    I have no issues with Paul and his decisions today. Yesterday I took issue with the Sano pinch hitting for Vargas but I'm over it.

    It is kinda odd... but he is also really struggling so maybe they are working on something so it doesn't get worse. I'm not that worried about it... I had pulled off my fantasy lineup regardless... went with Brandon Drury instead.

    I'm willing to use Sano if I'm down by a run and need a home run. Anybody would in that situation. I'm ok sitting Sano... he is struggling but if I need a home run and Castro is up with two outs and nobody on. Yeah... I'm telling Sano to get a bat.

    If I was the Manager... I'm not of course... but If I was the manager... I'm the home team... I get last ups... There is nobody on with two out. I have another inning no matter what. I'm not burning my resources in that situation. If the Rays score in the 10th... I will need Sano to go for a home run when Rosario, Buxton and Castro are the scheduled hitters. If the we get a runner on 3rd with less than two outs... I'm liking the chance to turn to Grossman for contact. It was a good time to let Escobar bat.

    The only call I was disappointed with was the reversal at third. It didn't look conclusive to me but they might have had another angle.

    Two outs... We most likely have another inning to play regardless. I was worried that Molitor might burn Sano in that spot. I'm actually glad he didn't. We might need Grossman and Sano to do something important in the 10th.

    The Twins have the third best record in the American League right now. That puts them in first place in the Central and the 2nd place team... the Indians... are tied for the final Wildcard spot. That qualifies the Twins for making the playoffs in all ways... yes I understand that there is plenty of season left for things to fall apart or get better still. Once you are in the playoffs... all of those stats don't mean anything. I watched the Twins win the World Series with Les Straker as the #3 starter in 1987 and run differential of -5 million. And there was the 2003 Marlins... the 2006 Cardinals who probably shouldn't have won a world series but did. Other teams have reached the playoffs with negative run diff. I'm as shocked as anyone that we are in 1st place. I'll be shocked if they are still in 1st place at the all-star break but as long as they are... to pull the plug and say we are not going to win it anyway is hubris and it will end up a self fulfilling prophecy. It's like saying we won't be home in 5 minutes because I'm not going to put gas in the car. And it makes you no better than the owners in the movies "The Natural" and "Major League".
