  1. lol... Love it... I think it won't be long and the Twins will issue a policy that catchers at all levels are not allowed to travel together in case the plane goes down. No night clubbing together in case of fire or gunplay. No sitting in the dug out side by side in case a foul ball clips both of them.
  2. Yeah... It could be any of the three. Butera would not surprise me. I'm just hoping for Towles. Maybe TR or Gardy will want to see what he can do because they have seen what Butera can do. Whoever it is will have little effect on the team because they won't play. Maybe a game every two weeks when Gardy thinks to himslef. Yeah, let's get you in a game.
  3. I'm sure the situation will be fluid for a short period of time but it won't be that long. In my opinion.
  4. Plouffe is out of options and can play SS in a pinch which Parmelee can't. Parmelee can't be wasted in a platoon situation. AAA makes sense. Not saying I agree with it all... Just saying the writing is on the wall. I didn't mean for that to rhyme... It just happens from time to time...

From the Pioneer Press April 14 Morneau, 30, has been candid about his desire to return to the field since he started regularly DHing midway through spring training. "It's not something I exactly want to do," he said, "but if I don't at least accept it for a little while, I'll be going into it with a negative mind-set, and I have to go in trying to figure out what works for me. It's not easy." Morneau went 1 for 4 with a walk on Saturday and is batting .233 with a homer and two runs batted in. "Everyone says, 'Well, all you have to do is hit; you don't have to play,' " Morneau said. "It seems simple enough, but trying to stay loose, and trying to stay into the game and not feel like you're pinch hitting four times, feeling like you're part of the game and part of the team and not just going up there to hit, it's hard to do. "I have to try to figure out what works, but hopefully it won't be too long before I get back out there at first."
  6. If the team is injury free. Yeah... This will happen. you can't stop it. Parmelee will be sent down. Doumit will get more DH time. Parmelee will move into a RF rotation with Thomas and Plouffe. Parmelee needs to play like Revere needs to play and with Doumit DH and the fear. Towles is on his way. Also don't forget that they have 3 catchers in Rochester right now. Barring injury... This is a sure thing.
  7. Morneau was always available to play in the field. They were easing him in... But he could always play in the field. Morneau publicly was starting to blame his slow start on not being able to stay sharp because of this DH role. Morneau was going to play 1B. It was just a matter of time. As for "the fear". It isn't a new thing. Gardy has talked about "the fear" since 1914. Just this year... He said he would not take Doumit out the game for late inning defensive replacement because of "the fear".
  8. Good to see the Big Canadien in the field eh?
  9. Those jerseys are hilarious. Who came up with that? Serious Genius at work. Bring the beer... That'll be cool. Cuz when the trouble starts I'll be drinking it. Doing my usual armchair QB'ing "I can't believe the General went for the flank when he had that kind of air cover". I was actually thinking that if it got to be real heavy trouble that I'd move to Kelowna or Vernon because no one would ever bomb Canada. If they did... it wouldn't be BC unless they wanted to take out Theory of a Deadman once and for all.
  10. He will. The scouting department is in the process of calling every single person in every American City in an attempt to solve the pitching crisis with warm bodies. They are calling Oklahomans at this moment so its only a matter of time. Using this telemarketing method... They have signed a lefthander from Duncan Oklahoma named Ron Howard and another lefty from Tulsa named J.J. Cale and another one From St. Marys Catholic Church in Altus named Sister Agnes.
  11. Unfortunately once you arrive in Conneticut you can't be sent back down. So you have to game up. I recommend using the autocorrect. Don't bother correcting the autocorrect. Just type and let the autocorrect plug the words it thinks your typing and hit send.
  12. That wasnt my thinking. Eventually Morneau was going to return to 1B. It was the catching thing in my mind. Doumit needed a position for his bat. He needed DH for his defense. Gardy would not let DH happen because of "the fear"... Can we just call it "the fear". Until tonight that is. He did it... We won... I feel much better now.
  13. Some Gardy criticizism stems from people that just don't like him and they will have a problem with most anything he does. Others are frozen in fear over the return of Drew Butera as the 3rd catcher.(jaws theme music here). Others like me can't sleep at night thinking of Doumit and Willingham plodding over two thirds of the outfield knowing that Doumit can't DH as long as Gardy feels this way. Whats the the good option. In my opinion. Anyone in RF that can cover a little ground so only one OF gap is gaping. Someone that can run faster then 3 college students pushing a car with no gas down the street. Lots of things at play from different angles.
  14. 9 more posts and you go straight from Beloit to New Britain. 109 more posts and you no longer recognize family members and can only grunt at them when they ask for a ride to confirmation.
  15. This exact discussion has centered on Doumit playing RF instead of DH and Gardy's much publicized fear of catchers in the DH position which forced Doumit into the OF. Doumit and Willingham both in the outfield is similar speed to Shelly Winters and Ernest Borgnine and some of us think that kind of speed in the OF could be a Poseidon Adventure.
  16. lol... That's why I love stats. The framing of them makes all the difference. 4 out of 5 dentists recommend trident gum for people who chew gum. What was the sample size? Did they stop at 5 dentists and say that works for me? Were the dentists surveyed, fully aware of every other gum option before being forced to make a recommendation? Were they literally forced to make a recommendation? Does the line "for people who chew gum" mean your teeth are going to fall out but Trident is a much softer gum to actually have to gum? Is it possible that 2 of those 5 dentists think the other 3 dentists are idiots. Disclaimer... I agree with one eyed jacks implication. Power by itself will not win.
  17. it usually takes luck timed at the right moments but I contend that you can't live by power alone. Sometimes good pitching especially a sinkerballer who's dealing can shut down the long ball. If you have a speed power combo. Those speed guys can create something out of nothing. Speed and power gives you more ways to win and you can never discount the value of speed on defense because those batters insist on hitting the ball everywhere forcing movement by the defense.
  18. Seriously... Loved it. Guys getting dirty... Making plays... Key hits... Anything is possible. That was a well played game. Now they gotta do it again tomorrow.
  19. Game over. 3 and 7 baby.
  20. Tempting the wrath of the whatever from high a top the thing.
  21. lol... That's perfect... Maybe Gardy can submit his lineup with no cleanup hitter. It will be Mauer followed by 5A and 5B. Kind of like no 13th floor at the hotel.
  22. Willingham not looking good in the 4 hole. Morneau looking great in the 5 hole. Maybe it's the hole itself.
  23. lol. By posting that.. You just tempted the wrath of the whatever from high a top the thing.
  24. Alright... Neinstein and Twinsnorth... Quit typing the same thing at the same time. It produced this phasing effect that was unsettling.
  25. So close... Nice effort by span. Good hard baseball. Nice positioning by Willingham. The bench coach did a nice job with those arm signals from the dugout... And Casilla... Yes... This is baseball.
