    Yikes! I would post a picture of the aftermath of some unfortunate guy who decided to take a leak on an electric fence - but it would get me banned. Believe me, it is not pretty.

    To me the biggest gut punch of the season was demoting Arcia and Parmelee. After being swept by the Royals - it is not surprising some changes were made. Many, including myself, have championed Hicks this season, but at this point, sending him down for a month to retain his services for an extra year sounds like a great plan to me. In a perfect world, Hicks would have won ROY and the Twins would have finished at around .500. Diamond on the other hand, might be a poor man's Allan Anderson. I appreciate the season he gave us last year, but at this point, I do not expect anything more from him from this point forward. If he returns and is a success - Great! If he never returns again, and this is the last we hear from him - It will not uproot my peace of mind. I am glad Arcia is back. We really need his bat in the line-up. Hell, he will probably strike out a lot. It's not like everyone else who plays consistently hasn't been doing that. Hopefully Parmelee is a soon to follow call up.

    I really hoped that Hicks would be successful this season. He started off awful and seemed to find a half decent kind of groove after the first month. When he went 4 for 4 against the Rays, I was hoping that would be his starting gun to get on a hot streak. Unfortunately, that did not happen. In a season of disappointment, Hicks has at least provided us fans with some of the more exciting moments of this season (mostly with his glove). It is now imperative that the Twins stash Hicks in Rochester until they have guaranteed themselves another year of service time from him. I believe Hicks is a part of the answer to the Twins' woes. He just needs a bit more time. As for Arcia. Tomorrow, he should probably be in the 3 or 4 spot. Not to say that will happen, but at this moment in time he seems like the absolute right candidate. Morneau and Doumit do not do it for me. Congrats to Morneau for his decent offensive output today, but one day does not change his awful July and powerless 3 months to begin the season.
