  1. The whole fact that we are talking about our depth makes me smile. One point I would like to make about Adrianza is this. Some players would never be the same for any other team. Case in point Brian Dozier. On the other side of the spectrum, David Ortiz. Adrianza is who he is, a smart team player that is happy to do anything asked to help his team win. We could do worse. If he had any options he would prolly already be gone. But he doesnt. Until Gordon or anybody else can take Polanco or Schoop's job Ehire will be on our bench. Only Rocco and the FO knows why. but, #13 is okay with me
  2. true all of that and you are sooo Right R.B. the best deepest championship caliber teams all go at least 12 deep. (position player wise) The fact that we are even discussing this means we are on the right track.
  3. LMMFAO I bet Herb can still run a 4.2 40 and then get picked off second.
  4. i think they play the option game, the I.L. game and everything they can just to avoid D.F.A-ing Adrianza. I like him a lot and even though i concur with other posters about his weaknesses I just see some sort of his connection with the team that we must not see. Probably a clubhouse chemistry issue.
  5. Probably Cave will go back to Rochester when Astudillo comes back and then barring injury Astudillo goes when Sano is deemed ready. This most likely was the plan ever since Marwin signed.
  6. I have recently heard how Eddie Guardado is still with the organization in some sort of "ambassador" role. I wonder if anyone has thought of him coming back to work with Mejia and Romero as a sort of Latin American mentor to help them transform themselves into major league relievers. It couldn't hurt, and I think those personnel decisions were made after Eddie got reassigned. He's seen a lot. Most importantly the transformation of Joe Nathan from starter to reliever extraordinaire
  7. it was exactly what it was. A good old fashioned showdown between two of the best teams in the American League.
  8. a sweep is a sweep. If we could have won half these games last year, Escobar would still be here.(I loved Escobar) The big test is coming in the next 7 games. I hope they're ready. C'mon Guys!! GET EM!
  9. I totally agree, he should be on the roster and used for short bursts in low leverage situations for at least 30-40 innings IMO.
  10. Whichever pitcher it was makes no difference. If you are satisfied with a 4-2 road trip when you were 4-0 at one point then thats whats wrong with the entire debate. If you finish 87-75, and Cleveland finishes 88-74 you stay home. Every one of these games matter. Don't spout off about how well prepared you are and how well thought all your decisions are. Show us. This was a big "tank". Now im not tryin to say its intentional, but come on! Its April 25th!! You think it's all right, good for you. Check back when they lose 10 in a row. (and i hope that never happens..
  11. yeah you're right. Its just that without checking Verlander's career numbers, I was not aware that seeing his name on the lineup card meant nobody has a chance to beat him. Now I am second guessing myself as to why we didn't just start Cave, Wade, and Andreoli in the outfield. Telis at catcher, Rosales at short, Cesar at third, Arriaz at second and Adrianza at first. Maybe we could have rushed Sano back to dh to get some real confidence boosting at bats. They all could have car pooled from Rochester to save money and the rest of the team could have come home a day early so they could have 2 days off instead of one. These games matter in the final standings. That hasn't changed and it never will. If a team wants to win, they have to want it ALL year. If they dont, then they stay "glued" and accept their butt whipping. (all sarcasm in this post is free of charge) To say "well we had no chance anyway" is just a cop out and making excuses for a losing mind set.
  12. Brian Dozier a. k.a LoConnor was cool. He is an example of a player that will never be as valuable to any other organization. After watching his body language last year when he pinch hit for the Dodgers in the World Series it was clear something had broken his spirit. Whether it was the Dodger's clubhouse or leaving Minnesota I don't know. It's prolly never gonna be the same for him anywhere else.
  13. I dont care what they do as long as we kick their A$$es 16 more tumes in 2019.
  14. Even though i personally understand it, that was an awesome post that will clear things up for any fan who takes time to read it.
  15. Im not willing to crown him a silver slugger award winner yet, but he is a weapon I'm glad to have. If he can post numbers somewhere in the middle of his 2017-18 ones it'll be aight. If he comes close to 2017... RIGHT ON!!
  16. It was a white flag surrender, we are ill prepared, we arent in your league statement and i absolutely hate it.
  17. I can and I will. If they make anymore ill prepared moves like this with their pitching staff i will add it to my long list of 2018 fu¢* ups and i will have plenty of evidence.
  18. Fine then who would have lined up to pitch game two of the doubleheader in Baltimore last Saturday night? Yes what a monumental coup that was. RP sure would look good in our bullpen about now.
  19. Fine then who would have lined up to pitch game two of the doubleheader in Baltimore last Saturday night?
  20. Im not disagreeing with you but when did you hear Verlander dislikes us? That is news to me. Where can i read more about this?
  21. No thats not true Berrios would pitch Saturday, Perez Sunday, Gibson, Monday, Odorizzi Tuesday and Pineda Thursday. Berrios would be in line to face Baltimore Friday and Houston Wednesday at home. The AAA guy would have a way better chance to win in game two of a d.h. in Baltimore than against VERLANDER. I could have told you Verlander was on line to start last night 10 days ago.
