  1. I have never found a site that told how many blown saves and holds that your team caused. Also, in the past there was a site that had an umpire's batting average, number of walks and strikeouts he called. Also, a site that tells you how many blown saves and holds your BP has given up.
  2. At the ASG last year Harper was hitting .214. He ended at .249. The year before he missed 40 games. The year before that below .250. Once in a generation? Watching the Pillies get burned again. Wait to see when he is hitting .200 the first 2 months and striking out on a pace that would make Ryan Howard proud. Those fans will be throwing batteries.
  3. What about at the trade deadline? Could the Twins win out a 2 year contract? Would .500 be acceptable.
  4. Questions on past gambling scandals. Did Denny McClain have his big toe broken at the end of the 1967 season effecting the pennant race? Some say the commish brushed it aside. Also, when did Pete Rose gamble on baseball as a player. It was known he was into gambling in the early 1970’s.
  5. Did anyone see him miked up on espn as the Twins are winning 12-1 in the 8th inning.
  6. You see that WHIP of 1.3 in 2018 and you think .500 pitcher. Why spend multi millions? Probably why Houston isn’t shelling out $100 million. He will probably sign with someone desperate.
  7. It say Astudillo is wearing the microphone today according to the StarTribune
  8. What percent of Fantasy is gambling? Pete Rose is involved with Fantasy sports now?
  9. I remember seeing recently that one writer said that other teams were tepid based on lack of the Astros enthusiasm for re-signing him as if he may have ...
  10. Your welcome. You can follow the links to all of the Homerun Derby shows, not just that one. Search on youtube. This one was close.
  11. Has anyone ever seen the televised Homerun Derby that featured top Homerun hitters in baseball? There were 3 Senators who played for the Twins in 1961 including Killebrew, Jim Lemon and Bobby Allison. The derby was filmed in Wrigley Field in Los Angeles. The winner won $2000 and played the next session. Killebrew appeared on 4 sessions, Allison 3, and Lemon 2. The players talk to the announcer when they aren’t batting. You get to see them in a different light. Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Banks, etc. as well.
  12. The longer it takes to sign him the less Spring Training he has.
  13. The O's have one of the worst owners in baseball. I only remember a few 90 loss seasons. When Gussie Busch's son took control he was complaining players where making more than him in the early 90's. I couldn't handle losing 100 games 3 years in a row like the Astros.
  14. What's it like going into a season in which you have no chance of finishing .500 let alone winning the pennant? It has been 24 years here. I do remember the 70's when I looked forward to next year in August. You grasped at the new prospects, wanted a new manager, compared your team to other losing teams. It does feel bad when you lose the last game of a postseason as well. You get to the Postseason like the Dodgers and lose the last 7 years and not win a WS since 1988. Well, spring training is here. The poor Cleveland Indians haven't won since 1948. They are in the worst division in MLB since divisional play went to 3 divisions. I root for this division every time they play the Red Sox and Yankees. Start of a new season.
  15. Well, do you have any chance of winning the Division title?
  16. You trade him and in a year or two he has an Aaron Hicks 2018 season. You will have another tread.
  17. My point: Hicks had really one good year with just 119 hits. Suddenly his sabremetrics say he is 4.7 WAR. There are many OFers that have this type of season. Nothing to indicate that another OF can’t be found like him just like Fowler where the Cardinals traded off Pham, Piscotty and even Grichuk who can hit 25 HRs. It’s too early to say that this was a big miss like Ortiz. If Hicks is a bust in a year or so the Yankees will have to eat his contract or string him along. Fowler has a few good years, but, wasn’t going to hit HRs and drive in runs for the duration of contract. Now if Hicks pops 35 HRs, 100 RBIs consistency then ...
  18. 2006 was a missed opportunity considering an 82 win team won it after getting healthy at the end of the year. You don't want to let those get away. Luck is involved more than just stats.
  19. Cain ledoff 95 games. He only had 38 RBIs, 10 on his HRs with 12 in the last 3 months. He could hit .300, walk enough, score 90 runs, steal 30 bases, but, you expect more runs scored and driven in. An offensive downturn and this is a Fowler contract. Hard to believe you have to make $80 million for 5 years.
  20. What I wonder is why television revenues keep increasing when you look at the post-season ratings which are down significantly from the 1970's and '80's. Its hard to believe that revenues are going to increase higher than inflation. The 10000 more strikeouts in the past decade isn't helping.
  21. Yes, he had a good year hitting .248 with 90 walks and 90 runs scored. But, many OFers have seasons like this and I think you end up regretting 7 years unless he is really breaking out. We used sabremetrics in St. Louis to sign Dexter Fowler. Paying too much for mid-level WAR. Back in 2017 there were 120 ballplayers that hit 20 HRs or more so his HR totals in Yankee Stadium don''t impress me. Well, if they could get a year or two of higher batting average, more games played, etc. will they be happy to live with the bad year and be able to trade him off?.
  22. The word is that Houston' The word is that teams are aware of Houston's tepid interest in Dallas Keuchel and it may be a factor why he hasn't got the contract he was hoping for. Gio Gonzales is a minor league contract at best.
  23. Looking at baseball reference projections Hicks 2019 doesn't warrant a $70 million contract. The Yankees can afford it, but, there are plenty of OFers who have seasons like this.
  24. Actually Perkins is 3rd at 120.
