  1. And if not we have a scapegoat, Mr. Jinxypants.
  2. We independently chose the word 'disaster' to describe the game... ...always the mark of a quality product.
  3. Grossman makes up for the double error by popping out to help end the game and force dazed Twins fans out of the stadium to seek their own answers to this disaster somewhere out in the Minnesota night.
  4. You mean the recycled Gatorade, or people who are fit enough to run marathons?
  5. It's just a tuneup for Fan Appreciation weekend! http://media.salon.com/2014/03/washington-mudslide.jpeg59-620x412.jpg
  6. As the Game Thread approaches the brutal 8th inning wall of another blowout, Brian and Chief arrive just in time to pass out 'Likes' to weary posters... http://www.runnerspace.com/members/photos/5006/Gatorade-Bogota12_full.jpg Going against advice, mindcrime gulps his 'likes' and quickly pays the price.
  7. Excellent baseball knowledge, but that was different because nobody liked Tommy John.
  8. Logan Schafer, the poor man's Eric Komatsu....
  9. Ok, 10's a nice, round number, so let's maybe go ahead and wrap it up, Twins.
  10. Well, Grossman's wacky outfield folly was the 2016 shark jump moment for me. http://beyondthemarquee.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/homer_jump_the_shark1.gif And even before Grossie's double downward dog error, the bullpen was on pace for a 300 pitch night to record the last 9 outs.
  11. Alternative spelling for your consideration.
  12. Dick reminding us that thanks to roster expansion, the Twins have an 11 man bullpen, and I'm like 'yyyeah, that should eventually get us through the 7th and maybe part of the 8th, but what about the rest?'
  13. Sensing autumn in the air, the Corgi savors one of the last Twins pitching performances of the season... http://doz.h-cdn.co/assets/16/35/1472869094-3poyupa.gif
  14. Never trust a dude with two last names....
  15. Not a good night for either of them, but Gibster is looking pretty hittable too. He's about to throw pitch #100 and it's just the 5th inning, although it's admittedly pretty amazing to rack up that pitch count without giving up more than 2 runs.

  17. Game ain't over yet. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Qlqp2FrZSC8/UDD9l-pKa2I/AAAAAAAAXHk/zvFQ1lOCZyY/s1600/1jack.jpg
  18. Buxton basically the only reason to watch the team tonight, and he didn't disappoint.

  20. Twins have been stuck on 98 wins for an eternity, almost 24 hours now. What an incredible season. Hard to believe there's barely a week le... Wait, whaaaat? 98 losses? This team? http://invisiblebread.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/brucewillisdoubletake.gif
  21. Fortunately they had the decency to tear the Metrodome down before the Twins managed to surrender a season sweep to a division opponent there. Last time was 1979, in the middle of another terrible stretch of seasons for the organization, but back then they at least had the fig leaf of one of the lowest payrolls in baseball. And as a bonus the Twins have single-handedly put the Tigers in the thick of the wildcard race.
  22. The simple joys of sharing baseball with family. Came out to the folks' to have dinner and watch the game. During the 7th inning stretch my dad mentioned there were leftovers in the fridge if I got hungry. Went and ate a quick snack and came back. Dad: "Find something to eat?" Me: "Leftover porkchop." Dad: "Huh." Me: "What do you mean, 'huh' ?" Dad: "Had porkchops last night. No leftovers, though." Me: "Small piece, in the butter compartment, wrapped in saran wrap" Dad, after thinking for a few seconds: "Oh, that. Use that to give the dog her medicine." Me, after waiting for a few seconds for him to say something else : "Dad, how old was the porkchop?" Dad, pretending not to hear: "How many games is Dozier's hit streak now?"

  24. Hey, less than two hours until game time! Twins baseball, your "Please, sir, may I have another" leader...
  25. 30%, or about half the probability of the Twins getting blown out if it's played. Conversely, the chance of rain is 90% if Dozier homers or the Twins take a lead before it goes into the books. Edit: I see the Twins have pre-jinxed tonight's contest by declaring it "Dozier Goes Deep" night, apparently because 'Brian Dozier Voodoo Doll' night, while functionally equivalent in terms of preventing a home run, would have been a PR nightmare.
