  1. Yeah, I agree, hasn't been spotting his fastball all that effectively and it seems the hitters are getting more intent on just sitting on the breaking ball, which like you say has been up a few too many times.
  2. Bauer isn't this good fellas.
  3. PLLOOUUFFEE!!!! and the wind!!
  4. Agreed, I think people tend to forget how Buxton's injuries have set him back some. If his recent performance is any sign what he might be capable of on a regular basis, look out.
  5. This isn't too hard to accept really, customs are very different in almost every country and unless you have knowledge of them beforehand it can be quite easy to insult someone by breaking one. Baseball would certainly seem ripe for this kind of misunderstanding, I would imagine trying to learn all the unwritten rules of MLB baseball would be as difficult for a Dominican as trying to figure out all the contradictions of the English language.
  6. Thanks for clarifying, had me a little worried there.
  7. As a non US citizen I can validate this. One of the most fascinating and impossible to understand conversations I have with Americans is their strong belief that owning a firearm is their God given right and a necessary requirement to protect their liberty. My friends and I can only come away shaking our heads each time it comes up.
  8. Your country clearly has a cultural obsession with guns, that's pretty obvious. as Pseudo points out though, every gun crime committed in the US isn't the same. ,Making it much more difficult for the average person to purchase a gun must have some chance of reducing incidents like this, no?
  9. You can't be serious
  10. Exactly, saying May to the pen was a good move just because he was a better option than Pelf isn't really saying anything. Deciding to take May out of the rotation and not adding a second arm to the pen on top of Jepsen were two of the biggest disappointments for me this year.
  11. I agree, I'm just having fun, but you have to admit, it's all much ado about nothing at the moment.
  12. Wait....this game thread intro is about baseball.............I'm confused, what did you do with always33?!
  13. 8 pages on a guy getting told to **** off......talk about conflict resolution skills.
  14. What do kids have to do with this? This is a man's game, or so I've been told.
  15. What harm came to him? A couple of guys yelled at him? You're just attempting to simplify this far too much, you realize humans have emotions right? They can often be complicated and illogical.
  16. Seriously? When does everyone start playing baseball? It's a profession for a chosen few, how many kids play baseball vs adults who do it for a living? Actually it's when I really think about it, that it occurs to me it's just a game, played mostly by kids, for fun.
  17. I didn't say they shouldn't, I said it was ironic. In reality, none of them have ever really been asked to grow up.
  18. How about being upset with each other for laying such an egg at a crucial time, rather than venting your frustration at the team who's purpose it is to beat you? Good teams are motivated by becoming a better team.
  19. I don't agree with retribution but it's just a bit ironic to tell grown men who play a child's game for millions of dollars for a living to grow up.
  20. Nobody is saying that Mike, of course nobody was intrinsically hurt by this. It's all a matter of ego, which everyone has, you can't deny it plays a part in why people react in certain ways to certain things, especially in the world of pro sports. I'm not for any retribution, I think that stuff is silly, but the reaction he got from the Twins wasn't all that unusual. His reaction to the HR was contrived imo, not born out of joy and exuberance, it also seemed out of place considering the score and where his team sits in the standings, kind of like a defensive end doing the happy sack dance with his team down 35 points. There's a difference between being excited and rubbing someone's nose in it, when it's the latter you can usually expect a response whether it logically makes sense or not, it's not about logic at that point.
  21. This pretty much has to happen or the Twins are toast.
  22. Geez, mind if I clap politely when Sano homers? Or will that disturb your meditation day at the ballpark?
