter on this team. I think he was ahead of where Gibson was at the same point in his first go round, much further in his K rate.
  13. I've been surprised all Spring about the lack of talk on May getting the 5th spot, another outing like that I don't see how they can't. Don't get me wrong, I know they are good at finding reasons not to but I think it's time to give him the ball out of the gate, just like Gibson the year before.
  14. Agree with RB, I don't have a lot of use for Nunez in the big picture but all this talk of his bad defense doesn't meet the eye test, in the infield at least. He shouldn't be near an outfield, but then again neither should Oswaldo Arcia. I'll take Eddie 2's bat before Hermann and wait for some in house talent to fill that spot before long.
  15. Would love to see that kind of performance on a consistent basis from Gibson this year, he teased us with it a few times last year in between clunkers. Here's hoping he takes that next step and is able to show that form more regularly. I think he will.
  16. Seems to have got along just fine without him though.
  17. Really rather bummed by this move, count me in the camp who believes Torii's mystical leadership traits are pure hyperbole, he's a complete egotist. Arguably the worst outfield defense in baseball and this is what Ryan comes up with....for 10.5......yuck.
  18. Ok, let's not get off track here , saying opinions are dumb is not good cricket........especially when you don't spell check.
  19. I agree with One eye, by the time you've reached the majors as a catcher, let alone played 10 seasons as one in the big leagues, you've kinda proved your toughness.
  20. If an injury prevents you from playing at the required level or if playing through it increases the risk of making it worse, you should take a break. The "tough guy, gutting it out " meme is so tired and cliche. The sports world is filled with macho idiots who put themselves at further risk and weaken their teams by trying to maintain an image, one that at the end of the day is a self centered one, not one that is about the team. Brett Favre could possibly be the poster boy for this attitude, the guy was all about himself, lol.
  21. I doubt they're wasting time feeling sorry for themselves.
  22. I don't think Molitor did much last year to earn wearing the good old boy badge. To overly focus on where he came from and not his acumen for the game is just petulant and unfair. Perhaps the best guy got the job.........nah, that's no fun.
  23. Yeah, pretty sure that's the interpretation.
  24. What is his vision? How do you know this? Why is he flailing? Because he passed on Terry and Buck two years ago? Really?
