  1. Nix the previous post I am not seeing any confirmation. The rumor was for 2 top 10 Dodger prospects. No names.
  2. Duran to Dodgers maybe???? Nothing yet to confirm.
  3. The Kepler scratch is odd. Wonder if there is any possibilities he could come back for the remainder of the year if it meant maximum return in a trade from Phillies.
  4. He basically is Charlee Soto with control issues this year.
  5. Yep was waiting to see what the return was. Pretty low all things considered. Read additional follow up that he was for middle relief.
  6. Kepler scratched in Philly.
  7. He was middle relief - Duran still definitely in play.
  8. Jeter Martinez for Ferguson. Thats a little more reasonable trade. Martinez looks like a solid prospect,
  9. Ferguson to the Mariners. Does this take them out of the Duran Sweepstakes or is this on top?
  10. Mariners appear to be the leaders to get Duran. Wonder what that trade would look like.
  11. Thats not happening. If you were to trade Ryan and Correa to Houston it would still command a significant prospect in return. Honestly if thats how it panned out, if we got over pays on Jax and Duran I would be fine with it. You could do a proper rebuild. I've felt like we have continued to just try to toe the line of being a good team. We have a good farm system already, tear it down, get more prospects, have a good draft next year, and start rebuilding the team with the prospects and trades in the offseason.
  12. The Mets gave Tidwell #10 prospect and Gilbert #12 prospect for Tyler Rogers. That is a large amount for just a 1/2 year of Rogers.
  13. Figured we might as well have a megathread for the trade deadline. I am currently hoping from 4 different stories. The market is starting to move. Both Roger brothers have been traded today. Rumors that Duran trade is being completed. Jax and Castro maybe Bader all pulled mid inning in the 9th.
  14. Joe Ryan is likely the piece they can get the most for.
  15. Seems very reminiscent of 2021. Last year we faltered late August and September. Along with trading players, it also seems a bit of tanking for draft capital as well. I'm for trading for players if your are getting premium deals, but it is hard to envision what will be left.
  16. It sucks as a fan to know we have no shot at the playoff. The team has basically rolled over. Buxton and Correa out for injuries. The rest of the team as constructed just isn't good enough, you might as well trade any decent piece because right now its looking like the next 2 months are going to be rough. We will see how big of a sell off is completed in the next 24 hours.
  17. Putting in Jax today was beyond stupid. At least he didn't get hurt. It is looking more and more like we are going to see a total tear down in the next 24 hours. We will see what pieces we are left with, and what new pieces are here.
  18. You have 3 different reporters stating the same thing. Nightengale, Feisand and Heyman. There is obviously smoke here.
  19. Most likely Jax wasn't suppose to pitch today. But Rocco looked at his usage card and put him in. Falvey must likely said pull him out.
  20. Not sure why you would put Jax out there today. Not that it really matters. If someone wants someone with his stuff it will still take quite a bit to pry him away.
  21. If you have teams drastically willing to overpay, I can see why the Twins would be open for sale. Yesterdays game appeared they were willing to take the loss, today as well. Right now you just don't want anyone to have an injury. My guess is we will begin to start to see some movement later this afternoon to tonight. At the start of this I had the over under at 2 1/2 trades. Right now I think you would have to put it at 4-5 trades. Bader and Castro, likely Duran . . . then who else are they willing to move. This is starting to look a bit like a firesale, except they are getting premium prices in return.
  22. The current update on Duran is stating things are moving pretty fast and a deal may be done by the end of the day. If they are getting something in return comparable to Painter, holy cow. The other mention, is that basically the entire bullpen is up for trade, I really wonder how its going to work. Duran, Jax, Varland, Stewart, and Coloumbe. Thats crazy. Will we have to trade for relievers if we trade away a large chunk?
  23. This shows you the position the Twins are in. They are in a massive position of strength. The Phillies don't like the way negotiations are going with Duran so they pivot . . . to Jax 🤣. It really sucks when the next best reliever is with the same Team you just thought was overvaluing Duran. Because the Twins are going to take a significantly less return for Jax when they have already stated they view them as equals. The teams continue to engage the Twins because they know Jax, Duran, and Ryan are the best available. Somebody is going to meet Falvey's price on 1 of the 2 relievers. I am really hoping we get a deal on Ryan as well, but that one is much more iffy. The cost is higher, and Ryan is likely be shopped at nearly his peak value. The trade calculator has Painter at double value for Duran. I do wonder if a bigger trade is possible with them.
  24. When the standard response is we could have gotten someone better in return, and up to this point the best comp offered is a 29 year old hitting sub .200 in AAA and is likely to be released by the end of the year, you know this trade had minimal implications. But you have some that are going to critique everything and put a negative spin on even when ever review of the trade that I can find shows the Twins winning by a significant margin. Alas I am done with this thread, only so much reasoning you can do. Paddack and this thread I bid you adieu
  25. Your quote - "Then why do it?" If you don't do it you are keeping Paddack. Period. I answered your question, it wasn't me treating you as an idiot, but the question was simple enough. Re: Your think hard questions, you are asking question we don't have all the answers too. In either case as I have said including Dobnak cleared cash, and cash has institutional value. Its what gave the Twins a win in the Trade Calculator by a significant margin. So including Dobnak benefitted the Twins organization. As I have said this entire thread, I am thinking Detroit was unwilling to offer anything better than Jimenez PERIOD. The only way they were giving the Twins a better deal was by eating cash. See I can admit I may be wrong on my assumption, but it is just as plausible if not more plausible than saying Detroit had offered a significantly better prospect but the Twins turned it down because they preferred the cash savings which you are implying. We just don't know what was offered in negotiations or the Twins preference for prospects.
