  1. No to any extension. Given how the Twins seem to be trending on handling pitchers, wouldn’t the money be better spent on more bullpen options?
  2. Whether it is 8 million or 11 million, it is time to move on from Eddie. Despite all the analytical data, the current core does not appear capable to advance in the playoffs. Eddie fails too many eye tests. Too many terrible at bats, base running gaffes and poor fielding decisions to off set his offensive production. Let Eddie and Nelson walk, use the payroll for a starter or late inning bullpen options. The offense may suffer this year because of it, but the roster needs a little turnover.
  3. “Develop more power “?? If Buxton would use his natural talent and develop some base stealing , walk taking and line drive hitting skills, he would become more valuable to the team than the current version. The Twins have enough 20 homer, 230 average guys in the lineup already.
  4. He fits perfectly into the get 5 innings then run out 3 or 4 relievers strategy that we all love. Why would they not bring him back???
  5. If there is a AAA season it might make more sense to have Rooker and Kirilloff playing full time there , rather than be part timers for the Twins. If no AAA, decisions could be different. If Rosario is not brought back , that opens a spot for one of them, not both. And that also is leaving only one of Cave or Wade on the roster. I think a pretty strong argument could be made that Rosario was the 2nd best hitter over the last two years. So I don’t think it is a fair assessment to say the offense would not lose a beat without him.
  6. Rooker did not look to be even an average fielder. Not sure that is what the Twins need as a 4th outfielder. Also not sure you can project after one start that Kirilloff will be the best hitter in the lineup not named Cruz. I hope they both develop into great major leaguers, but to expect it to happen next year might be a bit optimistic.
  7. Rooker as an outfielder, looked like a DH.
  8. Kirilloff starting in left likely means Rosario is let go. Rooker making the 25 man roster likely means Cruz is not re-signed. I am not saying it is a terrible idea, but on paper the offense would look to be taking a step backwards in this scenario.
  9. My guess is the Twins will sign a couple of relievers, likely at the Clippard level of pay and lower, assuming they keep Rogers. Alcala, Stashsk, Wisler may be tried in the later innings in 2021. And this may be off topic but.......could the practice of running a new pitcher out for every inning, stop?? In this day when a starter is pulled after 5 or 6 innings, teams are counting on 3 or 4 pitchers to all be “on” and available that night. Maybe if Duffey comes in and pitches a quick 8 pitch inning , he could be asked to pitch another inning, instead of automatically going to Romo and seeing why he has that night.
  10. $125 budget is too high, teams are going to be in money saving mode. This will upset the players union. A normal full season is unlikely and no season is a decent chance.
  11. The Rays lost game....based on that, Cash made the “wrong” decision
  12. All have reasons to sign or not sign. Just try to pick the right one I guess.
  13. I suspect a lot of teams will be reducing payroll, which would probably lead to an unusual off season. Not sure what to expect. If the Twins let both of these two go, it definitely would impact the lineup. If the front office really feel Rooker and Kiriloff are ready they would look like the replacements . If it led to better at bats from the whole lineup, it could still be a decent offense.
  14. Not sure it is wise to move on from Polanco as the starting SS based on 2020 results. Everyone is very quick to anoint Lewis as the next greatest thing based mostly on where he was drafted. It is very unlikely, but if Royce were to be the 2021 opening day starter and struck out twice and committed an error, I bet the posts would come in saying how he was rushed or is a complete bust
  15. I for one question Jeffers readiness to be the primary catcher. And question even more using Lewis as a utility player.
  16. Garver and Jeffers handle the active roster. Two AAAA guys handle Rochester. Austudillo is released.
  17. A whole bunch of unproven players on this roster. And I don’t understand the need to turn the #1 prospect into a utility player
  18. I am not convinced turning the #1 prospect who barely has 100 ab’s at AA into a utility player would be a great idea
  19. If the Twins can get off the focus of the only hitting homeruns offensive strategy and Max hits 270 with 15-20 homer's, plays a very good right field and a passable center field (Buxton is gonna miss time), then they should keep him
  20. Can’t really see the Twins committing 300+ million to one player
  21. If Rooker and Kiriloff are deemed ready for the major league roster, it is probably time to move on from Cruz.
  22. Not sure a lineup of 4-5 rookies would be the best way to plan next year. With no minors last year, really hard to gauge the level of development.
