  1. Big Pre Game Meal... Judging by looking at his size. He may have had two cookies and now he's stuffed.
  2. Who needs Hammer... We got Kubel
  3. There ya go... Our SS choked... Their SS choked... Tie Game
  4. So Hammer on the DL... What's the word with Oswaldo?
  5. I thought of one... Better yet... "Les Miserables"
  6. I'm not knocking Brian Jones. Ruby Tuesday is a beautiful song and Brian was probably the most talented member of the Stones ever. However... For my tastes... Brian put too much stuff into songs. He was always trying to grab a strange instrument and make noise with it. I'm a Mick Taylor guy... The Stones just became the definition of Rock and Roll when he joined the band and they kinda changed when he left. Let it Bleed... Sticky Fingers... Still blow me away.
  7. If it were a broadway musical it would be... Ummm.... I cant think of any broadway musicals.
  8. Hey now... Let em throw 10 pitches before you start throwing cold water on everybody.
  9. I'm gonna give the restaurant Ruby Tuesdays the nod over the Rolling Stone song Ruby Tuesday. Mainly because Brian Jones spilled his recorder all over song and I don't like recorders in my rock and roll.
  10. Game-time forecast: Mostly cloudy. Winds blowing out to left field at 5-10 m.p.h. Temperature around 65. Royals: SP, Chen Aoki RF Infante 2B Hosmer 1B Butler DH Gordon LF Perez C Moustakas 3B Cain C Escobar SS Twins: SP, Gibson Dozier 2B Mauer 1B Plouffe 3B Colabello RF Kubel LF Pinto DH Suzuki C Hicks CF Florimon -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Things to Think About: 1. Starting Pitching -- It's EARLY!!! It really is... I don't blame anyone for gulping... I'm gulping... but... It's early... It really is. 2. Gulping -- I won't be hypocritical... I was for the Signing of Nolasco... I think he has potential. I was less excited about the signing of Hughes but I also believe he has potential and was OK with it while not overly bursting at the seems in happiness. Pelfrey... surprised me because I thought the Twins would try to hang on to Diamond, Worley and Deduno. OK... Worley is gone and Pelfrey was signed... Pelfrey might work out... I hope he does. What I'm gulping about is the possibility that none of these guys reach the potential that I think they could reach. We got years and money tied up in these guys. If they don't pan out... It could set us back and we still have a ways to go... I look at the Marlins right now and the thought crossed my mind that the young rotation they have is kinda cool. It's OK... IT's EARLY YET. I just gotta relax and let it happen. 3. Kyle Gibson -- Kyle has a decent 2014 start under his belt... We need a win... If Kyle gets lit up that means that all 5 of our guys have been lit up before the calendar hits April 12 and that will haunt me. A win tonight by a starting pitcher... would qualify as a stopper... Gibby could be the stopper!!! C'mon Gibson... Be the Stopper!!! 4. The Royals -- They just hit their first home run of the year when Gordon found the seats. Is this a reflection of: A. Slow start B. Lack of Power C. The first sign of some lava flowing out before the Volcano blows. 5. Ruby Tuesday -- Which is better? The Chain Restaurant or the Rolling Stone song? I'm going to eat at Ruby Tuesday tonight and I'm going to listen to the song driving back from the restaurant. I figure that's the best way to answer that important question.
  11. Sorry about dragging this discussion back out but I just read the responses. I did make the argument that the Arizona Cleveland Cincinatti deal was proof that Didi Gregarious would come with a high price tag. In response... It has been stated that Didi still wouldn't cost us much to acquire. The reasoning was that I had over valued Bauer for a number of reasons listed in subsequent posts and one year of Choo to a team thinking they had a legit WS shot... Therefore Didi was over valued by me... And would be available to acquire by the Twins at a reasonable price. I've thought about it... I am going to assume that I was wrong and that Didi isn't high value because Bauer wasn't high value. I will come over to the opposite side of the argument... Now that I'm here... On this side of the fence... I'd like the Twins to take the trade pieces that could acquire a lesser valued Didi and use them to acquire the lesser valued Bauer!!!
  12. You won't find a bigger supporter of Deduno than I. Wrong or right... I do believe that Deduno would be our top starter if in the rotation. With that said... I'm OK with the current situation... Pitchers get hurt and you need numbers... Placing Deduno in the pen for the time being isn't an issue with me right now... Even if I feel that Deduno is our best starter. He's coming off an injury... You just signed 3 FA's... Letting Deduno dip his foot into the water and observing before diving straight in... Can be somewhat justified. On Bartlett... I admit complete confusion and I can't justify it in my head. I've tried because I trust the many baseball professionals who make these decisions... I try to imagine why with benefit of doubt... But... I can't... I just can't... It's the 25th spot on the roster so it isnt a life or death move but... In the context of this team... After witnessing The 2013 performance of CF... How you leave that spot complete shallow attempting to shoehorn in an extra backup infielder with no experience at the position to play it is beyond my logic. I believe in Hicks... Maybe I believe now... but for sure... Eventually I believe!!! But what if 2014 Hicks ends up like 2013 Hicks... What if Hicks rips a tendon and is shut down for the year. Now what do you do. The CF depth chart is Mastro or rushing Buxton. Or Bartlett? Escobar? That my friends is Thin!!! Razor Thin!!! And we know what Thin feels like because we were CF thin in 2013 and it sucked to be thin. It wasn't addressed or corrected and I can't get my head around it. So... Let me go back to Bonofacio... Actual CF experience... Actual 3B experience... SS experience... 2B experience... Actual... You know... You know... utility experience!!! The Twins pass and instead try to teach Bartlett to become what Bonofacio already is... Leadoff experience... And the Twins don't have a legit leadoff guy... Actual... Honest to god... Speed... Top ten MLB speed while the Twins are amongst the slowest in baseball if not the slowest in baseball. Hasn't been out of baseball and younger!!! The only explanation that I can come up with and I worked real hard for this explanation. Someone liked Bartlett... Someone thought that Bartlett was a... Guy who could change chemistry or something... Someone convinced Bartlett that he would make the club if he signed a minor league deal... Someone kept that promise to Bartlett because he didn't earn the job in ST.... He had to have the job going into ST... Didn't he? Mastro is sent down and Parm is exposed to waivers to make room for Bartlett. Its the 25th spot... I'm not losing sleep but why? I'd like to know why? And.. More importantly... I'd like to know who the inside advocate was?
  13. First off... I have no idea what I'm talking about specifically... I have a pretty good idea generally. Change comes with change. There is a stability in the Twins Organization. Does that stability come from Pohlad or does it come from Ryan? If it comes from Ryan... With his health issues he may hang them up.... If does... The new GM may want to put his own stamp on things. Hence the change that could lead to change. To answer the question... In my opinion... Not until his contract runs out or a significant change in the org chart.
  14. We'll back to work... The Dozier 1st inning was fun
  15. I was hoping you'd quote America next
  16. No No... A Horse by any other name!!!
  17. LOL... As you know... Sometimes you take the dog for a walk and it goes right past the fire hydrant.
  18. I think you forgot to click your Ruby Slippers when you repeat that.
  19. Kipling? Not so much. I'm more a fan of Rudyard.
  20. Pinochio? I wouldnt ask him... I'd run a scientific analysis. Petrie dish... Microscope... Gloves... Gloves for sure. A sample of the beard and analysis of the sample. I think its possible... You'd find Billy Gibbons himself inside that beard.
  21. 30 dingers in 2012... I'll take that in 2014.
  22. Speed like this is a weapon all it's own. No need to look at numbers to closely with Billy Hamilton. He's a potential multi base hit every time he reaches first. Jaw dropping speed!!! It's why I miss Ben Revere terribly.
  23. How much leftover food is in Derek Norris's beard?
  24. Yeah... My prom date in high school had a real aggressive sniffing dog. It happened while I was trying to act like a decent prom date shaking her dad's hand. I pulled my groin trying to get away from the dog.
