  1. I know Joe Benson needs to learn how to command the strike zone better, but... oh wait, you say that isn't Joe Benson playing RF? It's who?... Clete Thomas? Who's he? And why is he playing so much when we have the likes of Joe Benson and Chris Parmelee? Disclaimer: I know, I know, Benson and Parmelee could both use more seasoning in AAA and both need to playing every day. I get it, I really do. GO TWINS! Go Clete Thomas!
  2. I'm not mad that Curtis Granderson hit a couple of homers off Anthony Swarzak on mistake pitches. Heck, I'm not mad that Curtis Granderson got a couple of singles, one of them a seeing eye infield dribbler after hitting 3 (count 'em 3!!!) home runs. I'm FURIOUS that Curtis Granderson was allowed to hit his 3rd home run off Jeff Gray without even so much as MOVING his feet in the batter's box. Is this on Gardy? Is this on the pitcher? Is this on Mauer? I go with Gardy. He's the skipper, set the tone, don't let the damn Yankees get away with being so comfortable at the plate. Come on Man!!!

  4. There seems to be lots of angst with the M and M boys right now. Flipping Morneau and Willingham in the order to create matchup issues later in games seems simple enough, even though Gardy won't do it. So, who should bat third in this lineup? If not Mauer, then who? If Mauer, then give your reasons. And remember, professional sports is all about "what have you done for me lately?" My pick? Span My batting order right now would be Carroll, Mauer, Span, Willingham, Morneau, Doumit, Parmelee, Valencia, Casilla

  6. Glen Perkins was used to get two high leverage outs in the first game when we were still in it and needed to keep the score close. Now, I didn't get to watch beyond the 4th inning of yesterday's game. I'm looking in the boxscores today and checking my fantasy league team when I see that Perk pitched an inning with two strikeouts. Can anyone explain? Anyone? Seriously, Ron Gardenhire! Seriously?

  8. Lots of hand-wringing over a not-so-inspiring Game 1. Also, lots of opinions about who should get how much blame, most of it centered on either Pavano or the hitters. Well, now that the spring training kool-aid fest has worn off my question is, "whose to blame"? Let's face it Twins fans, Vegas has us as over/under 73 wins for a reason. We didn't get much love from national pundits and magazines for a reason. I'd like to think we could take second place and give the Tigers a run for their money. However, I'm not much inspired by the pitching staff, especially the starters. So, "whose to blame"? A) Ownership for not committing enough resources to this team in just it's third year in what has been described as a cash-cow ballpark partly funded by the public? Bill Smith, simply because everything else last year had to have been his fault and he never should've ever traded with those thieves formerly known as the DEVIL rays? C) Terry Ryan because he didn't do nearly enough to address the "issues" on the roster once he returned? D) Joe Mauer because, let's face it folks, that contract simply hamstrings the rest of the organization making it near impossible for them to field a competitive team around him? Oh yeah, and he's no #3 hitter anyway, can you say deuce? Have at it!
