  1. My gut tells me the Twins will win this game. Pinto will be an important part of it.
  2. Different year, different team, better feel - 10 fold. The 2014 Twins are a better club than 2013.
  3. Like most, I am shocked by this signing - it is hard not to like though. I guess the Twins brass think they are really in this thing. So what are people's thoughts on the line-up going forward when Morales and Fuld enter the fold? Maybe something like this: C - Suzuki 1B - Mauer 2b - Dozier SS - Escobar 3B - Plouffe LF - Willingham CF - Santana RF - Arcia DH - Morales Not that I am championing sending Hicks down, but Gardy seems to be in love with Santana and I hope to high hell that they do not start Fuld. Please no Fuld as a starter... please.
  4. Are you saying Paul Reubens is your wife?
  5. 50% shy of the Apple Dumpling Gang.
  6. Paul McCartney is a Smurf.
  7. The King of Cartoons will attest with this - PeeWee has my back.
  8. Although I was 5 years old, I remember the day John Lennon was murdered. My parents, were in there early 20's and were weepy, shocked and mourning. It seemed like everyone was depressed for a bit after that happened. That was a crummy time in Western Culture History. I was also sad for Bambi when her mother died - I tipped her extra for her couch dance.
  9. I am dumbfounded that Buck O'Neill is not in the HOF. I believe Jim Kaat eventually gets in as a player with the Veteran's Committee. I hope O'Neill gets in as I wish for Zimmer - as an All-Time Great Ambassador to Baseball. Buck O'Neill is a legend!
  10. I am assuming that Mary Jane is universally legal in the future, so my guess is that Judy lit the pipe, took a toke or two herself in anticipation of her father getting home, and bestowed him with his daily "welcome home" fix. Cogswell Cogs is prick - George has a hard job, he's earned it.
  11. Don't worry Gibby - Kubel is his replacement. All is good.
  12. When I seen Arcia tweak his knee last night, I slumped over in my chair and let out a very sad gasp... that was because I drank too much and passed out, but when I awoke, I put 2 and 2 together and realized that saddly, this is gonna sideline him for a week or two. I look at Arcia as a Bull Fighter - he has all the Gusto and Bravado one would seek in an emotionally exciting player, every time he pumps his fist after getting a timely or extra base hit, he is slaying the bull. I felt his fire and it makes me feel a little bit less engaged in tonights game.
  13. Jokin, you are too kind! Props out to you LaBombo!
  14. I have to admit, I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Don Zimmer. Maybe I am feeling a bit melancholy because of this event, but because of Zimmer's contributions to the game of Major League Baseball the last 66 years, I believe there is a place for him the HOF - not as a player, or as a manager, but as a teacher and ambassador of Major League Baseball. Don Zimmer, seemingly has seen it all, and he has picked the minds of Pre-Golden aged Greats, Golden aged Greats and the greats that followed them. His dedication and his passion for baseball stand alone - not to forget, he has been a strong part in Historical events in the MLB. Don Zimmer's dedication and teachings exemplifies the spirit of baseball and he should be given the greatest honor a baseball man deserves.... induction into the Hall of Fame. Don Zimmer is the essence of MLB.
  15. I can understand people being disappointed with passing on Jackson, but I feel confident the Twins made the right choice with Gordon. It is not lost on me that he is the son of a helluva good baseball player with 20ish years in the bigs. Although he was a kid when he was hanging out with his dad in the clubhouses and in the field and getting to know his dad's teammates, I believe that kind of thing sticks with you. It also does not hurt that his older brother is doing a more than decent job as the starting 2B of the Dodgers - when he has his struggles, he will have a few MLB baseball experienced people to lean on. He also seems to have a great head on his shoulders. He is a tremendously talented player and he has a leg up on his fellow draft class because of this. The more I think of it, I feel lucky the Twins drafted Nick Gordon. Barry Larkin was drafted #4 in 1985 - just maybe we could have ourselves a comparable player 29 years later. Fingers Crossed:)
  16. Hey Gibby, I am curious and have a few questions about your Chef-titude. What celebrity Chefs do you dislike and what celebrity chefs are you cool with (if any)? Also - are you Rick Bayless?
  17. Gibby - I have taken note of this. You'll never read those words from my fingers.
  18. I am not a Connoisseur of French Hard Core Erotica films, but this one was indeed very good.
  19. Heck, for 3M I'd change my name to anything the Payer chose for me. My preference would be to have an obscenity and a rare fruit included in this name. The only names that would make me a little bummed would be - Mitch, Todd or Chad (no offense to any TD participant with those aforementioned names - personal preference).
  20. Hey, I see what you did there. Genious!!!
