  1. When they told France to protect the plate with two strikes, he thought they said protect the state.
  2. We're good at other things too. Like, like, ......oh, never mind!
  3. The noise was from the stands. Groans from not scoring with runners in scoring position again.
  4. Rocco is responsible for all those calls, whether we like it or not. If the players are making the bad decisions on their own, then Rocco has to straighten them out between innings and between games. It can't continue.
  5. And it's Rocco's job to get them to perform. Tom Kelly would turn over in his grave.(If he were dead).
  6. I actually think that drafting is his "only" strength. We have drafted and developed some fine young pitchers. On the hitting side, there are some really good young hitters coming into there own, like Larnach, Lewis, Lee, Keaschall, Jenkins and others. His biggest problem is his choice of manager, faith in Julien and ownership restraints.
  7. Watch the Twins or the Big Bang theory? Not sure which is funnier.
  8. Perkins kisses butt professionally.
  9. 3 balls on the batter and he misses the plate by 2 feet. Why is he on the team?
  10. I just told the wife that they spent more on diamond dry than they took in, in ticket sales. LOL.
  11. strikeouts looking! where is the coaching? This just continues. Over and Over. Disgusting to the point of laughable.
  12. Ok, I've read all the comments. But what bothers me about the Twins is this; 1. Striking out looking, especially with runners on base and in scoring position. (Julien sucks) 2. It seems there is a lack of hustle from some of our veterans. Correa often does not run hard on infield ground balls. That's not good leadership. 3. The Twins "can't" bunt. Bunt to move up runners. 4. There are so many oppurtunities to score with runners in scoring position with less than two outs. We fail, fail, fail. 5. Throwing erros on simple throws to first base. What's with that? 6. And give me a break on this " The process matters more than the results". Sorry, but that is total BS. When they figure out that winning matters, you will see more fans in the stands. So, what does this all boil down to? Management! From the top down. Rocco makes bad in game decisions(in my opinion). Shoud he be fired? Yes. It's time for a new look. New manager, new coaches, new front office and please new ownership. There's my rant and I know it doesn't matter at all. And many TD'rs will disagree. But if this is how the Twins are going to continue, the team won't be around long.
  13. They're worried about power? Kirby Pucket had no power when he came up. He was a slap hitter who hit singles. I believe he is now in the HOF. Comparison? No. But maybe if we let him play baseball for a few years, we will know a little more about him. Is he going to be good. We all hope so. But many top draft picks became busts. On the other hand many top draft picks became stars. Hope is eternal. Projections are just that. I will be optimistic without putting a number on him. He could be Gunnar Henderson or he could be David McCarty. I'll just wait and see.
  14. See ball. Hit ball. Run to 1st base.
  15. I'm optimistic. Because I believe in our core. Buxton and Correa stay healthy for 100+ games. Continuing development from Wallner, Larnach and Miranda. Solid if not spectacular catching. Lewis getting healthy. Bader playing ++ outfield defense and stealing some bases. Solid+ SP and BP. Having a very good utility player in Castro and some very promising prospects in Rodriguez, Keaschall, Lee and Jenkins on top of depth in the rotation with Festa, Mathews and others. I predict a rebound with Julien. France and Gaspar are looking pretty decent with the bats. But most of all, I love baseball and its spring. I'm going to be "able to watch the games on tv all season. I'll be optimistic until proven wrong. If I can't be optimistic in spring there would be no reason to get excited about the baseball season. I predict the Twins to win the division with 90+ wins. How's that for optimism. Have tickets for April 5th & 6th against Houston and hopefully several more games this year. See you at the ballpark, hopefully with many smiles on Twins fans faces. BooYa.
  16. Assuming France wins a roster spot and Lee wins the 2b spot, the bench looks like Vasquez, Miranda, Castro, and Bader. No room for Julien in this scenario. If Gasper comes north then Lee would also start in St. Paul. In any case I just don't see enough roster spots for both Lee and Julien. Lees' defense is far superior and I'm not convinced that Julien has even earned a roster spot at this point.
  17. At 19 years old, Hill is a fantastic prospect. At 6'5" as a left hander already throwing 98 mph his future could be the best prospect to ever come out of the Twins system. However, he is still just a prospect and we all know how that can turn out. This will be a "super" situation to watch for Twins fans. I really like the Twins prospects at this point. Just imagine the possibilties 3 to 4 years down the road.
  18. Count me in the optimistic crowd. Wallner and Larnach had decent seasons. A little progression is possible there. Bucky and Correa starting out with good health is bright spot. I look for Lewis to come back strong with good health. Lee should make positve progress. Miranda has good potential. Julien can't be as bad as last year or he won't be on the team. The starting pitching and the bullpen should be ++. Say what you want about Bader and France, but they both certainly could have average or better seasons. If not, they won't get alot of playing time. We have great depth and youth. And yes, it's spring. If you can't find some optimism at this time of year you probably didn't get to see the '87 or '91 seasons. Not alot of pre season optimism there either. Play Ball!!!!!!!
  19. Some simple observations. 1. 1 mile/hour (mph) = 1.466 666 666 7 foot/second 2. The longest HR in MLB history is considered to be Babe Ruth's 575 ft. in 1921. 3. 1 light year is approximately 5.88 trillion miles. 4. Ted Williams didn't cosider physics while swinging his bat? 5. Now could someone please use these observations to determine how much chocolate I should put on my ice cream?
  20. Julien scares me. I would love for him to get back to being an above average hitter and cut his strikeouts by about 30%, but I'm skeptical. He looks like he wants to be a homer masher, but with his eye at the plate, he should be a high contact hitter. And let the homer come naturally. Maybe he will figure it out and I hope he does, but my confidence level is low. That's why I would like to go after Mountcastle or Casas. But if we end up with what we have I am ok with that. I actually think that Miranda should get the great majority of innings but if he gets hurt or performs poorly, then I see a problem. But hey, that's the fun of watching the games. If we knew exactly what was gonna happen, well what fun would that be.
  21. As with all Twins prospects, i hope for the best for them. But as trade bait at this point, I don't see alot depending on his play in 2025. If he has a decent year, I would expect his best value to the Twins would be as trade bait due to the players in front of him. Good luck young man.
  22. I think Bader is good depth, which is what he was signed for. It's basically what most of us have been clamoring for since November. Let him play and see what he does. I'm not concerned with the money he makes, it's costing me nothing. Welcome to the team Harrison. We seem to whine too much. Go Twins.
