  1. Thats because you are. Don't worry you can't drown in an oasis though. You can however drown in a pool on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean. That isn't a metaphor or anything... I just think its odd that you can drown in a pool on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean. Yo RB. Not to budge in and poop in your soup' date=' but I think you can drown in an Oasis... you can't drown in a Mirage. The rest of what you said was hilarious![/quote'] Oasis is a Pop/Rock band from England? Ahh... I see... My mistake.. The Homonym has got me again. Last winter this female co-worker came into my office and asked if she could use my office for some privacy. There were tears in her eyes. So I said... "absolutely... what's wrong? Anything I can do?". She said... "I can't stop gaining weight... I don't even want to go out in public anymore. I can't look in the mirror. I just sat in my chair and it broke. Everyone saw it happen... I'm so embarrassed". I didn't know what to say... I thought about who was going to pay for the chair but I smartly held my tongue and thought about what to say. It was an uncomfortable period of silence. She started to cry a little harder and choked up she says... "I should stop blubbering like this". That homonym got me... I replied... "we all blubber when our metabolism slows down".

  3. Clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap
  4. No doubt it can blow up in your face. Happens a lot... However sometimes you Trade Teixeira to the Braves and get Andrus, Feliz, Harrison and Salty in return. Everything is a crap shoot in this game but gotta keep rolling the dice.
  5. No walks... 6IP... I wish I could see it.
  6. This team got f'd up. The Red Sox are proof that Money doesn't always buy you love. Theo left them in good shape... Lots of young prospects that can be used to restock the team and they will spend money and they got new money now. I imagine that any team bidding for a top free agent will have to contend with the Sox. A team like the Sox with money to spend could end up bringing up the potential money being paid out to the FA's overall.
  7. My wife has the TV... She's watching Americas got Talent. I got the game cast on my IPad... It's killing me...
  8. Are my eyes blurry. No walks? 4 Innings.
  9. Terry Ryan shouldn't grant interviews? Terry Ryan is the GM of a MLB team. Part of his job is PR, which involves responding to the press, which is one way you generate interest in your product, which is part of how you sell tickets. Ignoring your customers is rarely a good business strategy. I know... Just hoping some can see why they get a bunch of worthless **** as quotes. Kevin Smith is the PR director I believe and he has to make sure that people don't say anything stupid. Rookies are trained and the vets like Ryan and Gardy are experienced at the process. They are not going to slip up. We are not going to know what is happening with Morneau and Span and the future because if he says whats on his mind. He's got a bunch people in his office the next morning. Terry Ryan, Gardy, Coaches, the players make themselves available for interviews. They need to be somewhat accessable... They know what they can say and what they can't say and they can't tell you what they are completely thinking because they will get ripped apart. Fans upset is one thing but you can't make waves in your own walls. Terry Ryan provided the safe answers that are as predictable as possible and he still got ripped apart. Saying PR is part of his job is correct. It is... Just like cleaning up puke in the bathroom is part of the job of a bartender. Its too late now... Just want to point out that we get **** for quotes that you cant trust because we can't handle the truth.
  10. Well said... You are on my smart poster list. I agree with your last comment on the elite pitching contracts... However in the context of the current Twins... I think they have no choice but to go after one of them. Haren or Shields. The Twins have to take a big run... Overpay for one of them. And then pray for health and success. I'd overpay for one and build a church at the same time. I think they sign two FA SPs, two second tier guys. I also think they deny option/sign Baker. A total of ~20M on the three, perhaps Baker for 3M, the better FA at 10M, and the other FA at 7M/next year. My starting 5 look like this: 1) FA 2) FA 3) Diamond 4) Hendriks 5) Deduno/DeVries/Walters/Manship With Baker and Gibson arriving after demonstrating consistent success at AAA -- it may not happen for either.... gulp. I'd be happy with: 1. Haren or Shields 2. Diamond 3. Traded for young pitcher with upside (this one will be harder and it doesn't matter who). 4. Hendriks/Deduno/Walters 5. Rule 5 pickup 6. At least two Decent Improved options in AAA or AA. Hopefully another young arm dealt for and Minor League Free Agent. On the interview itself... Fire Dan Gladden, Birdwatcher, Ultima are correct. It would be absolutely stupid of Terry Ryan to sit down with a reporter and say... We are going to replace Gardenhire at the end of the year... Morneau is gone... I'm telling you now so get ready for it. This organization is trouble and I blame everybody else but me. If you are ever interviewed and you provide answers like that... You will be paying for it in ways you would have never imagined. You will paying for it dealing with the aftermath and that will involve people that actually matter. It's also arguable that granting an interview to the press at all is a fairly stupid move because anything said... Truthful, Bent, Safe or Dangerous will be torn apart like it's Bambi captured by a pack of Hyena's and Buzzards. Look no furthur than this thread for proof of that.
  11. More power to you... Nick Nelson. The Record may be a hair worse this year but it feels better. There are times when they look like a baseball team. We need... Pitching... Pitching... Pitching... For the Future.

  13. How many crimes are ever prosecuted RB? Gardy's already got Span's current bench seat reservation fitted for Parmelee's "battling tail" as soon as Span is ready to go. Doesnt have to be that way... R o t a t I o n. G a r d y. R o t a t I o n.
  14. I agree with everything you say except the last paragraph. Long periods of mediocrity comes from thinking your a move or so away. The Twins have to get serious about the pitching. If blowing up the offense is the cost. It must be paid. Not fixing the pitching will lead to a long period of mediocrity. Trying to right the ship with vets like Carroll or Stephen Drew will lead to the long dark period. With that said... I'd like to see Joe stay a Twin for life. Move other offensive players. On your A and B... I agree... Something is up. Twins Daily readers and leaders... Do your digging.... I'll be checking back for info.
  15. They better play him... His time on the bench during his last cup of coffee was a crime.
  16. I'll post National Leauge Teams and Bark can do the American League. Is Rizzo destined for stardom? Will he have any support in the future? Will Theo Epstein turn this team around? It looks god awful right now but they made asome moves this year with you'd assume more to come. Brett Jackson and Josh Vitters haven't exactly exploded on to the scene. Vizcaino was picked up from Atlanta... After that the Cubs are pretty pitching poor on the farm. What has Epstein gotten himself into? How long will the North siders have to wait?
  17. Oh yeah... I'd take them as well... Left them off because I was worried about Carpal Tunnel from typing the lengthy list of Upside pitching in the Arizona farm system.
  18. I see you've dropped the "sticking to everything" portion. I really shouldn't have because it does stick to everything. It's what makes the quote so perfect. I'm glad you let me take it. If I could figure out how to make it a tag line underneath all my posts... I would... Like your man is born free thing.
  19. Losing becomes a part of you. Game 129 of a losing season. Nothing to play for... Nothing to be inspired by. "a giant marshmallow of Blaise". Is what I like to say. Just try being sharp at your job spending another day at the office with the guy next to you paying Tetris on his computer while you've lost your 5th account in two months to the competition. Sure you tried harder the first month. It didn't work... Now you are trying to beat the guy next to you because he has the Tetris record. If you care about winning... You have to oh well the loses away or you will go postal. Think about loss after loss... You have to put it someplace. That's the stuff the shows up as a "giant marshmallow of Blaise" Yeah... Facing good pitching doesn't help the situation.
  20. That'll be tough to do... I'll have to use quotations when typing it and if say it verbally... I'll have to do that quote thing with my fingers.
  21. That sentence needs to quoted... The best description of 95 percent of losing baseball teams. Can I use it and pretend its mine.
  22. Justin Upton is the kind of player everyone wants and at his age is the kind of player that no one would ever give up. There has to be a personality clash going on. It's the only think that makes sense. The team doesn't need to rebuild... They are close. I would love to have Bauer, Miley, Skaggs, Corbin in the Twins Org. I'd be happy with just one.
  23. I was kinda hoping for the state of the organization but the state of the state of Georgia is an interesting twist. Ive been to Atlanta Twice. My sister lives there and she loves it. Can't get her to move back home. The first visit... A giant cockroach or some really large bug... Almost the size of a bird... fell from the ceiling right into my sisters hair and she had no idea what happened so she ran around in circles punching her own head. My wife filmed it... But didn't catch the cockroach part. We play the video every x-mas... My sister running around punching herself in the head. It's really funny out of context. The other thing I know is that they have big ass trees and people call you sugar.
  24. Leaving room for doubt is what makes you the voice of reason on Twins Daily. That's the least glass-half-full sentiment that you've ever expressed, RB! LOL... It was hard to type... But the pitching situation is overwhelming. Storm says Diamond and Hendriks are in for next year... I say Diamond is in for next year. Scott Diamond is your #1 right now. That makes it hard to sleep at night. Now for the optimism. Teams can compete regardless of what it says on paper. Hell... Kent State University could move into the American League and win 40 games. Baseball works that way. If you are good enough to be a major league player... You are good... You have the skill to win. Something just has to happen to pull it all together from a team standpoint. Now for the negative on the other hand. Damn hard to do without pitching.
  25. This gives the ground crew enough time to come up with a real cool outfield grass cut design.
