  1. Looks like they had the Depends on fortunately.
  2. To anxious for that first Grand Salami.
  3. That's not the Jeff Manship I remember......****!!
  4. Man, as if preseason wasn't boring enough, scoreless preseason is sleep worthy.
  5. Giving up lead off doubles, loading the bases, etc. Clean your glasses, would ya?
  6. Just Cropper and Dunn oddly enough, the horn section and drummer were all from the SNL band where Belushi and Ackroyd came up with the idea, with Paul Schaffer as the arranger
  7. That's exactly how I remember Jeff Manship.
  8. Looks like that day or two off did Dozier some good.
  9. It's quite remarkable what a different hitter Aaron Hicks is this year, just hits the ball with so much more authority.
  10. Very funny sir, but I have proof, ChiTown actually met my imaginary friends. Now of course she'll deny it.
  11. Hockey's back. Jets-Wild preseason tonight. Go Jets!!!
  12. Not directly Gopher football related but U of M, TCF related. For the second year running my four friends and I were denied beer sales at the Gopher game because they do not accept valid Canadian drivers licenses as proof of age, this despite us all being 46 years old. Multiple concession stands told us the same thing so this is clearly a policy being communicated to them by someone in charge. They also told us the rules are different at Vikings games, bizarre. The first year they sold alcohol at TCF we had no problem, that was when it was only available outside the concourse and down the stairs. Since they began selling it at concession stands it has been an issue. To the concession employees credit they sympathize with how absurd it is but seem fearful to bend the rule. I'm not sure what policy they are trying to uphold, I can find no such mention of it on the U's or TCF's website, only that id should be requested to anyone appearing to be under the age of 30 (I'm under no illusion they are handing me that compliment). What's even odder is that it is far stricter than Minnesota State law, which clearly states Canadian drivers licenses are acceptable forms of i.d. to purchase alcohol. It's pretty embarrassing to be turned away from buying beer at my age. Anyone have any knowledge as to why this exists?
  13. This, I'm mainly just lurking but was wondering when this was going to be pointed out.
  14. Great news, he definitely deserves it, I hope he's gets a chance to make an impact. Too bad it wasn't a touch earlier, I would've liked to have seen him play in person.
  15. You want to learn something? Read Don Winslow's "The Power of The Dog" and the sequel "The Cartel". These are two of the best books written about the impact the War on Drugs has had in the US. Read them, and then post again
  16. There already are replacements on the O-line, that's one of the key problems.
  17. Kill's taking the heat for his team, he's shown to be quite adept at deflecting a lot of criticism directed at his players onto himself. It's actually one of the things I like about him the most, he protects them, he knows they're by and large just kids.
  18. My 2 year curse of never seeing the Twins beat the Angels while in attendance.
  19. The curse is over. 1-6 baby!
  20. I don't think that's so crackpot, me and my buddy were discussing that exact theory at the game yesterday. I think it has some truth, not sure what that says about how Kill views his offense, regardless of his 4 missing o-line starters.
  21. I was there, you nailed it. The lack of creativity was shocking, but so was the O-line play. They started the 2nd half with a great downfield completion to Wolitarsky and it was the last time they went vertical down the field the rest of the game. They didn't even try to stretch the defense in the least. So many baffling things about that game. Arguably one of the worst games of football I have ever witnessed, at least offensively.
  22. This is the key phrase in your post. They simply have to move on from guys like Pelf.
