The simple joys of sharing baseball with family. Came out to the folks' to have dinner and watch the game. During the 7th inning stretch my dad mentioned there were leftovers in the fridge if I got hungry. Went and ate a quick snack and came back. Dad: "Find something to eat?" Me: "Leftover porkchop." Dad: "Huh." Me: "What do you mean, 'huh' ?" Dad: "Had porkchops last night. No leftovers, though." Me: "Small piece, in the butter compartment, wrapped in saran wrap" Dad, after thinking for a few seconds: "Oh, that. Use that to give the dog her medicine." Me, after waiting for a few seconds for him to say something else : "Dad, how old was the porkchop?" Dad, pretending not to hear: "How many games is Dozier's hit streak now?"
