  1. At least his kilt dinna fly up. Or his toga, for that matter.
  2. Yup, TD's very own Hunter S Thompson...
  3. He made it look more error-ish by getting there in plenty of time but then having some sort of Outlander historical time travel moment where he was suddenly dodging falling lava at Pompeii
  4. Glad to see Sanchez is ok. At my sturdiest and even with any elbow pad short of something worn in a jousting tournament, 95 MPH to the elbow and I would've been doing my 'shaking it off' laying on the ground curled up in a ball of tears.
  5. The Twins being out of contention is their gift to you to help make their wacky high jinks like that dropped popup less likely to make you want to slam a car door shut with your head in it.
  6. Actually it's totally over; I just like that gif.
  7. Twins end their inning by grounding into a double play. Must be another day ending in 'y'. Trying to think of another team setting where people display the timing, precision, and consistency that the Twins do by being half a step slow in beating out the DP. Wait, I have it.
  8. In the batter's box León looks like a centaur with a normal dude upper half and a Kirby Puckett lower half.
  9. Wallner did his best Cuddyer impression there by tracking down a liner in the gap that you don't expect a middle line backer with a glove on his hand to go and get.
  10. No worries, I was sure you meant it in a good way. I meant to put in a wink emoji for that reply but got distracted by looking at some of the weird variations of the Fry meme.? And thanks again for the welcome back!
  11. Yeah, I get the no shows for a last place team on a school night. But the PA dude saying it's 14K paid with some of those lower deck sections seemingly empty from the 6th inning on... there's generous, and then there's 'Bugatti as confirmation gift' generous. On the other hand, I remember section-hopping at the Dome for some late 90's Twins games that were like if a new stadium had a soft opening to work the bugs out before real MLB games took place.
  12. Thanks, fellow Bombo! It's the healthy kind of guilt that we Minnesotans enjoy. It's like... high fiber for the soul. ? Didn't track this one down til now, but I'll throw it in anyway...
  13. Based on the size of the crowd in some shots, I would've guessed that the Royals were playing an exhibition game tonight for someone's private birthday party. I missed the seventh inning stretch; were there pony rides?
  14. I feel like this game is putting us on the verge of a breakthrough corollary to Murphy's Law which will state that the chance of an absurd amount of instant replay delays increases in proportion to the insignificance of the game.
  15. Hmmm...Not sure if compliment or invitation to be overwhelmed with crushing sense of guilt...?
  16. Umpire: <'Throw looked like it was just in time, I'll call him...'> Wallner: 'You don't need to call me out' Umpire: <'I don't need to call him out'>
  17. Fortunately for Gilbert and other Twins 3b coaches, they have the advantage of being judged against the highly imaginative decisions of Gardy fave Scott Ullger... the only 3b coach in MLB history to base his decisions on in-game readings of tarot cards...
  18. That's how much interest I've lost in the Twins. I didn't even realize until I read your post that MLB is making up the missing games from the 2020 season by tacking on 102 more to the end of this one.
  19. And he really didn't even do all that much while he was here to make his moving on seem like a big loss. But going to the Yankees and being every bit as much of a dink as you'd expect a Yankee to be has really made it feel like addition by subtraction. (Sort of) well done, Josh D.
  20. As a consolation prize, it's a little break from the mental fatigue of watching him play at an All Star/HoF level and telling ourselves not to think about how great he and the Twins could be if he could stay healthy.
  21. Rocco's dirty uniform fines really cutting into that Twins stolen base success rate of 40%.
  22. There's a joke about Ash somewhere in this, but I'm too busy finishing the facepainting for the Wild game.
  23. One way to overcome concerns about descending into the roll of 'lefty specialist' is to get righties out. Given that they're hitting .391/.417/565, Thielbar may be opting for the less desirable way, failing to get lefties out.
  24. It's a nice tribute and all, but a pink and baby blue catcher looks like an MC at a gender reveal party that's expected to turn ugly.
