  1. I usually don't care too much about arbitration in general but I am really rooting for a guy like Betances. I enjoy watching him pitch. He is just down right nasty. I know he will get a big pay day when he hits free agency. I just think the 3 million the Yankees offered was low based on his production and what 3 million can get you in the open market.
  2. I thought I had read somewhere that the Yankess (and also other teams) try to exchange numbers and get deals worked out before the arbitration numbers need to be submitted but once they are submitted all talks end.
  3. I would like to see a college arm step up but it is hard not to like what Greene has to offer. Does anyone have any info on Shane Baz? Could he be in play at 35/37? If they take Greene do they try to get college arms in those spots?
  4. Didn't he start off the season on the DL? I thought he was injured in the first part of the season.
  5. If Tonkin is the odd man out, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. However, if he is the odd man out, I would have liked to see him in a one inning role. He is not really a multiple inning pitcher and IMO was out there in multiple innings too often. That is my only gripe in regards to how Tonkin was handled.
  6. I love that next year we will be able to see who voted (or didn't vote) for who.
  7. Is the Comp A pick protected? I would think it is not, but I am not sure. Does anyone know the answer to that?
  8. I am surprised that I have heard nothing about E Santana. I thought with the poor FA market and the high price of controllable pitching, his name would surface in a rumor or two.
  9. If we were to sign Bautista, we would lose the 2nd round pick, right?
  10. I would assume the Dodgers view Urias as untouchable, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I am sure the Dodgers realize it will take a haul for Dozier so raise the bar high. Then I wouldn't back down from my ideal return of DeLeon, Alverez, plus one of Buehler/Sheffield/Lux/Barnes. Its not that I wouldn't like Bellinger or Puig, I would just rather have pitching. In this case the Dodgers keep their best young pitcher and hitter, but the Twins get a haul in terms of pitching and maybe a wild card.
  11. Does anyone know of a list or link to players eligible to be selected in the rule 5 draft?
  12. Rogers had a really good year out of the pen. He looks like a very viable piece for the future.
  13. They have yet to announce me as a candidate. They must be getting tired of receiving my resume daily.
  14. I honestly have one of these. They are awesome! My brother gave all his groomsmen one for his wedding.
  15. I will second that no vote. Too many guys in the current log jam now. I would rather see the young guys anyway. I don't know how many Twins fans would be lining up to get tickets for a home game if he was sitting on 699. I know I wouldn't be racing to the ticket booth.
  16. Not a bad return on a Terry Ryan dumpster dive.
  17. I feel sorry for my boss. I am not getting anything done today reading all of these threads!
  18. I am glad they tendered Nunez a contract this year!
  19. This is the type of pitcher I would love to see get innings, either this year or next, instead of Nolasco and Milone.
  20. I college I actually found some time to drink beer with friends, actually, lots of beer. When a telemarketer called during these drinking sessions, we usually would say, "I am watching a porno, this better be good." The silence on the phone was golden before the click!
  21. I just hope whoever plays 3B for the Twins wears a cup. Juan Uribe took one "down there" off of Trout and it looked painful. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/16156929/cleveland-indians-3b-juan-uribe-carted-testicular-contusion
  22. Would Funkhouser be an option if he is still available in the 3rd round?
  23. i will be the first to admit this but I don't follow the draft as much as a lot of others on here. I am not blown away by anyone in this draft. I say take your highest rated player available at 15, signablity be damned.
