  1. Sano sliding into second with all the grace of Apple cofounder Steve Wozniak attempting the samba on 'Dancing with the Stars'. But hey, a rally is a rally. Ooh, ouch. Bremer adds the ultimate Twinsult to Chisenhall's wall collision injury on the Vargas double by calling his play "Butch Huskey - like". That's gonna leave a mark.
  2. Yep. It certainly wasn't Santiago's day, and then it kind of became 'not our day' for the rest of the boys.
  3. Today's game has just the fainted whiff of 'We already won this road series' to it. And I don't mean the lineup or the effort. When Kepler was thrown out at home on that very close play, his reaction was not 'SAFE!SAFE!SAFE!', it was 'Hey, man, we're in first place and we already have this road series won; if I'm out, that's cool'. I'm not even down on them, I just think they're so happy about being in first and were out of this game so early that it's been sort of a '... Hey... pink bats.... groovy, man.' kind of game for them.
  4. Thanks, but it's for the best, I think; I don't know if I could have coped with the guilt.
  5. And I love that someone found an image of an autographed Ron Davis picture. How did that conversation go? "Can you autograph this please, Mr. Davis? I used to love watching you crush imminent Twins victories like a deranged elephant stomping on cute puppies!"
  6. The beauty of Twins Daily game forums, perfectly summed up in one sentence. Where else can you find this kind of appreciation for the finely nuanced differences in giving people crap?
  7. My friends way back when used to give me grief when they noted a similar pattern of success, and the lack of it, when I asked for girls' phone numbers. The solution was simple, really. New friends.
  8. Makes sense, some chain restaurants have the kind of atmosphere where employees are really encouraged to express themselves... http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/b/6/f/0/event_209386832.jpeg
  9. Even the CEO of Applebees probably still scratches his head from time to time when he sees those push pins in the map of their locations on his office wall.
  10. It may be, but do you really want to make that assumption based on it being done by the only MLB team ever to deliberately lose a World Series for money?
  11. Weighing the pros and cons of asking where you work...
  12. Just what the Twins bullpen needed, a 'Challenge accepted' finish to make things messy. I smell trouble... http://loveletters2strangers.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Challenge-Accepted_small.jpg
  13. AAA recap headline tomorrow: "Angry birds' future Ham Fighter can't stop Iron Pigs despite help from pen."
  14. "I think... maybe both". http://cdn.hark.com/images/001/020/492/1020492/original.jpg

  16. That sounds significantly less disturbing than you having eaten a giraffe's head off of a cracker, so... glass half full!
  17. Seven more runs and they should have a pretty safe ninth inning lead...
  18. Probably pretty slim, but if he does, I'm hoping it's Frazier instead of Escobar.
  19. And Lord knows I would never have had any idea whose side the Hessians were on in the American Revolution for my 7th grade history test, if not for the distant memory of them getting played by Bugs.
  20. Glad I'm not the only one who was secretly conflicted by Bugs being the good guy, yet clearly enjoying every opportunity to inflict pain on his nemesis du jour. Whether by design or unresolved issues of the creative staff's own childhood, all Warner Bros. characters had speech impediments, mental health concerns, or both.
  21. And thanks to cartoons, we all know that if you find a bird named George, you pet him and hug him and squeeze him... http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/originals/d8/34/42/d834425133993bef9f66d71982b9ca64.jpg
  22. Never understood the big deal people made about school lunches. Lots of adults eat from trays in cafeterias too. There was no caption for the picture below, but I'm pretty sure it shows a surgical team enjoying a bite to eat in a hospital cafeteria, perhaps after successfully removing a spleen or the like. http://nationswell.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/prison-food.jpg
  23. Yup. You can only hope to contain him...
