    Earlier this year I thought Joe choked in the same situation and I didn't think the pitches were anything special and I said so and I said Joe makes too much money for that to happen. This case I gotta give the credit to Franklin Morales. Those were tough pitches. Sometimes the pitcher wins.

    Yeah pretty much. Think about it from a defense standpoint. You have to spin your body to make the throw to first. Lefties Don't play 2b or SS either. Baseball is a game of inches in the infield. That spin to get into throwing position is the difference between safe and out. 1b and OF are all managers will let them play because they are freaks.

    People don't watch baseball for the entertainment value. They watch the Hunger Games, Adult movies and Diners, Dives and Drive Ins for entertainment.

    If you add up all the revenue sources. The Twins will fall smack dab in the middle. Don't argue this... Just trust me... This one time. Everything else I type on this site you can question and should question. On this issue we are smack dab mid pack. There are about 10 mid pack like teams in the same boat as the Twins. Most importantly... Think of it this way. Relying On ticket sales and hot dogs and corporate box packages and merchandising is about as fickle an income source as you can find. The stadium is wonderful... It brought us out of Kansas City Land. It does what it's designed to do... Produce revenue. The stadium brought us from near the bottom to mid pack. In the end.. The players still have to execute and make plays in the field.

    LOL... I was gonna type if Jamie Moyer can do it. However, I think Joe Mays is much younger still. Might by younger then Jamey Carroll.

    You are right... The only thing I can say is that his location problems MAY stem from thinking too much. Worry to much... You try to locate. Try to locate without having the skill set to locate and you got walks. I think he should go an inning out pf the pen. Let it buck and see what happens. It might fail miserably but it also might work. We know for sure that this finesse thing isn't working. Even Verlander has to mix it up as a starter. Out of the pen he could just challenge. It might work.

    The pen is a different mindset and it might suit him. When you start... You have to mix it up. That hitter you are facing in the 1st is coming up again to face you. You can't just bring it... It's a mind game and he just might not be grasping the mind game part. If you put him in the pen for a LOOGY role or set up guy. He won't have to think. He can just bring it and challenge hitters. 2 seam, slider, 4 seam, change, slider. Put a k in the book. It might work. It just might. I've also heard he doesn't handle pressure well. But as long as he doesn't think. As long as he just throws. Brings it. Who knows.

    I'm pulling for Ben to be called up. However I think the point of this thread should be to congratulate Josh and his wife. A child is bigger than anything he will ever do on the diamond. If it's a Boy... The obvious name should be Will. Or Xifan.

    Agreed... TK is pure baseball. I bet he craps baseballs... Probably doesn't even need TP.

    It would be real cool if it worked that way. I'm calling up that Arenado kid from the Rockies Org. BTW. I've been outspoken on my opinion of Velencia. Put the homer aside. He got a cookie on that one. It doesn't matter. Regardless of the home run. He had a nice game moving his feet in the field. Man does he have to lay off the low and away pitch. He won't see anything else for awhile... Until he can.

    I hope TR is fishin with you. Gotta take a look around. Webb won't work though cuz his arm don't work anymore. I heard velocity in the 70's actually. He made a living with his sinker. Take that sinker and that velocity and it's beer league softball.

    TK is the best. He predicts pitch sequences, player positioning, what the hitter is looking for. He still has the game in his pocket. All color guys should color like TK does. I like Bert... Bert is one of us but TK is much better and that isn't a knock on Bert.

    I can't stand Youklis batting stance. I coach a little baseball. One of my kids tried that thing with his hands. I took the bat out of his hands and beat the kid with it.

    Yeah... I can live with that. For 23 million he has to come through no matter where the ball is located.

    I agree but that was a tough sequence of pitches for Mauer. Willingham hit that ball on the screws. Just to the wrong spot.
