  1. That's not what I meant you commie sympathizer.
  2. Okay Park. Pretend the baseball is this guy's head.
  3. Damn, the Canadians are always a step ahead of everyone when it comes to fashion.
  4. Not watching the game on TV, but something weird must have happened, Did Byrd try to score from 2nd on a SF?
  5. That Lindor Kid is a pain in the ass.
  6. Day late and a dollar short on AB #3. I was hoping to use this for HR #3. It's happening tonight.
  7. That does sound feasible and it would not surprise me.
  8. That's one way and the way things have been going he would probably get ample opportunities because of the way this staff has been performing. Another way would be to have him start and put him on a strict pitch count and only count on him pitching 3 innings the first start, 4-5 his second and so forth - sort of like spring training. Plus you would have the veteran starter that was banished to the bullpen to pitch after his day is complete. I know you don't see that very often or maybe ever during the regular season, but I believe it to be doable.
  9. Woody, there are no saves to be had!
  10. Hrb, you might just get your wish at some point, but don't you think it would be prudent to build him up as a starter and analyze what we have in him instead of branding him a bullpen arm when he really has not had the chance to be a starter at the MLB level. He needs more than the 25 starts for us to come to a final conclusion. He did have some bright performances last year out of the starter's role and there is nothing left to lose this year. Executing this really does not have any consequences.
  11. Okay. I don't know if 2 All-Stars can solve anything. In 2013 the Twins had Mauer and Perkins as All-stars and the Twins sucked, that is besides the point as the team was different 3 years ago. I am assuming what Howie meant to say was, 2 super star players. Maybe if the Twins had Kershaw and Arrieta, our record would be a little bit better, It is hard to determine how much better they would be? They certainly would be far shy of a winning record. This squad has had the bottom fall out, and Kershaw's and Arrieta's do not grow on trees. There certainly is hope for this team, but the ship has sailed this year and this org needs to recoup and play the guys they think will be part of the solution and not try to ignore what is happening. It's all about doing the right thing for shaping these youngin's up for next year and beyond.
  12. Since it is fairly clear this team won't cut the mustard... and I say fairly, because I don't want to be a pessimist, May needs to be stretched out and start the rest of season. He certainly showed some signs of being able to be a SP last season. There is no reason to pigeon hole him into being a bullpen arm. It doesn't make any sense based upon his production last year as a starter. Taking the good and bad into consideration.
  13. Come on Howie. Enough people have poked enough holes in your posts to prove you incorrect. It is okay to be wrong once in a while. It's no big deal. This isn't something I would dig my heals into and try to stand your ground. It really is not worth it.
  14. Ditto. I just wish they would play him everyday in CF instead of Santana and see if he can find his groove again - if he can't do that, then he might need to take a trip to North Central NY. I really have high hopes for Rosario, and those hopes haven't faded, the young guys for the most part, have really struggled this season.
  15. Safe travels Mike. I spent a week in that area back in 2008, it seems like a great place... my kind of people. I am sure you will get to enjoy all the perks that come with living there - The Columbia River Gorge, Mount Hood, and you are 1.5-2 hour drive from the Pacific, plus, if you are a Goonies fan you can drive that same amount of time to Astoria and revel in the glory that is the Goonies. There is a beer that is brewed in Redmond, WA. The name of the brewer is Mac and Jack's and the beer is African Amber... one of the best beers I have ever had. Mac and Jack's only distributes to WA, OR, and ID. Check it out.
  16. I like Martinez, I just have a hard time understanding why he has not received a managing gig yet. He would be #1 on my list if I was looking for a manager.
  17. I don't know. Martinez has been in line for a managerial job for at least 5 years, but no one bites. Is there something wrong with this guy, that rubs FO's and ownership the wrong way?
  18. As the Cubs did with Epstein, hiring him away from Boston to become their president. Maybe the Twins doing the same with Hoyer or Zaidi would be a wise move... somewhat risky, but it would be forward thinking, something that has seemingly been lacking around these parts for a while. I think they would be hard to get and would require a king's ransom.
  19. I am a fan of Plouffe, people who are aware of my history on this site know I back him up to the enth degree. After watching this absolute, awful train wreck this past month, I have now surrendered my flag, and know it is time to play Sano at 3B everyday. Sano might be only able to play that position for a couple years, who knows? But it is apparent he is a 3B,1B, or DH... end of story. I don't know what you do with Plouffe, as I feel confident he has the same limitations as Sano position wise... I don't know. They should start stretching May out to start again, take a chance, call up Chargois, get rid of Nolasco and eat the money. It really doesn't matter if our bullpen suck from here on out, this season is lost from the standpoint of being a playoff team (I laughed when I typed that, as we all know that). Going forward the only pitchers I care about the Twins throwing out there every 5th day are: Berrios, Duffey, and May. Sure Santana is one of those guys, hopefully he can be serviceable. Right now, I have zero interest in May being a bullpen arm... if we were contenders, sure. Obviously we are not. I thought that Chargois, Melanotakis (Spelling?) and Burdi would be up by now. I get it that injuries are a part of the game, but it is disappointing none the less.
  20. On a serious note: I do not think I was ever this disappointed in a Twins team. The expectations this year were high, but I expected they could take small step backwards or play status quo to what they did last year. I certainly did not expect them to be a shoe in for 90 wins or anything of that nature... that would be crazy. Since the start of Twins Daily 4+ years ago it seemed like everyone was in line expectation wise and the game threads we're a celebration of baseball and making a mockery of the Twins play and hoping for the future. I think last year took us by surprise a bit and it was fun for the most part, but I am so disgusted by how this season has started out, I don't even want to watch the games anymore. I can't find that void within myself to fill it and take a chance and invest my time. I am not a big expectation kind of guy, but this season has been sewage and has put my baseball passion into hibernation. I know some of the young players have failed and a fair amount of the veterans on this team have been a pile of cow manure, They have sent the young guys down, DFA'ed some of veterans, and have called up 4AAA ball players to take their place. It's a frickin' bummer. That's all I guess, I just needed to vent a little.
  21. "Twins Country Song" (5-9-16) Ol' Paul is losing his mind and his boys are a step out of time Season of rejects and empty frame of sense Ol' Paul is losing his mind Ol' Mauer is back on the horse The Catcher is strictly the worse.. amen The pitching is dead. let's bury it now This time a funerals okay Berrios and let's have a toast I hope his contest goes good... tonight Consuelos should divorce, that Ripa chick stat We just need some life in the bats We've watch the wreck that killed a season This group of guys sure let us down Some whiskey and beer will temper our minds Those Twins are dead and dead good.
  22. To be honest, I think you could have had 3rd if you had hustled.
  23. Your one weird MFer LaBombo. Keep up the great work!
