I've seen more than a few games where a team will make a furious comeback and then the other team gets mad, scores a run, and the team that had done such a great job to come back is out of gas and loses the game anyways. I have seen that more than a few times in all of my days watching baseball. Glad to see KC take one of those games from Cleveland! The series with Detroit turned out to be a decent series when it was all said and done. The Twins played their best game of the series today against Detroit's best pitcher too!

Compared to some of the teams in the 2000s, no this is not fun. It's a root canal. Compared to last year or 2016? Okay I get what you mean. But those years were not pennant chase years either. I am referring more to the playoff push. Usually playoff pushes are exhilirating, this is embarrassing.

I actually kind of feel for Baldelli a bit as well. If he's a competitive guy, and I'm sure he is as he has been in baseball most of his life, he has to be FURIOUS right now. He certainly controls himself quite admirably.

I do honestly feel bad for the fans that have been going to the games at Target Field. Watching the game on my TV from Bismarck and being disappointed is a little bit different from a fan spending good money at the ballpark and not seeing decent baseball for a very long stretch.

I'm not going to criticize Baldelli's managing style but I will just go so far as to say that I do not understand it. That's all.

Does anyone else kind of have the feeling this year that the fun that we are supposed to be having in a pennant race is just not there? I don't know. It just isn't as fun as it supposed to be this year. I guess it has a lot to do with poor defense and bad baseball. I'm the kind of fan that likes to see my team play a nice crisp game. Doesn't it seem like we have had very few crisp, solid games this year? I know I enjoyed the teams in the 2000s a whole lot more even with far less homers.

Or maybe Acuna wanted to help his team out a bit and realized that the team could be really good for a long time if he didn't hamstring them with an absurd contract. If that is the case, I would rather have Acuna than Trout any day.

I personally don't see any reason for the fuss about Cruz's age being 39 and putting up these numbers. Has Cruz ever hit in a lineup like this in his career? I don't even have to look at all of his years in Baseball to know that the answer to that question is no! This lineup is perhaps one of the greatest lineups ever constructed. I really don't believe that is an exaggeration.

If that is so, then they need to change the title of the award to AL Best Player of the Year award or something like that. As far as MVP is concerned, Cruz has turned this lineup/this team into a wrecking ball that I have never witnessed in my entire life!!! When we faced the Angels, was I afraid? No. If we had to face a lineup like the Twins would I be afraid? Yeppers! Cruz is not the only reason but he is the number one reason for this franchise completely turning around. If we don't re-sign him or exercise the option or whatever it would be a crime against humanity. Definitely, I would say Cruz should be MVP, in my opinion!

The bottom line is if we can not go out and get somebody better than Kyle Gibson this offseason that's pretty sad of our front office. I believe we will find someone better though and I look forward to the day when Gibson signs with another team. His career in light of being such a high draft pick, has been very disappointing in all aspects. It's unfortunate but some guys just never reach their potential, some don't even come close. I think Gibson had what it takes to be a great pitcher, but I don't think he will ever be one.

We don't know that it would have cost us any runs. Pitcher pitches differently in certain situations.

A lot of people like to say, and I once said it as well, that: "Well the Twins have not played badly, it's just Cleveland is playing out of this world." While that is true, it's also true that if teams like Houston and the Yankees would go through a stretch of something like 30-28, there would be serious discussions of firing the manager. Am I wrong?

My personal feeling is that this team does not have that 'spark' this year that great teams have. Fun team? Yes. But would I be surprised if we finished around 87 wins this year? I actually would not be surprised. As Morneau said earlier in the game, it doesn't really matter if your schedule gets easier, you still have to finish strong.

Now here's the right thing to say: "I take responsibility for that poor play at home. I have no excuse. It was a mistake on my part." If Diaz had said that, I would feel at least a little better. I've got to believe that Rocco was secretly not happy about that. But he certainly did not yell at Diaz because the interview with Diaz would have showed a more conciliatory Diaz as opposed to: "I"ll take that chance any day." That right there tells me that he may not have been talked to about the play, unfortunately.

Broadcasters, such as Morneau, keep saying that Cleveland's schedule is going to get a lot tougher. With all due respect, Cleveland does not have to face those teams, those teams have to face Cleveland.

I see the Royals playing us really tough in a place that we struggle in: Target Field. Seems like we play a lot better on the road for some reason. After this loss, I see the Royals taking 2 out of 3 against us, especially with Perez pitching the first game.

I believe this is one of the reasons why there is more scoring in today's game. Years ago, when the manager seen that his starter had GREAT STUFF he left him in until he got in trouble. Now, managers take out their pitchers for no particular reason at all.

The Mets are really taking it to us. First they take two games that really, REALLY hurt us after a successful series against Cleveland, then they take the starter, Stroman, that we really needed, and now they want to take Buxton from us along with our best prospects. I think we need to just stay away from the Mets!
