  1. We are about to find out with the offense. In the last 3 games Sano has struck out 10 times in 13 PA's. Zero Walks and Zero Hits. He's looking kinda slumpy up there right now.
  2. The Rays have a Robertson to go with Dickerson and Morrison. I feel like I'm watching the Thief River Falls Prowlers.
  3. I waited 5 seconds before I posted like.
  4. (Shrugs Shoulders) It's been awhile. He must be hanging in Ft. Myers.
  5. RBi The i is supposed to be circled and it Means: Riverbrian Not Secure
  6. I think about Pi a lot... And I mean a lot. After all that thinking... Banana Cream is probably my favorite You all knew that joke was coming and you couldn't do anything about it.
  7. Yeah That's where the cameras are.
  8. I had the same feeling... but mine was somewhere on the planet.
  9. I know that I can't... Maybe somebody else... A little help?
  10. Sano is gonna get pitched around. He needs to keep that discipline. He could use a big bomber hitting behind him.
  11. My favorite number is even so I am trying to normalize a little. This is the only time available to post with my schedule. If it isn't posted by 8AM... do a welfare check on my behalf.
  12. Our Twins return home carrying a four-game winning streak. It was a quick, three-win roadtrip to Baltimore and right back home to face the Rays for a weekend series. That is like the ideal trip to the store. You find a parking spot by the door, you walk in and right there is the grill you came for. You head to the counter to pay for it and you walk past a cooler that you also need, so you grab that. The lines are long but just as you arrive a brand new register light comes on, so you avoid the lines. As the cashier rings up the purchases, you notice that licorice you like in the impulse buy rack, so you grab a bag. After the cashier informs you that all these items were 50% off, you pay and off you go with the whole experience taking 5 minutes. BTW… that has never happened in my life so I’m not really sure what happened in Baltimore. Here are some things to think about: Our Twins return home carrying a four-game winning streak. After the cashier informs you that all these items were 50% off, you pay and off you go with the whole experience taking 5 minutes. BTW… that has never happened in my life so I’m not really sure what happened in Baltimore. Here are some things to think about: 1. Grand Marais – In the northeast part of Minnesota, that pointy part, the part that looks like the carrot on the snowman, is the city of Grand Marais. Grand Marais in Ojibwe means, “Stop go back… there is nothing else out there.” According to the brochures… the land surrounding Grand Marais slopes up to form Sawtooth Bluff which is adjacent to Pincushion Mountain. It’s not really a mountain… it’s really a very large pincushion named Mountain. There are actual pins stuck in Pinchushion Mountain so it is functional, you can’t see them… because they are actual size. 2. Our Twins – We have a fairly warm team offensively of recent days. In the last seven, we have nine players with an OBP over .370. The bullpen had a real nice week and we got some good starts out of Santana and Berrios. Add all that up and we are going to the World Series!!! 3. The Rays – Sitting at .500 currently, these guys can play a little. The rotation is productive from 1 to 5 and not one of them has an ERA over 3.82. The bullpen hasn’t been leaking either. On offense they've got a couple of guys playing above normal with Corey Dickerson and Logan Morrison acting like all-stars. If you are Scandinavian... you can hit for the Rays just like sons of Dicker and Morris. 4. Today’s Joe M Conversation Montana: Hey, Joe… that hole you're digging is getting kinda deep there. McCarthy: I’m planting a couple of bushes. I’m gonna call them George and Jeb Maddon: Why not Randy or Matt? McCarthy: Get your own bushes and name them what you want. Maddon: I already have a Randy Bush. Montana: That’s seriously a deep hole. You are gonna come out the other side. Mauer: I read somewhere… if you did that… You’d come out in the Indian Ocean. Montana: The Indian Ocean? That will probably end up flooding the backyard… I’d stop, Joe. Maddon: It’s impossible to dig a hole through the entire earth. The core is hot… around 9,000 degrees. Montana: You’ll need a special suit or something. Mauer: I’ll get the tin foil. 5. Psycho – I’m not normal but nobody ever accused me of being psycho. However, every path I’ve walked down in my life is now called the Psycho Path. ____________________ Lineups: RAYS Tim Beckham SS Corey Dickerson LF Evan Longoria 3B Logan Morrison 1B Steven Souza RF Kevin Kiermaier CF Rickie Weeks DH Derek Norris C Daniel Robertson 2B Chris Archer P TWINS Brian Dozier 2B Joe Mauer 1B Miguel Sano 3B Max Kepler RF Kennys Vargas DH Jorge Polanco SS Eddie Rosario LF Byron Buxton CF Jason Castro C Hector Santiago P Weather: It will be clear and 70s ... play ball! 14. Please refrain from shouting like this when responding to idiots like me or any other idiot who posts something that you disagree with. Sincerly, Riverbrian
  15. If I could sum up how I feel. I think Duffey could be a great reliever and I have no problem with him being a reliever if we didn't need starting pitchers. I think Duffey was great in 2015 as a starter and he lost it in 2016 as a starter. I think the need at Starting Pitcher is going to be critical at some point if this team keeps winning and I see Duffey as the best option right now based on how he is looking at this moment and how he looked in 2015. If the Twins want to leave Duffey in the bullpen because he lacks a third pitch or whatever reason... I'll be OK with that... But I'd like the Twins to also tell me who they will start if Gibson doesn't turn it around or if someone gets hurt or if someone in the current rotation gives up baseball for a new career with the Minnesota DNR.
  16. A. If only pitchers who pitched the entire year are eligible for the award... Yeah... I'll go with Gibson with his 3.84 ERA... 11-11 WL Record... and I'll say that Tommy Milone was a close 2nd with his 3.92 ERA... 9-5 WL Record. . B. If Tommy Milone doesn't qualify either.... Well then yeah for sure... Gibson clearly out pitched Pelfrey and Hughes. C. If you count those 10 starts by Duffey and not hold being asked to pitch in the minors against him. I remember being really impressed with him. 3.10 ERA... 5-1 WL Record. He really threw great when we needed someone to throw great. Facing those September callups. It was Santana and Duffey keeping us in the race by winning nearly every time they stepped on the mound. D. For his career... Gibson has made 105 starts with a 4.80 ERA. I'm not going to call him a failed starter yet because he may get another start and that might be the start that puts it all together for him... but yeah... my finger is on the button. E. I got nothing for E... I just like doing things in fives.
  17. Add Peacock, Phelps and Pomeranz to the list. That's just guys who start with P off the top of my head.
  18. Is anyone calling him a "failed starter"? Yes I'm calling him a successful reliever. OK The two things are not mutually exclusive. OK Leave him where he is, jerking him around won't help anyone. If he pitches decently as a starter. He helps the team... the manager... the front office... the fans and he really helps his career at the same time.
  19. He was our best starter in 2015 He struggled in 2016 I'm not personally ready to define him as a failed starter.
  20. During ST I assumed we had: Santana Santiago Gibson Hughes May Berrios Duffey Mejia I didn't think that was enough Since then Duffey was moved to the pen... May is out for the year... Gibson and Hughes have struggled. We are down to 4 What was the question again?
  21. Last time I was relaxed on the road. A cop came by and suggested that I should relax in the ditch instead. Because it was safer... or something like that.
